I which game had you been an unarmed character?
And when do you think it's a good idea to be a master in hand to hand combat.

I have played all the fallout games unarmed and elder crolls IV.
Sometimes it rocks to kill everything in a game with your bare hands. XO

You can beat a lot of stealth games effectively unarmed, provided you are good at sneaking around. Thief is a good example, I can't remember bothering to attack enemies with anything other than the blackjack. If it came to a sword fight, you were probably in trouble.

Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines is pretty easy unarmed for a Gangrel character. Game sort of encourages it.

I used to like just round-tripping my sword into a wall and punching things to death in Devil May Cry.

Apart from that I usually end up getting annoyed with the enemies and resorting to sharper / more explosive forms of deadly justice.

I tried creating a "martial arts" character in Morrowind once with full focus in hand-to-hand and unarmored. Unfortunately it didn't really work out for me, since you have to get through a target's fatigue before actually hurting them. I'm sorry, but swinging a fist into someone's face should hurt them from the get-go. I tried some mods that claimed to address this, but they proved to be unreliable (only seemed to work on every other enemy for some reason).

I started over and settled on an unarmored character that focuses on magicka instead. Combined with a magicka regen mod, it was an enjoyable experience.

Actually, there was this glitch when I was playing Black Ops multiplayer with some friends and the glitch made me respawn without any weapons. So I had sneak around the map searching dead bodies. It happened a few times and it actually was kinda fun, it added a sort of survival aspect to the game were I had sneak up beghind people to stab them then take their weapons from their corpses.

Unarmed is my preferred way to go in Oblivion. My next New Vegas character will probably be unarmed.

When playing as Murray in the Sly Collection today. He uses bare fists, so I suppose that counts. You don't play as him very often however.

I started off being a gun guy in New Vegas, but when ammunition weighs you down and unarmed attacks are so incredibly powerful, who wouldn't throw down their hunting rifle and pick up a power fist?!

Same as you, all the Fallout games and TESIV: Oblivion. I love sending people flying through the air with that ninja punch you do while sneaking in Oblivion. :3

If you want to get the most out of the game, you'll play through Mirror's Edge without using guns (except for one interactive cutscene).

Using guns makes the difficulty curve horizontal.

I did that in New Vegas. It was glorious beyond mere words.
Did you use unarmed weapons or just your bare fists?
I will not lie, I used the ballistic fist a few times for the fact of it being a fucking shotgun on mounted on your arm. Aside from the insanity that ensued from that, I did use my bare fists alot.

Don't you mean vertical? if it was horizontal the game would be unbeatable.
