What kind of mathematics are you using that leads you to conclude that one child per two people is sustainable?
He did say "Until sustainable". I.e. he wants to limit the amount to one per couple to half the population of each country, each generation until it reaches a deemed sustainable level, upon which he'd either allow multiple births again, or limit it to two for two.

Different thing entirely. If the animals is hurting, of course it shouldn't be allowed. As a matter of fact some countries allow sex with animals, as long as the animal isn't hurting. And there are cases, trust me, where a dog would jump on a human who is down like a dog, and initiate full-on sex. It has happened before. At that point I don't think the human can be blamed, and called a whore for allowing it.

I do however have a friend who thinks incest should be allowed, provided you don't concive.
Would just like to point out, That isn't ME. A friend. I think it's weird, but there you go...
It should be allowed aswell. In Switzerland incest is allowed (of course first when both partners are 18). Of course this establishes the problem of sick people, that would raise their children to believe that incest was completely natural, and that everyone does it. It's sorta a risk to take.

I thought population growth in first world countries was a relative non-issue though in terms of world over population. Hell, if it weren't for immigration population growth in Canada would be stagnant at best but more likely declining. Affluent people tend to have fewer kids. And for the record, I'm not even trying to say that your opinion would be unpopular or anything. I just don't know what you expect to achieve with it.

As to the topic itself: eating a diet high in meat and saturated fat will not make you obese, give you heart disease, cause a stroke, or any of the other maladies people have been blaming on high fat diets for the last 50 years. Quite the opposite in fact. But diets high in sugar and grains and unnatural vegetable oils on the other hand...

THEY don't have financial security?! Forgive me if I haven't had the intricacies of the Occupy movement explained to me before by a person who actually holds them, but if they are going to complain about people being fantastically wealthy, then they better not be fantastically wealthy as well (which relative to 95% of people alive, they are [95% is partially made up, it could be closer to 90%]) or they are hypocrites. Is that argument invalid somehow? That if these people, who live in America, are complaining about a wealth inequality, then they should be working to shrink all inequalities in wealth?

It seems to me like the Occupy movement is mainly about people wanting less for other so they can have more FOR THEMSELVES. At least that's how I've seen it portrayed.

How do you see the movement?
TO me the movement is the protest of the government and their interaction with the top 1%.

Some of the top 1% pick a politician and fund him. That politician does well with good funding and gets some power. That politician uses that power to benefit the 1% with laws to continue recieving funding. The cycle continues and the voter is kept out of the loop. And maybe if they didnt get enough funding, promise more for the 1% so that next time you do.

It seems fundamentally unfair to me.

I think people are stupid for bashing fans of anything.

I don't care if the media that they're fans of is perceived as terrible (prime examples and most often coined: twilight and justin bieber), it's their opinion and choice to enjoy that media, and I feel it's awful to call them out and harass them over it.

This goes for the petty conflicts between sports fans as well. Friendly banter is one thing, full blown fights over teams who're losing/winning is absolutely childish and animalistic.

On another note, I find it annoyingly intolerable how the "unpopular opinion" is often one that, if it isn't shared by the majority, people are more than likely going to be bashed, flamed, humiliated, or otherwise ostracized for it. People don't have to agree with other people's opinions, but showing such volatile reactions to some people's own personal thoughts, however radical or opposing to other people's opinions it might be, is just being narrow minded.

I hate the gay community. All of it. Absolutely, unapologetically hate it. Why, you ask?

THEY STOLE GOD-DAMNED RAINBOWS. ASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSHOOOOOOOOOOOOOLES!!!

I mean, the rainbow was always kind of a fruity thing to like, but it never meant straight-up gay until the gay community adopted it as their symbol. I don't hate gay people, and I'm not against any of their causes, but seriously, fuck them for ruining rainbows. Fuck them all! You can't just "claim" the visual light spectrum! You can't!

