didn´t liked it, never read the graphic novel but i woul probably not like it either, too much "America Great Country" "War Is Bad" "Genoside Is A Tool" for me, to many cliches in the movie that i didn´t enjoy

FYI i am not "anti-american" i enjoy a good "America Great Country" in some movies, when it´s done tastefully, but i have to say Watchmen felt too much up it´s own arse IMHO.

asside from that, the characters are clever and real, they seem like a new subject and they are handled greatly, appart from the obvious "twist" regarding the blue guy and his "emotions" and the way things are handled by his "Girlfriend"(and the secret behind her past), i dont know, i didn´t enjoyed it as much as other "super hero" movies that i have seen, i would recommend it only to U.S ressidents, or really big fans of the graphic novel.

as stated before this is only my opinion, i am not trying to flame or anything, its just how i found the movie.

Yeh that is pretty wierd...and a lot of the time it's screentime in the film is completely pointless anways. Just there to creep people out.
If you were an all-powerful being, would you wear pants?

I thought the movie was well done. It will never be on par with the novel, but it's fun to watch.

The movie was made by Watchmen fans, for Watchmen fans.
So I have to read the book to enjoy the film?

Since when has that ever, ever been a problem in the past?

I didn't read LOTR and yet enjoyed the films, I never read Shawshank, Sin City, V for Vendetta or any of the Bourne films and yet I enjoyed them immensely.

A film should never be required for the viewer to read the book/ graphic novel which it is based to be considered good

It's a great movie, but a lot of the people who didn't know what they were getting into would feel that it's "just another superhero movie". As a "superhero" movie, it would be judged against movies like The Dark Knight and Iron Man, a group where it certainly does not belong.

Reading the book isn't exactly required, but to get a full idea of what makes Watchmen great, and why it deserves the praise it gets, it's definately a good idea.

I hadn't heard of Watchmen until I saw the trailer, like alot of people on here, but I thought the movie was brilliant.

I have no idea if any of what was said was meant to mirror the graphic novel or not, but I thought it was a brilliant film that, like The Dark Knight, attempts to show superheros in a modern light - as real people with real problems in the real world.

I totally adored the movie. The plot, the larger than life characters, the overall style and the writing worked brilliantly together. Best film of the year so far, and I don't think there are many more titles on the way that can top it.

Funny, I though Watchmen was crap and proved how unfilmable the comic is.

If it had been split into two movies it would have worked better (up to when they leave to Rescue Kovaks, then from that point to the end), but as it is so much is blended together, cut or somehow reworked that it just falls apart into a semi random sequence of extremely violent deaths. There's a message buried very, very deep in it somewhere but it's lost in all the little tweeks and knowing winks to itself.

Plus the attention to detail is mind bendingly shit in that film.

I intend to see it. I'm pretty sure I'll have a negative opinion, but I can't not watch it, who knows, I might be pleasantly surprised

All the reviews I've heard of Watchmen are unanimously good. I hope to see it someday. If I happen to see a redbox with it, I'll pick it up, but I won't go out of my way.

I don't think they would ever make a Kyle Katarn film

no matter how much I watch it. Hell, I'd watch it every showing. But the Star Wars Tales and game will have to do me

I saw it and enjoyed it immensely though I only gave it 4/5. The scenes that were missing from the novel were just to important in my eyes. That being said, the Dr Manhattan scenes were the highlight of my experience
