My bad, Uncharted isn't an FPS in the strictest sense, rather a third-person shooter/platformer hybrid. And I just can't stomach hurting people of opposing races because it stings me with the feeling that I'm playing a game meant for promoting racial supremacy.

I wish developers were more mindful of what they are making before they ever decide to ship their games.

Wow....

WOW

I'm in no way, shape or form racist or a bigot, but seriously, I think your best bet is to get off the internet, don't watch any form of movie, turn off the TV, and just do something outside for a long time. Seriously.

It's people like yourself who aren't the "Anti"-Racists that won't let the subject matter DIE. In the US, we are all pretty equal here. Yes, there are ignorant people that choose to hate based on skin color and what not, but seriously? This is a VIDEO GAME. Something they want to be a giant popular hit and sell millions of copies and make tons of money. Now tell me, do you think Halo would have sold if it was KKK Shooter 3000? RE4, quite honestly, has never drawn flak for racism and is usually drawn as a parallel to RE5 that no one complained about shooting Spaniards (except you, obviously).

RE4, RE5, Uncharted, etc. are not racist titles. The setting takes place in Africa for RE5. I think it would be quite STUPID if all the enemies were wight. Chris Redfield is not some new character they created to be a "White Devil" in the game... he is a prominent character in the series and has already been pre-defined. Hell, they even put in an African woman as the co-op partner to even take less of the flak and there are white zombies, as well.

If you honestly think these titles are racist, then you yourself are hurting the movement, as well. You seem well informed and yet want to throw the racist card at the sheer change in the wind. Here's my best advice: Get. Over. It.

@ TheKbob: Then get off my ass already you ignorant disrespectful excuse for a Diablo 2 fanboy. I'm a huge anti-racist and if you can't stand hearing someone call a game out for something they personally dislike then you have nothing further to say in this topic.

Um... I'm a pretty active Anti-Racist and I've done some campaigning against the local racist asshats here in my city, yet I don't look for racism to be offended by. I guess it's because most white supremacists don't want to be subtle about their racism, they want you to KNOW they're white, proud of it, and that they hate people of color.

Diablo 2 Fanboy, eh? I'm a gaming fanboy. You have no clue the extent of either A) my gaming knowledge or B) my personal knowledge.

I'm glad you at least read my Diablo 2 Review, though. Thank you. I suggest you copy some of my forms and styles so we have more great reviews here. The Titan Quest one was awesome, that guy needs to write more.

And seriously, as Pedro says, if you honestly think this is racist, you need to look elsewhere. I'm sure you can find a lot worse IE: Actual racism.

I was looking at your avatar. And I borrowed Uncharted from my brother with no prior knowledge of the game's actual content so I was genuinly playing it for the first time ever. I didn't even look up any YouTube videos or Wikipedia's article about it.

Wow. Just wow. Hopefully the people who read this thread don't take this garbage review seriously and play the game for themselves. The entire game not the first five levels. I have played and beaten the game several times just so you know and would recommend it to anyone.

Hee. I work for a major metropolitan city in the United State. "We are all pretty equal here" is an ignorant remark, and I'm not saying that because I'm an overly anti-racist . It's because I have to deal with the inherent racial equality of this nation every day. So stow the bashing.

I'm not taking a side on the "is this game racist" issue, as I would think both sides will most likely yell at each a bit, declare victory, and then move on. Personally, I think the first two steps could just be skipped.

Congratulations, trolls, you made this topic worthy of locking because of your insipid bitching over an insignificant review that is not expected to receive mass attention nor valued for the hate speech that it is.

I don't think I would ever dock you for that, honestly. It's best to give the closest fresh opinion, because the longer you wait, the longer it either raises on a pedestal or festers in a pit of suck. Just realize your view on racism is very, very tight. There are very few who are going to have that mindset. My father and I are local supported of Tuskeegee Airmen and the amount of respect those men earned during WW2 is unfathomable for being African American during that time frame. I have personally been able to shake hands with most of them and consider it an honor.

Believe me, I love gaming, but to view RE4 or RE5 as racist, even after the changes Capcom has put in it to avoid more and more flak is also troubling... there is a point to not be offensive, but make things too politically correct and we start sheilding people from something they can themselves should be able to form an opinion about, sadly, for either right or wrong.

When I saw RE5 for the first time, I saw amazing game play and never saw race. When that Pure Pwnage parody came out, some said his Nahtzee was a play on Nazi, when even after think about it I only really heard Not-Tzee, or Not Yahtzee.

