Cameron called upon Google, Bing and other search engines to blacklist sites provided to them by the government,
I don't think serious perverts use mainstream search engines.

What in the hell are you talking about. In that case I could argue that National Socialism is an economic model as well. The very basis of Communism necessitates a political component, which many people and governments are a part of. In any case I don't know why anybody would use Nazi as shorthand for Fascism since they aren't the same thing and unlike Nazism Fascism isn't inherently bad as many people who hold left wing political beliefs like to believe.

f*** this guy and his stupid @$$ idea. it'll never work. Internet = Porn. and i really hate these child worshipers, children aren't innocent, they are barbaric selfish beasts that need to be disciplined into civilization. I saw porn when i was six years old (on video!) and it didn't corrupt me and turn me into a rampaging sex machine. instead it did absolutely nothing. i didn't have sex until i was nearly 18 years old and i've been with the same person ever since. (and i've watched a lot of porn too)

The kids will find porn whether it be on the internet or not, my first "What are these AWESOME pictures and what is my penis doing?" prepubescent erection was to some collectible pornographic playing cards. Either way this is some serious nanny state shit that pisses me off, on the other hand it'll probably cut down my masturbation habits by a lot and maybe give me the incentive to reconnect with my roots.

This won't pass, Labour party will get in and postpone a lot of the unpopular notions of the conservatives, most notably the EU referendum.

I think something has to be done, but something can already be done, the tools are already at parents disposal to take steps to prevent children seeing porn but most seem to lazy to do it. (parental control internet/OS programs)

Another act of the government taking choices and responsibilities away from parents.

If parents don't want their kids to see porn, there are plenty of parental controls available on computers, either in the form of downloadable programs or blocks already built into the software/browser. They have the tools, thus government intervention is utterly unnecessary. If they want to blame someone for their kid whacking it all day, they ought to look in the mirror.

Learn the tech. Your kids may know a lot more than you, but you learn faster and they are still absolute amateurs.

It is bizarre that they can just up and decide to impose that on everyone. Better get your fap on while you can!

Although I don't see how this could stop unofficial stuff that isn't marked as such like torrents.

Wait, this guy is conservative? Aren't conservatives supposed to be against empowering the government more than it already is?

Regardless, I have a feeling Google DNS is going to become very popular in the UK very quickly.
Supposedly yes, but for some reason, the modern "right wing" is a mix of small government pro-business ideology, interventionist pro-military ideology, nationalist ideology, and "family values" and pro-theocratic ideology. Essentially the attitude is "the liberals want to control our lives and nanny us! We won't do that... except for those disgusting left-wingers trying to bring down good Christian values, they don't get freedom. And the gays are trying to corrupt our society, we need to stop them too. And we need to cut government spending, its wasteful. Except the military, that needs way more money, despite us not fighting any large scale conflicts, and instead fighting terrorism.", though the military point is more applicable in the U.S..

*sigh* Don't you just love it when your non-democratically elected government makes decisions on what you can or can't do? You know, maybe I will vote for independence after all. We never wanted your party in our country, Mr Cameron, perhaps it's time we made it official. Personally, I think we could do with booting him out of UK politics altogether, but I suppose we could make a start with Scotland.

I can see it now...

PM's Office "We're banning porn for the sake of the children!"
Fathers "But where we get our porn?"
PM's Office "You can call your ISP to disable it."
Fathers "But then my child can see it..."
PM's Office "Good point. Why are we doing this again?"

Criminalize rape porn? Well now I'm sure I'm never moving to the UK.

Also, V for Vendetta anyone? I saw an interview with Alan Moore where he said the idea of putting cameras on every street corner was put in the book (published in the 70s) because it struck him as being what a fascist state would do. Fast forward to the late 90s where the events of the book takes place...
And now you're getting the far right morality law. Seeing how apathetic you brits are, it will only be a short time before a masked hero blows up Old Bailey.

