A year or so ago, there was the Great Accent Thread by Furbut (If I remember correctly)

Everyone uploaded youtube videos of themselves speaking. Accents were funny. Laughs were had.

That's been done and dusted. But now I come to ask you to WRITE out your accent phonetically. Simply give us a sentence in English, then type out how it sounds when you or someone you know pronounces it

E.G.

She Moved Back to Ireland, didn't she?

Sh'moofed bak Tiyland, dintshe?

I'm going to the shops

Am goen tuther shops

Your turn!

How are...yew? No, It's not working with me. Then again, I've got a rather sophisticated English accent; upper-class, if you will. Not that I am, but that's just how I sound. "Hi! How are you," literally is how I would pronounce it.

You guys aren't even trying(the first three)! I can say with certainty that EVERYONE has an accent. Know why? You're all saying that "I'm American, I have no accent", but my English-accented friend says the same thing, and there's definate differences

I can say that I've heard a lot of Americans pronounce their Ts as Ds. E.G. "Du Unided Sdates of Amare-ica"

Just say something aloud as if it were in a conversation (not deliberate and slow, but quickly like you were speaking to someone) and see what the noises out of your mouth actually are

Pretty much same here. I have quite a posh voice...especially on video play backs etc

I generally do. I don't have much of an accent, but it tends to pop out at times, like when I say things like, "What're yall up to?" And yes, occasionally I'll say, "Lordy."
If I'm around Southern food, I'll get into a bit of an accent, going so far as to say something like, "Ah geddit, Yall're up to no good, arenchya?" Just a bit of extra inflection at the beginning or ending of a sentence. Not much.

Oi, I was trying! It's not my fault I don't sound like anything. I've just sat in front of a mirror talking randomly, and there is no difference between how it is spelled, and how it is pronounced. What do you want me to say. (I pronounce scones with emphasis on the O of course. The other way is for commoners.)
