I cannot deny my own love for the twin crimson peaks of mount mammary, but I have to say that I like seeing personality more than just appearance. It is the reason why so many people like Alyx from Half Life 2- not only is she believable in the universe, but she is an also likable character.

But in a different situation, I would still have them be rather busty. Just because.

Boobs and Pecks
Zero waists and huge biceps
Long blonde hair and a rough "bad-ass" look.

Its all the same.

I don't really care to be honest. Looking at an attractive female character is more enjoyable than looking at an ugly one, and if there is 1 thing EVERY industry knows is that sex sells.

Would I play a great game with a female main character that had an A chest? Certainly.
Would I download the mod that gave her Double D's? Hell yeah I would

I think Sheva Alomar from Resident Evil 5 is attractive.

Though, as a mere man, I'd have to admit, the same Sheva, with bigger boobs would always be better.

Also,

An overlooked character from an underappreciated game.
I really need to find and play that one- I have heard nothing but good things from it.
Just who am I looking at here?
Jade, from Beyond Good & Evil. You can find it on the Gamecube and PS2, though probably only in the cheapie bins. It's a propaganda/espionage/government corruption game with the main character, Jade, a photojournalist who tries to expose the various crimes. It's heavy on stealth, but the fun kind, not the "oh crap I was visible for a microsecond, getting shot to death now" stealth.

Let me answer that by asking you this;
Can we make fireworks entertaining without blowing them up?
Can we make a good game about zombies without dismemberment being involved?
Can we make a good MMO without PVP?

Every single one of these questions has a definitive answer with logical reason backing it's ass up and the one you ask us is no exception.
Yes we can make a good MMO with bad PVP, it's called WoW :p
I said no PVP, not bad PVP.

How do characters like Lara Croft manage to move like that, with all the flick flacks and rolls and three meter jumps with two watermelons stuck to their torsos?
She wears a bra. There's a reason women wear SPORTS bras. I mean, I played soccer and have decent sized breasticles. As long at you gots the bra, you're good to go.

hahaha "breasticles"....

you made my day :)

ima use that word now, thanks

I see no reason to have a female character in say, an action game. They are generally just there to tickle the sexual side of basement-bound introverts who want to feel some attachment to a female.

In something like an RPG I could see a deeper female character in a less butch role with a normal figure, and an engaging personality with no interest in your character, and likewise your character should show no interest in her. Video game relationships are always based on lame sexual tension designed to get some sweaty, fapping young gent's motor going.

*EDIT* I don't see why people are so for big boobs. It's a little juvenile.

I just like female characters with a little personality so:
Ashley Williams
Cortana
Zoey
Alyx Vance
Those kind of women, physical shape shouldn't ever be the be all and end all character design. I mean I can understand the idea of sexual tension to help move the plot forward especially in RPG's like Mass Effect. But I've already made it clear that I find it really misoginistic to use women as a selling point.

I'd actually like to agree with Vrex, as far as female characters go, Cortana was very good in Halo 1. Decent personality, and either a subtle or nonexistent sexual tension with the main character. I noticed that they did enlarge her breasts and pay more attention to her figure in Halo 2/3, however. Halo 2 also deepened the relationship, making it lamer.

How about a beer drinking fat chick with pig tails and a shot gun?

Or, why not create a female character that doesn't sacrifice looks to gain characterization? It's fact, characters in movies, tv shows and video games are going to have a higher chance of looking better than the average middle class citizen. So why should people complain when the lead female role in video games is hot? That only becomes a problem when they have no personality and their body is used to sell more copies, which is all the time.

So i guess the question would be

Would you play a game as a fat man who's 40 and balding with a female charter with a flat chest and is not physically attractive but mentally simulating?
Well I'm sure a lot of people did play the leasure suit larry series. That covers half your argument lol.
