I can see where he's coming from, what with this being a current war. British soldiers will probably still be taking casualties when this game is being played.

However, might be a good opertunity to indirectly teach people about the conflict. Hands up who knows where Helmand province is!

if anything the Taliban have more of a right to go to war than america did(Which then called in the justice league against the axis of evil or what ever) america help oust their DEMOCRATICALLY elected prime minster(or what ever they call it) and install a dictator who killed many people(I forgot which country this was in I think Iran) the Taliban kills 3000 americans(give or take like 200 hundred foreigners) and we go to war.
The Taliban are cowards who kill OUR soldiers. I think the problem is that most of you seem to be too far removed from the reality of what is actually happening in the world.
um how they cowards our soliders have state of the art body armor and unmanned drones these guys have aks from the 80s and tnt that they strap to themselves, I am not condoning what they are doing I am just saying they aren't cowards it takes balls to strap dynamite to yourself incredibly crazy balls but balls none the less.

ps I am not trying to troll I feel incredibly sorry for the people who lost their lives that day but it is meaningless if people don't know what drove these people to it.
Not sure about Americans, but the British troops take alot of casualties, in fact most of them, from road side bombs and improvised explosives. It's a really cowardly, yet effective, way to fight. Lots of our guys even say that if they do get hit by a bomb they hope it kills them, rather than leave them without a limb or with permanent damage.

I do see your point, though. The Taliban wouldn't be fighting if they didn't believe they were in the right, although when they were in power the murder and oppression was a hell of a lot worse than the current government.

He does realize it is only in multiplayer mode right? When you have a game where you are fighting against terrorists, in multiplayer mode you're going to need someone to play as the oppostion, if it was single player where you were playing as a member of the taliban and blowing shit up doing missions for them, yeah it would be a little weird.

This is basically the logic of the guy, "It is perfectly okay to kill someone else virtually BUT they have to be against us otherwise you are a dick face that hates america, britain and [insert random country allied with america] that derserves to die in 18 different hells".

there are many roadside but the US(and I seem to remember reading they gave them to the UK too) have decoupled a hyper armored humvee that that drives ahead of the convoys and sets of all the bombs with a radio signal or something.

"Un-British"

I suppose games depicting medival England with it's crusades and other various escapades that costed thousands of lives in the name of some rulers ideals are somehow more acceptable? At least by his logic, no reality based games should ever be acceptable if they have killing.

Seriously, let it go. I'm sure tons of actual soldiers who game are stoked about the game.

I think the only games that should be unacceptable by any standard would be child learning games that deliberately teach kids things like murder and rape are acceptable. To my knowledge, these don't exist, so Fox can go fuck himself.

The only thing "Un-British" about the whole fiasco is screaming out and wanting the game banned. Given that Briton is often quite lenient on most forms of media, that's the only thing out of place here. Though I find it hilarious that this is coming from a guy with the last name Fox...

Yeah, it transmits signals that trigger remote activated bombs, but it doesn't trigger mines or cable operated bombs. Also what tends to happen is they plant two. The first is small and barely does anything, especially with new armoured cars as you said. But then they wait until the bomb squad arrives then set off a much bigger one, often after soldiers have left the vehicle.

Somehow I saw this coming. Leave it to the brits to jump on a bandwagon created by America. No matter how ignorant of a bandwagon that may be. You know, if I knew that guy's e-mail address, I'd just send him two words: Counter Strike
Or one word: Insurgency

People are stupid, if they're told it's controversial they'll say "Oh my god, that's controversial!" because they're just sheep jumping on a bandwagon.

But don't use that blanket term, most british people probably don't care, it's just the thick politicians that think we care.

OpFor in MW IS the Taliban, not a copy or fictional group similar, it IS, OpFor stands for Opposing Force, and who are the opposing force in the iraq war?
Also i can understand why people would be offended as the Taliban have killed british and US soldiers, but the same has happened to the other side, and also, there are many groups in history that have slaughtered millions, the nazis, the vietcong, and are any arguments made against call of duty WaW and Black Ops?

I'm british and it's shit like this that makes me embarrassed about how fucking stupid our country can be
