UK Xbox Magazine Teases "Killer New Feature" For Mass Effect 3

Let's get more creative with our thinking. They say "new feature" and we automatically think "Oh, gawd! It's multiplayer! No!". Maybe it's the ability to go into a berserker rage by eating the dead fish in your cabin. Maybe you can save up some money to send Garrus to tech school so he can take less time to do calibrations. Maybe you'll be able to create your own armor, a process which begins with the brand new Knitting mini-game.

Maybe the new "killer feature" will involve all copy's of the game having the Cerberus Network(or whatever takes it's place) code. I know my copy didn't have one and heard it happened to quite a few other people. I had to head back into town to get one from the store(think it was Gamestop and I think they coughed it up post haste). Would be nice if I didn't have to do that for the end of Shepard's story.

Ugh... here we go again.

BioWare has shot down the multi-player rumors so many times now. Can we stop with the wild speculations and screaming please? I don't think I have ever seen so much bitching over a game that hasn't even come out yet... hell the game isn't even close to coming out. It's almost like people are intentionally trying to find stupid excuses to hate it.

I thought they'd already confirmed multiplayer as DLC a month after release...

Nope, that was just another rumor from an unreliable source that got blown up by the gaming community. Unless BioWare themselves actually come out and say "Hey guys we're doing multi-player!" they're not doing multi-player.

It's no wonder they're afraid to do anything with their games without putting it to a fan vote anymore. Since no matter what they do or say, their fanbase will tear into them.

With each new announcement I fill with a sicking feeling. You have to worry about a game that generates suspicion and dread. Something is very, very wrong when that happens.

I wouldn't mind an optional multiplayer mode where I can duke out other Shepards over the internet with my own campaign one. Maybe with the chance of earning rewards in single player?

I can't take this game seriously if they intend for it to be a "hardcore" experience, though. The ME games have been great so far, and multiplayer is definitely unnecessary.

Wow people can be such retards why would bioware be doing multiplayer even if they where it would most likely be outsourced to somebody who knows what their doing like ID or epic and so would have next to no effect on the single player maybe people dont like extra features in their games

But I digress I doubt it will be earth shattering but space sections would be nice like zero g with a jet pack or in a spaceship

If not, then that's what it should be. Bogeys filling the screen and tearing up space. And each other. For fun and profit.

I've always thought they could make a pretty nifty team shooter or even an old school strategy sim in the mass effect universe if they set it on Hito. That place is begging for exploration.

I have never played Mass Effect myself, and I don't plan to any time soon. It just LOOKS like a really fun game.

Unfortunately no because it seems the entire gaming world is hell bent on crucifying Bioware since the release of DA2. If they can get a rumor that can bring any amount of bile and rage, they will print it. Makes me ashamed to be a gamer.

Or quite possibly the ability to marry a random NPC... ..or the ability to create your charicter's back story.

Hum, that could work actually. Picture this, you have never played ME1 or ME2 yet you now choose to buy ME3. This system lets you select how you completed various missions in your past - you have a set number of missions you did well on and a set number you did badly, and you choose which. Then when you run though the game, you build up points that you can then spend on your next play though to improve your back story missions - build up more good mission points so you can improve your character.

Thats for those who don't have a savegame to import, got to be better than "YOU ARE WHO WE SAY YOU ARE SHEPARD! Now go get yourself killed *****!" that you get in ME2.
