Squekers I don't mind if their not too loud or mature. I mainly hate immature 16 - 40 year olds, I mean piss off, your old enough to have a job and you can't get over black people or sexual orientation.

Kids can be a little tiresome, I know I was, but some can be nice.

I dont mind underage gamers as long as they dont spend the entire time on mic insulting everybody else. But the squeeking voices...do annoy me. Especially when its REALLY loud. Id prefer them not to speak.

it comes down to how they act, If they aren't excessively screeching, swearing, etc, then I'm fine with them.

I hate them but mostly for their lack of standard behavioral norms (like acting like a normal person and being at least 18 when you play a 18+ game)

At what point are you "underage?"

I'm 17 and it's uncommon for the people I talk to online to assume I'm closer to 20. I think it differs from person to person depending on your maturity.

Well I'm 15 as well and I hardly ever use my mic on multiplayer game unless someone on my team says "anybody got a mic" or something along those lines then I'll put it on because then we can talk about tactics but apart from that it's when I'm in a party with friend and playing multiplayer.
Pretty much this for me.

I usually don't mute people because I like listening to thier moaning when they get owned in Black Ops or Battlefield, especially if they're a ten year old.

Yeah, I'm a sick bastard.

Who cares about what their voice sounds like? What really matters is if they're spouting racist, sexist, or homophobic comments at you when you kill them.

Anyway, I usually just play local multiplayer with my friends/brothers, and I have to say my 13 year old brother is one of my favorite people to play games with. He's hilarious.

Those kids are not the required age for the game, meaning all the abuse and such is totally valid. You could call it... Parenting as it's encouraging them to stay off games not for their age :D

The thing is, a lot of young gamers, while their voices are somewhat annoying, the big thing is that they try to compensate for their immature voice by having every third word they say be some type of swear

Now, I'm not averse to such words, but using them just because they "sound mature" is about the most annoying thing in the world.

as well, have any of you actually heard a 9 year old over a mic? they sound like banshees by the time you hear them.

I knew I didn't like Team Fortress 2 and first person shooters in general.

Kicking someone for having a high pitched or less deep voice than the rest of players?
It's not because their high pitched, it's because their annoying and they shouldn't be there in the first place, as it's normally tell tale sighs of them not meeting the right age to play.

Just like making black people sit in the back of the bus or keeping droids out of your cantina... people never change.
lol that's the most outlandish, stupid comparison I've ever heard? Comparing the hundreds of years of racial segregation to kicking an annoying teenage boy who talks too much? Do you know any boys betwen 10 and 13? They don't shut up. I still can't believe you said that. Lol.
The point is that prejudices exist in all walks of life and are fundamentally no different. It all boils down to hatred and ignorance. Of course kicking a little kid from your game isn't on the same level as racial segregation. I never claimed it was.

It's not really the voice for me, it is the behavior that gets me. Squeakers don't get on my nerves too much if they just talk normally, but when they turn into a perpetual swearing machine, the wrath of the mute button is warranted.

Or when they decide to voluentarily give themselves an identity crisis.

Such as the kids who claim to be "hackers"

Or when they do the "My (insert random relative here) works at (insert name of developer/producer/manufacturer here) and he/she'll have you banned' deal. I'm still waiting for that ban hammer strike, JohnnyTsunami69.

For me it comes down to behavior rather than someones actual voice.

I'd take a mature 12 year old over a 30 year old shouting noob and calling everyone gay.

You know what, I find it very offensive when people used to ban me for the pitch of my voice
I was brought up on video games and I deserve any right anyone else has to play it, I am 15 and am constantly criticized for my voice and its pitch, even though I was barely speaking and only once or twice used any form of profanity, that was more or less directed at my own incompetence that anyone else's. One of the extremes was when I had been playing on a minecraft server that had team speak enabled, I was enjoying my self when all of a sudden I was banned my one of the relatively new mods, when I asked why I had been banned he said that I sounded like a 12 year old and told me to grow some balls, to which I responded to that I was 15 but he wasn't having any of it. When I contacted the owner of the server about this he had be unbanned and he promoted me to mod to take the other guys place, To which I am thankful.

So all in all I am just all around annoyed at the prejudice of younger gamers, sure there are some of us that are swearing little brats, but there are others like me that do not have the mental age of a four year old and would just like to have a game chat without being made fun of.

Peace Out

JUST LIKE making black people sit in the back of the bus or keeping droids out of your cantina... people never change.

Except that you said 'just like'? That is kinda specifically claiming it is on the same level.

I do agree with your sentiment, prejudice is present in every group of people, in some way. Some vegetarians use 'red meaters' as a derogatory term. The ALF, PETA, are lubriciously prejudiced organizations against those that don't share their views.

I think most people probably have something they are prejudiced about, whether it be their assumption about the type of person that plays a certain game(The flames that fly about CoD or BF3 players), or subscribes to a particular belief ( I fall into this group, I discount the opinion of folks who admit being members of Occupy movements just because they're wrong in regards to what that movement centers around. :p I know, there is no one purpose of the movement, it involves everyone from avid socialists; "anarchists"; people who hate that others have more than them(See: Work harder than); to students who want to have their loans bailed out or are upset that there are no entry level jobs with 60k a year salaries in their field.)

It's no surprise that some folk will vote to kick a person for having a high pitched voice in a game rather than muting, muting the person means that original source of irritation is still there, just silent, that should be enough, but it might not be enough to a lot of folk because the person hasn't been punished for being annoying.

It isn't fair, but so little in life is fair. I agree that if anything, games should always be kept equal, but if the majority of folk in the game are wanting to kick the person.... Ignoring their wishes wouldn't be right either.

That's not what I was intending to say. I agree, I could have worded it a bit better: "Like making black people sit in the back of the bus or keeping droids out of your cantina, people will always hate each other for one reason or another. People never change."
