I lost interest as soon as I heard Mark Wahlberg was starring in it.
Same here. I mean I think he does well in some roles (Departed), but he is not the Nathan Drake type, not in the slightest.

Should have given the role to that Firefly guy.

Suuurrreee that's what you mean ;3

Um... I didn't even know Nathan Drake had a family.

It's nice that they're expanding the universe and all, but... that's just an odd choice.

I'd like movie directors to be held legally responsible to follow the actual story instead of butchering it like many other movies. Like Doom for instance...they're DEMONS not freaking experiments!

Well, I don't know what I expected, I mean, I knew this movie would be shit when they didn't cast Nathan Fillion, so this is just one more reason not to go see this.
So wait the guy from FireFly got replaced by that dude from The Happening, really?

My God that sucks, I mean I dont hate that Walberg guy but Fillion had a smugness about him yet still managed to be likable, he was about the only guy I can think of that could make Drake likable and keep with the character.

Nah, I'm good. I'm totally satisfied with our sex life.

AND WHAT DO YOU MEAN ANOTHER REVIEW THAT ISN'T GHOST IN THE SHELL?! I had mine up a week ago!
As well you should be!

And I mean exactly what I said. I'm writing up another review that isn't Ghost in the Shell.

I can't ever make my mind up as to if I like Ghost in the Shell or not. It's... just an odd film for me to discuss >>

According to the OP, when they mean "family movie" they meant that they would be focusing on Drake's extended family, not that the movie would be one that would appeal to family audiences (although I would guess they're trying for that as well). The only Indiana Jones movie that ever did that was the one which shall not be named, and we don't need another one of those.
You mean Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull right?

Yeh, I got nothing to add to this discussion really, but that had to be done...:)

i think ppl are taking the family word out of context i believe he means there a group of international art and antiquities that are closely connected like a family

Is it ironic that the one film he was good in okay (to appease Matt, especially good in) was technically about sucking?
Very much so.

It also happens to be the film I'm talking about as well :D
That movie gave me a fobia of rollerskates from which I never quite recovered.

I know that guy was an asshole, but still; rollerskates in the face..? Ouch!

Where was family in the Uncharted games? So what, are Nathan, Elena, Chloe, and Sully going to have a moment later on where they have a big group hug and say "I love you" to each other while the bad guy is just hanging around laughing maniacally?

So Nathan Fillion didn't get the role, and it's going to be a family movie? Ha! Screw this heap o' garbage.

Did anybody expect it to be good? I'd like to think everybody except hollywood has learned their lessons about video game adaptation movies.

Based on the comments, I'm also glad I'm not the only one who rolls their eyes at Marky Mark being in this movie. For some reason I can't take his style of acting seriously.

Next thing you know they're going to be telling us that Shia Lebouf or whatever the hell his name is will be playing Sully (hope I didn't jynx it) and the Prototype looking monsters near the end are going to be portrayed as rabid puppies. Seriously, I don't think they could make this movie any worse.
