Note: Please refer to TLDR at the bottom of this post if you don't have the patience to read through it
There have been a lot of threads asking for cartoon or anime recommendations, but I rarely see threads that are used to bring more obscure shows into the light. As such, here is a place to share some of the more obscure and older cartoons that you have either not seen or haven't seen in a long time.
I'll start with two shows I recently came across that were great back in the day, but never caught on with mainstream audiences.
First off is Starship Troopers: Roughneck Cronicles
This show was a rare treat when it first came on air. It took the best aspects of both the over the top action movie, and the Heinlein novel, and turned it into a seriously kick ass Saturday Cartoon.
It also has one of my favorite opening title sequences ever.
Second, I bring to you Cybersix, a thirteen episode cartoon based off of the Argentina comic series of the same name.
It was produced by a Canadian company, but the animation was made in Japan. I am hesitant to call this an anime series, as it shares few resemblances with the particular art form. It feels much more akin to the Tintin cartoons, or other French animations.
I won't be surprised if many of you haven't heard of this show, it was only aired in Canada and France.
TLDR
Post an underrated cartoon that you would like to share.