It seems you really need to focus on not on the superficial outside of these games but play them and realize that where the characters are and what they are doing is based around a setting and story, one that involves an ever growing scale of the virus and it's mutations to be growing globally.

I haven't heard you hating on Crysis, either. You shoot North Koreans in that. I guess that's horrible, as well... unless you realize their goal is to harness an alien power to use as a mass murder weapon of war. I'm sorry, but hugs and words aren't going to stop psychopaths. (You can tranquilize your way through that game, until the aliens. Is killing other worldy beings ok?)

And I'm sorry to who quoted me above that you deal with ignorance. I'm glad I'm part of a new generation then. I Go to a school and my group of freinds involves many different nationalities, races, religions, etc. Everyone is open and caring. It's ignorance that breeds hatred and I, sadly, cannot change that. If you choose to let it get to you, then they win. I'm not turning a blind I, but I would rather be hopeful in this position.

At lunch, asked a black co-op friend about what he thought on RE5. He said "Racist?,... seriously, no. Looks like a great game, that's what I think."

Be educated, be smart.

I think Cid is mixing up racism and using the correct actors. I mean, you go to a SPANISH village, what do you expect to find? Hawaiians? Africans? Germans?
No, you're expecting Spanish people.

If you go to Africa, what do you expect to find? Black Africans and white Africans who sound Dutch...ish.
It'd be a little strange if you were suddenly beset by Russian peasants in the middle of Africa, right?

Calm down, Cid. Not everyone has a racist agenda.

They're the ones trying to help you, they're not cursing and calling you names (aside from a remark here and there) while you try to sqeeze in an insult in almost every post you've made.

Just cHiLaX, if you don't like the game that's fine and go play a game you like.

For that matter, I'm a serious noob with FPSes on consoles (they should be banned in my opinion), and I live in Norway.

Are you finished flaming me with your biased ignorance yet so I can write another review without having to survey this topic filled with trolling?
I couldn't help but laugh after reading that, shows that you're backed up into a corner and don't have anything left to throw back.

"blarg, biased, ignorant! Racist! TROLLS!"

Look, your review sounds more like a crazy rant meant for the sake of bashing, but if you are going to do it hit it where it hurts, the only valid point you really made is about the controls being sluggish, which is true because for some reason when drake rolls out the way he becomes a lot slower, and he can't crouch for some reason (although it's usually not too big of a problem but it gets annoying at times) - and the enemies are on PCP or something because their cloth shirts can deflect AK-47 rounds.

The platforming camera zooms out and gives you a nice big view of your surroundings, the game isn't racist and "reverse racism" isn't "equality" either, hell when I saw the title I thought you would talk about how you didn't like the story or something but you are just irritated because you died ten times - so what I suggest is that if you hate console shooters (like me) then since you are reviewing Uncharted, it means you have a PS3, which means you need to click that "google" search in your firefox browser in the top right corner, and search the "FragFX" - it'll solve all your console woes with controls.

I'll admit that people were a tad rude but you set a bad vibe, reading angry reviews makes people angry.

Its pretty hard to work up the will to shoot Bambi. But when Bambi is so blatantly arrogant my trigger-finger does start to itch. Instead I'm just going to assume this is a satirical piece and not some kid telling me I don't understand racism because I have no minority friends (Untrue, stunningly enough) and I'm just some cranky old guy. Because that second option is just silly. Slap myself silly.

Now please, just let this review sit. Perhaps the OP would benefit from a couple days of siting on the review and the constructive comments, as I think both sides could use a break. As could I. Kids...

ok for one HOW is uncharted and res evil 5 racist?

let's look at the facts behind those 2

1) modern day pirates are often of south pacific extraction, some asian and some philipino, so that means they are dark skinned and probly spanish speaking
2) uncharted takes place in south america, which surprisingly is mostly spanish or portuguese speaking, meaning it's accurate and NOT racist to include those
3) res evil takes place in africa, where a lot of black ppl live, sure a lot of white ppl do but they are the minority

seriously learn what racism is first before you go spouting off about how something is racist when it's really more realistic than anything

ok now as for your review, here's my take on how it was made

Step 1 watch Yahtzee's review of the game
Step 2 try a game, that's not too hard, the platforming parts are pretty easy
Step 3 combine your horrible gaming skills and some Yahtzee's comments
Step 4 ???
Step 5 fail no profit

honestly soon as i saw your top lines for the review i was like "wow a rip off of Yahtzee" how original and frankly was not disappointed. seriously the gameplay is pretty responsive, sure you can die lots but what game DON'T you die in? if you haven't died more than 10 times in WoW or any game, i'd suggest you don't play games all that much and i'm guessing you never ever play death match
