For the Roughnecks cartoon, a friend once recommended it to me and got me to watch it... I lasted 2 episodes.

I think that's a show that will always be underrated. Unlike old 2D animation that still looks good- the first 3D animation used in TV shows were just... ugly. And I hate to admit it, but I have been spoiled to the point where I just couldn't watch a show about really ugly Stretch-Armstrong dolls in plastic armor fighting giants bugs with what sounded like Lasertag guns. That and being based off a book I didn't care for wasn't helping...

I'm glad that someone enjoys it, though. It is good for those old shows to still get some mileage, though and show they have lasting value beyond the fun action movie that I'm sure spawned it. And I'm sure it is a good show like you say- its just not something I can watch very long.

I can't really say Samurai Jack as it had its share of recognitions. But I fucking loved that show and still do. Bought the DVDs for pretty cheap a couple years ago. Still love them.

For Underrated I would have to say either
"Archer" (H. Jon Benjamin- one of the funniest people out there)

or "Frisky Dingo"
Both by Director Adam Reed if that wasn't obvious. I love his stuff

Um... I thought this thread was about underrated cartoons. Whoever underrates Samurai Jack is a tosser.

In all seriousness, though. The two I'd have to pick would be...

And Brendon Small's lesser known work before DethKlok...

Isn't it set after "Where are you" and before "What's New"? It's weird thinking of Scooby Doo having continuity...
I guess Scooby Doo does have continuity but it never really mattered. This series is actually a reboot, though. The gang lives in Crystal Cove instead of Coolsville.

Oh man, I can't believe I forgot to mention those two shows, Brave and the Bold especially. They really got the characterizations down. Batman's personality is closer to Batman:TAS but the setting and other characters are closer to the Adam West style of Batman; it's a great mix. It's funny to see how Batman interacts with the B-list Super Heroes.

COURAGE!

well.. any good cartoon actually. people dont usally acknowledge cartoons all that much.

more so than courage, Samurai Fucking jack.

I really wonder if he ever killed Aku. that need to make a finale episode. just... to end it you know?
Unless you know someone that can give Genndy Tartakovsky (probably spelled horribly wrong) lots of money to finish it, never going to happen.

Definitely Batman Beyond as one. That's about it. All the shows I like become popular soon after I start. Interesting isn't it...

Here is a list of show I really like but I don't think many people know about. Also some of these have been said already.
Chowder
The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack
Adventure Time with Finn and Jake
Code Lyoko
Batman Beyond
Spectacular Spiderman
Megas XLR
Samurai Jack
Ed, Edd, n' Eddy
Megaman NT Warrior. I don't know many people who have seen it but I really liked it.
That is all I can think of.

Okay, wow, I completely forgot the Men In Black cartoon show even EXISTED.

For me, it will always be the underrated gem of CAPTAIN SIMIAN AND THE SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE MONKEYS!

Okay, this show had it all.

Firstly, the main character was played by Jerry Doyle. Who also played...

And the big bad guy was played by.

Who's second in command was played by

This show is a treat for anyone who loves sci-fi. Its got references to everything from Star Wars, Star Trek, Aliens, Starship Troopers...heck, it even has a reference to I Have No Mouth and I must Scream.

Again. Shame it wasn't continue past one season...

OH DAMn, I used to watch Roughneck chronicles before school. Jeez, like 12 years ago. Same time, Hysteria, that show was awesome. Can't really look it up right now, and maybe it's been said, but I loved that show, and it was actually entertaining edutainment.

Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends
The Super Powers Team: Galactic Gaurdians

Those two are THE shows I woke up to watch on Saturday mornings. Amazing Friends gave us Firestar (and an Australian Wolverine lol) and Galactic Gaurdians pretty much focused on freaking Darkseid (and got rid of the Wonder Twins).

I have TSPT:GG on DVD, but unfortunately the rights to SMaHAF are in some sort of legal hell (the last I heard, Disney owned the rights so now that they own Marvel, maybe we'll see it on DVD.)

I like Archer. I thought that it is absolutely hilarious. What with the secretary who liked to be choked by a robotic arm and the HR woman who was sooo funny! And the fact that he worked for his mother who is an alcoholic socialite.
