Mario. I'm so tired of seeing Nintendo by making something gimmicky and repackaging Mario games with him doing some other sport.
Nowadays it's like if Nintendo took over EA Sports.
Nintendea.

It doesn't have the same ring to it.

Anything after Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Also, the .hack//G.U. series was pretty much a repeat of everything we already knew, just over done with terrible acting and character development
I'd have to disagree with that statement from personal preferences. I enjoyed G.U. alot, and I actually didn't finish the original four games.

Hm...as for myself, I'd have to say any more storyline-based pokemon games on consoles instead of handhelds. I hate how in the gamecube [as I call it] "Shadow Pokemon Saga", there's nothing but story mode, not as much go where ever you like semi-sandbox that the GBA games had. If they continue the Shadow Pokemon Saga I will start killing people, starting with my little brother who'd buy the game...

Actually, that's something I'm surprised I didn't think of. Sonic should really just die off nowadays..
they wont. they cant really. they young little 8 year old fuckers are keeping him alive! and the parents (who probably grew up with sonic, which is sad) are too pussy-faced to say no to their annoying little whiney brats
Or, you know, Sega makes a good Sonic game, after having not made a good one in a LOOOONNNNGGGG time.

I have to say Metal Gear Solid Rising.

Metal Gear Solid 4 was a brilliant way to end the series. It was a game made for long time fans, just pure fan service. It was brilliant. Metal Gear Solid Rising has no involvement from Kojima, hence it's Konami wanting to make a quick buck and deciding to cater to the whiny gits who kept complaining about MGS4 being PS3 exclusive.

I really am not holding out much hope for Rising. No Metal Gear game without Kojima's involvement has been good. The series should just end with 4 and be left at that, or at the very most, see if Kojima will be involved in remaking the original 2D Metal Gear games (Metal Gear & Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake).

(also I'm not just being some moron PS3 fanboy who's pissy about Rising being multi platform. I could care less if MGS4 got ported to 360, it'd mean more people get to experience a great game in my eyes)

As time goes by, I'm finding the number of sequels coming out to be absurd, and it's inevitable that some are terrible.

Which sequels, either already released, or upcoming, do you guys think didn't need to be made, or that you thought was terrible?

For me, I'd have to say the new Wolfenstein. I mean really.. it could have gone so much better, but I apparently paid 65$ for an only semi-decent sci-fi nazi FPS.
Sorry, but the greatest fail of all time sequel is easily Alundra 2
Anyone who disagrees with me is very wrong.

FF X-2 did not need to be made & should not have been made. CoD5 was terrible & should not have been made, especially since they were making CoD: MW2. There are so many grisly sequels it's hard to prioritize them all -_-

Mass Effect 2. The first one was perfect, so there's no need for a sequel.
I'd disagree. The first was great, but with a universe as expansive as that of Mass Effect, I'd love to see more of it. After all, we only got to see how many alien species? A dozen or so? Either way, untill Mass Effect starts getting old and stale, I'll always want more out of it.

Halo ODST seems like a good sequel, but why can't it be about where Master Chief drifted to? Another would be most sports games. Have they changed at all since the first of the genre?
Because ODST is a prequel to Halo 3.

I will agree with you on the sports games, though. They have made them better along the way, but I don't think there's a need to release a new one every freakin' year.

---

And while I have been a tool and bought the guitar hero games, they really just should have released it all as DLC, or at least as cheap expansion discs or something.

But what really bugs me is Left 4 Dead 2. Way too soon, and kind of pointless.

Seriously? Pokemon Snap was a fun game, in my opinion. Sure it wasn't one of the main games, but it was fun. I guess some people don't have patience for games like that.

And if anything was a Pokemon cash-in, it was Pokemon Puzzle League.

Bioshock 2. The original was perfect and had a satisfactory, stand alone, ending. I wish they didn't feel the need to milk the cash cow.

Well at least the leveling system was interesting even though it was the same thing as FF5 I think but other than that nothing good came out of it...

I agree with this disagreement. There's plenty of story left, and Bioware has said since the beginning that they're making a trilogy.

Indeed. Although I will admit I'll be heartbroken if the Krogans die out in the third.
