Do you think there are many musicians that didn't have or don't have the reputation and sales they should have? For me it's Thin Lizzy, I mean they should have at least a worldwide Platinum or something because they are simply kick-arse. And all my freinds say they love Hard Rock msuic but they've never listened to Thin Lizzy. This just seems weird to me.

Note: It can be of any genre of music. And explain who they are so other people can find out about them.

Bathory, the fathers of both Black and Viking metal, yet no-one seems to have heard of them, great shame.

Rusty Cooley, and for that matter, Shawn Lane and Guthrie Govan, these guys should be hailed as gods.

Mike Patton certainly is under appreciated, Faith No More!

I would say Opeth are under appreciated too, they are an amazing band! IMO they are the very best progressive metal band I have listened to.

When I found out that he recorded the voice of The Darkness in the game WITHOUT any effects added to his voice, I shat myself. Insane talent, right there.

I think The Mars Volta is severely overlooked. They're really great musicians, they just tend to use their talents in silly ways.

Jack Johnson, Counting Crows, and Cat Stevens (Yusif Islam).

Jack Johnson does a lot of acoustic "feel-good" music.

Counting Crows is alternative rock, and they are amazing.

Cat Stevens does a lot of acoustic stuff as well, hes more of a hippie singer.

Yeah, Mars Volta is overlooked, very strange but good music none the less.

Tool.

Everyone just claims that their songs are too long and weird. I say "Fuck you!" to such people.

Also, Radiohead. Yes, they may be very mellow, but it's still damned good!

Tool, the best metal or progressive rock band period! Far under appreciated yet they make some of the most thought provoking music and videos I've seen. Fuck yeah, TOOL!

Haggard are a symphonic metal band from Germany. They're great, but to most people they're still underdogs.
I liked their second and third albums the best, which were about the lives of Nostradamus and Galileo Galilei respectively.

Tom Delong, most under-Rated musicians in my book. Great guitarist, unique vocalist, and funny lyricist. If you guys don't love him, then you must all DIE!!!!

tool is great, lateralus is a classic album for sure. But i personally believe the greatest progressive rock/metal band is porcupine tree. Steven Wilson, the singer, songwriter, lead guitarist, and producer is insanely talented. He actually produced three of Opeth's albums, Blackwater Park, Deliverance and Damnation.

If you can spare 5 minutes, i seriously recommend checking out this live video, shows alot of their different styles in one song.

I hate the Devil Wears Prada, but Born of Osiris is really good, i saw them live once and they played their entire first album straight through...... it took twenty minutes.

So, you're an ass to people who voice their opinion on a band that isnt overlokked and are not under appreciated?

You know what, my one major complaint with Tool is the fact that all their songs sound the exact freakin same.

"well, you've never listened to a Tool c.d. have you?" That's the second most common response I get when I tell somebody that. The first one is a "nuh-uh!" or some obsenity followed by them crying and cutting themselves with the edge of their Tool c.d.

I actually own a Tool c.d. and I've seen Tool live. I listened to that C.D. from first track to last track and it all sounded the same. I had no idea when we changed songs. That is not an underappreciated band. That's a bunch of twats with instruments seeing how many times they can make the same damn song and how much money they can make off it!

Anyways, an unappreciated band I would say would be Tsunami Bomb. They didnt revolutionize anything butthey made terrific music in a short enough span before they broke up.

Jesus man, take a proverbial chill pill. It was a joke. I respect people's opinions and I would never say fuck you to anyone who had a proper argument. However, your argument became improper at about the second paragraph. So, thank you sir for the completely uncalled for rant, as well as the bullshit statements you made in said rant, that were more like kicks to the balls rather than valid points.

Tool is my favorite band, even though having just discovered them a year ago. Where I live, very few people I talk to (aka: Other Highschool Students) have ever even heard of Tool, and even fewer like the band. I'm terribly sorry to have upset you so greatly that you felt the need to shit all over my statement, and I think you should look into being a bit nicer in your posts. You haven't been here very long, and being a jackass gets you nowhere.

Also, to kill two birds with one stone:

Ha. You make me laugh.

[sub] Radiohead may be the most overrated band in the history of history.[/sub]
What could possibly make a British band, the likes of which majority of people have only heard the song "Creep" from their first album (Mainly because it gets enough radio airtime to compete with the newest Rhianna single. That said, it's easily their worst song.), ever be overrated?

It took a long time for me to get used to Radiohead, then one day I had an ephiphany while listening to "No Surprises". Turns out Radiohead is exactly like Bob Dylan, they write great songs but you must get through the singing first.

Covers of Radiohead and Dylan always turn out amazing.

My underated band would be Okkervil River, slightly contrived, but still musically excellent