EDIT-

The LibLabCon are truly a bunch of utter cunts. Seems like the Torys are starting to fear UKIP, this is just Cameron's adept to make himself look more conservative and right wing. Except anyone with a brain can tell 'Cameron's Cuddly Conservatives', are basically a slightly less left-wing New Labour with posher accents, worse haircuts and the obligatory tax breaks for the rich. The inevitable media shit-storm, will make it easier for them to avoid talking about more important issues they are unwilling to address.

Of course, another epic coalition U-turn could be on the cards if this turns out to be really unpopular.

You all stupid? Its not blocked. It blocks rape or child porn. Why do people claim it blocks everything? I hate the condems but this is a good thing. End of the day, if you are a normal porn loving guy, you have nothing to fear.....only if it involves kids or its rape porn. In that case, your not normal and should be beating in prison.

The UK government doesn't make money from porn so it ok to ban and make up baseless reasons to do so, but what the UK government does make money from is gambling a far more destructive influence on children, the working class and families.

Don't get me wrong I'm not against gambling since I actually run a AGC "Adult Gaming Centre", basically an old fashioned arcade. Now before the Gambling Act of 2005 we had pretty strict self regulated rules which were perfectly fine. Now our mighty caring government applauded us for this and told us to support us and protect the public they would put these regulations into law so people wanting to gamble could do so in well run, officially regulated, fair and honest premises while also restricting access to gambling by vunerable people and making people like me responsible for those people if I allowed them to gamble and if I did I could receive a heavy fine and face criminal prosecution and all it enforced by the British Gaming Commission and their army of enforcement officers.

Now what people don't realise is this was huge con on the British people, buried in all the pages of this act was one very small change in the law which doesn't sound much but it make certain people billions and cost thousands of jobs and destroyed an industry. Basically they changed the law which stated every operator is responsible for any underage gambling if it occurs in their business too an operator is only responsible when they become "AWARE" of an underage gambler then they must act.

Seems small but this little change opened the flood gates for online gambling allowing anyone to access gambling anywhere and anytime if you are a child, have a gambling addiction and on the point of suicide, spending stolen funds none of this matters because the online operators are not aware and don't care.

Now we have the biggest growing online gambling market in the world, a much more destructive vice than porn and you're government gave you this because there's money in it for them and their friends, lots of money.

Okay, I am confused. Since when was porn considered something that would ruin a child? I remember seeing my first porn mag at the age of 7. I didn't become a mass murderer or serial rapist.
Porn is the front/distraction being used to bring in active web screening to the UK, so the government gets to make a list of all the websites it doesn't like and then force ISPs (and search providers) to block UK users from ever seeing them (without any kind of due process). If you want to see anything on the banned list, you will have to called up your ISP, hand over your name and number, no way that will ever be abused, no sir.

Whilst Cameron is talking big on violent porn and paedophilia, the bill will apply to everything, yay freedom of speech! If I were one of these ISPs, I would erase Cameron and the conservative party from the internet right about now to demonstrate the practical use of this legislation. Google bomb them to oblivion already!
Great firewall type situation then?

Really, it seems to me like the desperate floundering of a man who has no realistic chance of winning the next general election.
Really, the only thing going for him is that Milliband isn't all that popular either.

They tried passing this before, but with the idea being that everybody with an internet connection would be left as they are, but people signing up for one would have to opt-in.
The same people who already have free access to hundreds of free programs to block internet sites, the same people who with one phone call to their ISP could get as much help as they need to block site access from their computers using software that comes pre installed with ALL internet browsers. Yeah we live in a society were the responsibility of people's children is everyone other than the fucking parents.

Here's the kicker, the government wants ISPs to block a list of sites that the government gives them, well I am sorry but that is a big fucking no as far as I am concerned. The last two decades we have seen the slow and gradual decay of our own personnel freedoms by both the last Labour and current Tory / Lib Dem governments but this this is a slippery slop folks.

Err no, there are two things.

One of them is an optional filter that blocks all porn.

You didn't read it, did you?

The law would immediately ban possession of rape pornography full stop, as well as bringing in new measures to detect and block child pornography. However, it would also automatically block all porn sites to everyone in the UK unless they specifically ask their ISP remove the block,
