I have pretty much the same story as everybody else, when it comes to first getting into the show.

But I have to mention that, as an art student, the thing that stuck out to me first about the show was just how damn pretty the whole thing looks. And not only that, but the animation is really solid, which shows just how much the animators cared about what they are doing- always a good sign that a cartoon will be great.

Plus the fanbase is phenomenally awesome.

By the way, your original posts largely concerned mocking our choices and the show on fairly baseless grounds. This one shows a fair degree of tolerance and understanding. Are you sure the show hasn't rubbed off on you, even slightly?

Pinkie Pie, is one of the main reasons for the many WTF's.

Also I wholly agree with the Fluttershy assessment. I think its the soft, soft voice. Good lord, I sound like a right bastard. I need some sleep and so does Apple Jack, shes beating a dead tree!

The show itself seems like spoungebob with ponies though.

My Giant Scorpions of course, instead of being cutesy plot a day comedy, it would have a large over arching plot line, and brutal fights to the death, and instead of learning about friendship, we would learn the benefits of stabbing former allies in the back for you own benifit, and they'd all be male, not all of them would be Scorpions though, there'd also be Spiders and Centipedes and such, there would be a Scorpion that only broke into song every once in a while and he would only sing Heavy Metal songs and it would be Awesome!

Blood Stinger: A Scorpion with a past of law breaking, betrayal and demise of a criminal empire, most of it done to him, he enjoys a fine drink and the thrill you get from a quick clean kill, he doesn't like to talk too much but when he thinks of something clever to say he says it.

I've not been on the escapist much lately and dont watch tv anymore because i had been playing games or working. Last few weeks when im on the escapist ive been seeing the pony avatars...
Is it good? Im just slightly confused to see something like that on the escapist.

You are lost, good sir. The pony plague is spreading. I can already feel my resistance weakening to the show as well. People keep praising its writing, saying it's something adults can enjoy alongside kids. People keep using them for internet memes, popping up all over the place (Especially 4chan. Jesus christ.) and some of which I've seen are actually funny. But, like all other skeptics, I still resist. I don't really want to be pulled into a kids show, even if it is funny.

But then I remember other kid's shows I've gone back and watched, Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, Rocco's Modern Life, and thoroughly enjoyed. There is some merit to these shows. They're funny. And about half of the humor goes over kids heads. So who knows? I may fall as well. One thing you don't want to do is feel guilty or less manly for falling for this. Good writing and clever humor can trick anybody. Even if it's about ponies. Do not fret. From what I have heard it's a decent show...
