...So did Capcom just take a massive dump on people who bought MvsC3 considering it only came out in February? ...That's only a 9 month difference. What the hell Capcom?
...are you serious? I was unaware the world had inserted 4 more months between february and july.
I thought the same thing... Until I realized he wasn't talking about the announcement... But the release date. February-Novemeber... :)

OK, a new version of the game that just kicked us into the stars, well, almost.
Capcom and marvel had some nice surprises for me in MvsC 3: Crimson Viper, Jennifer Walters (She-Hulk), Spencer, Deadpool and others were a very interesting surprise. This news show some nice things too: Nemesis/Phoenix and Dr. Strange/Rocket Raccoon were quite unexpected. But, I wonder: Why not even one single new female character? Were is Rival Schools? Where is SF Alpha and III(Elena and R.Mika could fit very well in this game)? Were is Breath of Fire? Were is Franken Castle? Why I can't play with Rogue yet? Why put Vergil but not Gene from God Hand? Remember that Doc Octopus was in the game, as a file name, just like Frank West? Well. were is he? So many questions, but why not one more: Back in the launching, there were an online shop with pre-orders for the PC version. Maybe?

... WHAT THE HELL WITH THOSE HEALTH BARS?! They look the same as MVC (1), so hard to see/know how much health is left for the off-screen characters?!?! Why change what was working already?
I have to agree, and honestly my first thought was, what is Deadpool gonna hit people with now? wonder how they'll change that...

I'm not really sure how involved Marvel actually is with the character selection, but considering its Capcom developing and publishing the game I'll blame them. This just one of many reasons to shake my fist at them! >.>

While I'm not one of those people, one of my friends is...

And yet somehow I doubt Capcom will release the additional content as DLC; why sell DLC for 5-20 dollars when you can sell it for 60 instead?
The pricing of the Ultimate MVC3 is going to be $40. Not $60. Is cheaper than having all the 12 new guys released as DLC $5 a pop. But I see you garden gnomed point.
True. Paying $100 is better than $120 (via the original DLC estimate, it's 12 * 5 + 60).
It's still worse than paying $60 new for the actual completed game the first time, but as I understand it, they don't release "complete" games anymore in the mainstream market.

I feel like I paid $75 to have a 10 month beta version of a $40 game...

Lol Hipster Capcom... Complete games? Too Mainstream

But yeah. I wasn't defending Capcom or anything. Just that they realize that they won't be able to pull a $60 one with this updated version of MVC3...

Oh, and one bad piece of unfortunate news...

CAPCOM confirmed that this won't be an expansion. It's a separate retail game and they haven't planned to do anything ala Super Street Fighter Arcade Edition IV yet (if ever)... So no luck seeing these guys in the MVC3 as DLCs or just installing UMVC3 and updating MVC3 as well... :(

I just can't wait until people realise that finally the world will know who would win in a fight between Deadpool and Phoenix Wright.

That's all nice and everything, but unless they add the ability to double/triple up the same character, then I couldn't care any fucking less.

I honestly can say that I would have never called Phoenix Wright.

This is the first time you've ever surprised me Capcom, please continue.

It really seemed in MvC2 that they tried to put in as many characters from both sides as possible but unless making the 38 characters released in the original MvC3 were much harder to make than the 56 in MvC2
The characters in MvC3 were made from scratch, even if they were in many cases based off of their 2D sprite counterparts. Outside of a few new characters, the cast of MvC2 was pretty much just sprites pulled from a handful of other Capcom fighting games. There really wasn't much work involved outside of crafting the engine, which itself was an upgraded hand me down from earlier games in the series.
So I wasn't the only one that noticed, even though MvsC2 was fun, that most the characters were copy/paste sprites from other games.

Gorgeous and animated backgrounds. characters saying the name of the partner called in. Far better balance than MvsC2. characters made from scratch.

My point with this is......I don't know...*brain fart*
Yeah, I'm not certain if Capcom ever stood up and boldly announced it, but it certainly was the case and was the only reason they were able to cobble together a roster of 50+ characters so quickly. It also helps to explain why the game was so imbalanced seeing as how the characters as they originally existed were never really meant to be in the same game.

To this point, the fact that Morrigan used the exact same sprite from the very first DarkStalkers game all the way through to her first redesign in MvC3 is a bit of a running joke amongst Capcom fighting game fans. Well, I guess she was redesigned once.. when they had to give her a chibi version to fit in the Gem Fighter games. :)
To me I don't understand the *****ing about the roster size. I could understand the characters, sure, maybe you don't like what is available. But what MvsC2 gave was one of the worst roster, balance wise, in a video game since Mike Tyson.
No kidding. While I like a decent amount of the characters in MvC2, I can't really say that I like the game. Only having maybe 6 of the characters be worth using anywhere near competitively in a fighter with a standard roster of, say, 30 is bad. Having only 6 in a roster of more than 50? That's just garbage.

I can't say I've ever heard that complaint before. Any particular reason why you want that ability so bad? Not criticizing, just curious.

It was the main reason why I played MvC2 for so long. I'm no professional player by any form of the definition, but being able to double/triple up gives you much more time to learn a character instead of having one or two you're decent with, and a rest you picked at random because you suck with them.

Say if I really wanted to get used to Deadpool. I'd have to pick him and two other characters I don't care about each time. Yeah sure, I could just to training mode, but even with CPU turned on, training mode doesn't teach flexibility. That's why with SSFIV or the PSN version of MvC3, it stuck with getting my ass handed to me on multiplayer over and over again, rather than go through challenge modes that I could get two or three useful combos out of.

I'll probably do the same with the new release of SFIII:TS unless the new challenge mode is worth it.
