Your first argument is invalid, seeing as SW:TOR takes place in a completely different time period than KOTOR does and, being an MMO, the multiplayer is what the game is designed around. Really, the only thing the two series share is being built in the Star Wars universe.
Sorry, I disagree. The game has personal story, personal companion story and romances, personal dark/light alignment ... At least to me it seems those features were developed for single player experience in mind.

If it was built around MMO then these would surely have group based aspects. However, from what BioWare announced about game so far, they do not.

So at least to me it seems they started with KotOR 3 then added multi-player stuff. Hell ... feature list reads like ME3 ... with multiplayer! :) So pardon my confusion.

Well, Bioware's goal with SW:TOR was to bring their "trademark" singleplayer experience into an MMO, so that's why those elements are present. Whether or not they succeed remains to be seen.

It's certainly possible that BioWare has stuck multiplayer into Mass Effect 3, although it can't have failed to notice how unpopular the idea is with its biggest fans. Mass Effect 3 is a game that doesn't really need multiplayer, and while that doesn't mean that any online modes will automatically be bad, if they are included, it'll be hard to see it as anything other than EA ticking a box on a feature list.
I don't think they would actually care that much if the core fan base didn't like it. Really, they would attract a lot of first timers just because it has MP. I am relatively sure this is what happened with Dead Space 2. Though, it could be interesting to see what this "killer new feature" is, as long as it's not just a checklist item. We'll see.

Ehhh. I'm not sure what kind of multiplayer would be an addition to ME3...

OT: rumors and hogwash. screencaps or it didn't happen. I'll believe that ME3 has multiplayer of any stripe when I see the head of development narrating a trailer about how he used the feature to pwn his underlings...

BioWare, please just release ME3 as a singleplayer game and wrap up the trilogy nice and tight. Afterwards you and EA can stuff all the multiplayer you want into the subsequent games because I won't give a shit anymore.

Just please do this one right. Your final swansong in Shepard's story arc.

Hopefully this killer feature will be a way to skip the tedious repetitive combat parts of the game and go straight to the fun and innovative story parts. Course the game will be about 2 hours long but it will be better.

I love how people just bend over backwards to see bad things with Bioware these days. Non-credible source says that there will be a "killer feature"? NOOOOOO, Bioware is adding multiplayer! Bioware guy talks about MMOs, but goes out of his way to not mention Mass Effect except in passing? NOOOOO, it's a Mass Effect MMO!

After Mass Effect stopped being an RPG and became a shooter with RPG elements i lost interest, 3rd Iteration will likely be the most horrible yet.

I hope they will include more hmmm - how did Yahtzee put it? Ah yes, Okay.
So I hope they will put in more "stonking great tits" in it.
That would be Bioware at its best, and almost everyone would appreciate that I assume.

Please, Bioware. For the love of all the good work you have done with Mass Effect, focus on wrapping up my favorite game series ever with a fantastic SINGLE PLAYER ending, and leave the multiplayer to some other game, not this one.

Could it be that "multi-player" simply refers to co-op? Two Shepards instead of one Shepard and 2 crewmembers....that might be kinda fun.

Ugh ...

Not this shit again.
Seriously can we go a damn month without a ME3 Multiplayer rumor?

I mean really its like someone thinks "You know there really hasn't been enough pissing and moaning on the internet lately - I know we should toss out another rumor about the possibility of multiplayer in Mass Effect 3! That'll bring things back to acceptable levels"

Ok, I'm just gonna preorder it through GMG for like $37 dollars when they have a sale. Screw getting a physical copy for $60 when a good third of the content ($20) will be multiplayer. That is, if they don't just mean a Cerberus Network pass.

Tell me how SP meshed with MP, Bioshock 2. Oh wait, it didn't. This is a perfect example of a decent story that could have been so much better if they had focused on it instead of stuffing MP into the game.

Also, wait, wasn't the Kinect integration the killer feature? I'm pretty sure the Bioware guys refuted any MP rumors on the forums...

Rather than going with The HURR DURR of arguments over multi-player, I'm going to suggest there's some sort of squad jump ability so you don't have to play Shepard the entirety of the game and can, for instance, switch out to garrus at will to play, this would be awesome for strategy (versatile fighting and all that)

Oh, and milking their old IPs to near death. :)
Hang on, what?

Milking their old IPs is almost the LAST thing Bioware are doing. The oldest of those is KOTOR, and the MMORPG version will only be the third game to come out in the series in almost a decade. Mass Effect 1 came out in 2007, and if you seriously think that Dragon Age is an 'old' IP you need to do some research. I have boxes of crackers in my pantry that are older than Dragon Age.

I'm sure most people would love another Baldur's Gate or Jade Empire game, honestly. You'd be hard pressed to find someone to back you up with the claim that they were just 'milking' them.
