But its a historical game, which has a historical character going about in history doing things that you could do in history. Plus................ITS DIGITAL! Killing a whale in a game doesnt mean a real one dies out in the ocean.

I seriously doubt this will make anyone consider a career in whaling. I know the job market is pretty shit at the moment, but I can't see whaling catching on, what with video games obviously making people copy what they witness in game all the time.

I think PETA needs to be put down, it's the kindest thing to do, it doesn't seem to know what it's talking about. Also it keeps trying to shit on things it has no right to shit on.

I feel like we've reached the point where we just shouldn't bother reporting when PETA makes noises about a video game.

They aren't relevant to anything, so why bother covering them?

PETA is still pissed about depiction of violence against animals in games and Ubisoft continues to do a very losse adaptation of historical - ehm - stuff in their Assassins' Creed series... so, what else is new?
Not new either, but i'll bring it anyways:
How many PETA members does it take to make a change?
Doesn't matter how many, PETA can't change anything!
buahahahaha...
seriously though, for some reasons i haven't heard anything "good" about PETA in a while now. Well, "Pokemon: Black and Blue", while not original, was still kinda fun, but either media likes to step on PETA, or they just haven't done anything properly in the last decade or whatnot. However you look at it, poor sitation. But nice of Ubisoft to at least respond.
On a sidenode: While i stabbed NPCs in Dishonored to the point it started to feel "empty", i never killed a single watchdog.

I don't know a single person who actually supports PETA. They're one of those groups that you always hear about but no one actually contributes to because of how insane they actually are.

oh PETA you so crazy, completely neglecting the fact that you yourself murder millions of animals yearly in an attempt to control their population

PETA can't possibly know if AC4 will "glorify" whaling. If they do then I can kind of see why they might get pissed off. But for now, just keep your trap shut PETA.

They get a ton of foreign investment, mostly due to ignorance.

I think some of these PETA guys need to come over for a little visit so I can bash them while wearing my seal skin coat and playing the hunting missions in far cry 3.

Sometimes I think that PETA picks fights about things like this just to keep their name in the headlines and try to stay relevant, rather then focus their time and money where it is best put regardless of how much press it may generate.

I honestly don't know how anyone can care about Assassin's Creed these days between the yearly release schedule and the complete pile of utter shit that was Liberation.
You act like the yearly release schedule is a new thing?

AC - 2007
AC: - Altair's Chronicles: 2008
AC2: - 2009
AC2: - Brotherhood 2010
AC2: - Revelations 2011
AC3: - 2013

That's one a year for 6 years since the first came out. (Actually more than 1 a year if you count the Vita and DS and other titles I skipped.) Nothing new here.
Yeah, but it looks like they at least tried for AC, AC2, and AC Brotherhood. Now that they've taken the focus away from the most fun part, the assassinations, and completely ignored some of the best possible historical periods for the running around the city rooftops style gameplay, it's just getting increasingly less interesting as a franchise.

shouldn't PETA be below Ubisofts notice?

seems like the best thing to have done was not respond at all
