this about sums up my reaction
more seriously though this is pretty stupid, which codes exactly have been broken?
Between this, the student fee nonsense and the immenant ban on porn I think it's high time we had an armed revolution.

Stop over-reacting people, this isn't even newsworthy. Some people just don't like having an image of people fighting right in their face while they're waiting for a bus. It's an advert, it doesn't matter if it's banned.

The smile on that man's face as he punches the ruffian will forever be embedded in my crying, crying soul. It's not wonder it was pulled, he looks all too happy.

But seriosuly, that's not violent. Reminds me of when ads were pulled in my city. Prince of Persia where he was holding a gun, or something. Kid complained that it gave him nightmares, that's right. One complaint got it pulled off of all city buses.
That is a little too happy for my taste. And this does feel a bit over the top for the ASA but if Sony wants to win the UK over with the Move this may not have been the best choice. Especially as it doesn't promote a specific game. If that's true then Sony is saying something else entirely, and I am not looking forward to the deluge of UFC titles.
While the subsequent lawsuits against Sony for black-eyes, bruises, contusions, and broken bones from that game will be entertaining. I await the first article detailing how someone got their Move Controller jammed into their eyesocket while playing a fighting game.

You know what? Why stop there? All the Assassin's Creed boxes show the hidden blade, they're "promoting/inciting" knife crime! Ban them as well! Any box that features both a black and a white character engaged in any form of competition will be racist, ban that too. Any box that only features white characters is being racist by refusing to represent other races, ban those.
We're gonna end up in a world where everything on the shelf looks like The White Album.

As I posted earlier, this can be seen as breaking

Marketing communications must contain nothing that is likely to condone or encourage violence or anti-social behaviour.
As it shows him beating someone up and says "Move into the fight!" and "The game is just the beginning" which can be seen as encouraging violence. Not that I agree, but I see their point.

Getting pretty sick of it living think going to move some where more liberal
I'm starting to wonder precisely where is liberal enough that both sex and violence will not raise undue fuss. Back home in Canada isn't too bad but it's not exactly open season either. I'm not sure what other positive options remain though.
Well france banned the burqa so maybe thats start

To be honest, I can see why this poster was pulled. Look at it! You really want your 10 year old kid to walk passed a poster with a smiling man happily punching the face of someone else?

The United Kingdom bans something else for being too 'graphic'.
Oh. There's a surprise.
PAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Wait...You're serious?

And you're sure you meant to say "Kingdom" instead of "States"?

Oh...
Now I'm just confused. I was implying that political correctness has the UK by the balls.

ASA has too much power imo. One complaint? That's all it'd take? Shit, people complain about everything these days.

Hardly, for a start the only people who cry "POLITICAL CORRECTNESS GONE MAD" are those who read stupid sensationalist papers like The Sun on the Daily Failure, and even so, this is hardly political correctness, but more of an advert breaking advertising guidelines and thus being banned, in the same way that it would be banned if it had subliminal messages in it.

And we have it pretty good here. You know this ad (and many more things we have which aren't banned) would never fly in countries like America or Australia.

I'm not. It just seems you're jumping on a bandwagon due to recent events when there is more incidents elsewhere.

The man-boy in that video shrieks like a banshee. It made my ears burn.

Shit, sorry, I forgot. This poster couldn't be construed as racially insensitive.

EDIT: Wait. Yes it could. And was. For a short while. I meant religiously insensitive.

That's kinda why I used it, I just wanted a headdesk clip and that was the first one I clicked, the shock of the bizzare shreiking is what made that vid for me.

Mind you, having a Playstation Move sensor jammed in your eye is quite a manly way to go.

I think they get the racism problem because it really can look like an overly happy white guy about to start punching a Black looking guy who is defenseless in the pose, in the face. I mean ads effect people within seconds and the first scenario that people see is a happy white dude assaulting a man with darker skin tones.