Another, more rational unpopular opinion I have is that people are people, no matter who they are. They deserve a chance, even if their government is evil, or their religion has a few whackjobs that make said religion seem crazy. Dividing the world into factions, or even worse, enemies and non-enemies, causes nothing but strife. You may think this shouldn't be an unpopular opinion, and I agree, but it is, especially in my line of work (the US military). Now I can understand why some of my coworkers have adopted a "from enemy country = enemy" mentality and I don't hold it against them. I just hope they'll learn to see things the way I do in time. But this doesn't just apply to the military, it applies to anyone who sees someone with a different opinion or just someone who works for someone with a different opinion and thinks "that person is the enemy." Things are never so black and white.
I detest the pride community because now when it's not something special to be gay anymore, no one cares if boys like boys, they get their panties in a bunch and try to make themselves stand out and be a minority. Despite what those who came before them tried to do, make society accept them. fucking stupid.

unpopular opinion number two, I think the police/military should be allowed to just shoot every damn gang member they see, just carpet bomb their fucking hideouts. They can't pussy around these people, just fucking shoot them.

I have quite a few really unpopular opinions. Note this is all from the perspective of someone in the US.

Incest should be totally legal between consentin partners.

The age of consent should not be considered as an absolute and instead should vary person to person.

Rape laws are disgustingly biased against males and need to be fixed.

Prostitution should be legal and regulated.

Just because someone is a pedophile doesn't mean they should be persecuted and treated like a monster. If they actually act on their impulses, yes throw the damn book at em, but until they actually do they are not to be touched (tryin to get them to counselin because people who are generally had horrible things happen to them in their childhood is acceptable, forcin them into it is not).

To add to the pedophile one, any form of pornography that doesn't involve actual people (such as animated stuff) should be completely legal to produce and consume. If no one is actually hurt in the makin of the product, no one should be punished for havin it.

What happens in someones bedroom (as long as no one is hurt without their consent) is their own business and anyone who thinks differently is scum.

Religious marriages shouldn't be officially recognized by the government.

I probably have more, but I figure I'll have enough people goin to town on me that I don't need to add more fuel to this fire.

If someone says something really offensive to you or someone you care about, you should lawfully be able to hit them.

I have a growing number of throats I want to smash teeth down.
Are they allowed to hit you back? Who decides what's offensive?
Okay, knock it off with the "Who decides..." bullshit. That's a copout.

The line is pretty ambiguous...

How is it a copout, it's a legitimate question if they try to sue you saying "I didn't say anything offensive!" Also, what do you mean by copout? I've heard different people use different definitions of that phrase, so I want to make sure we're on the same page.

Besides, it's a moot point, since he answered already, with "yes they can hit you back, and you get to decide whether or not it offends you." So basically I'm imagining constant brawls everywhere. You can say "There's nothing wrong with gay people." and someone, like maybe the person in that example you posted, can say "That's offensive!" and start trying to knock your teeth out. *Shrug*

I have to say I disagree with your comments on the gay community.

I see a lot of people talk about their annoyance with how the gay community flaunts its "pride," but I feel it's justified given the gravity of the opposition that they're faced with.

There is constant discrimination against them, and where it is FAR better than it used to be say...a decade or so ago, there is still call to show people that being gay is not only alright, but something to be happy about, just like being anything else.

When I see a bunch of religiously fanatical people walking up and down sidewalks and streets with signs saying "god hates fags," and how it's "wrong" to be gay, I silently cheer on in my head to the gay people to shout them down with even greater ferocity (figuratively speaking of course).

If the haters want to shout, you gotta shout louder, that's how I see it.

-I genuinely like the COD and Halo series, I accept that everyone copying what they did well is bad for the industry but I think the games themselves are good and shouldn't be blamed for the failings of others.

-I love Humanity, even the bad parts.

-I think as a non-american I think I have the right to criticise everything bad America does and that Americans do not have the right to criticise my country in the same way. This may seem hypocritical but isn't really; what happens in America affects me, but what happens in my country does not necessarily affect America. I accept this is unfair but that's life, if you don't like it stop living in the most powerful country on earth.

- I don't accept that the games industry is in some sort of creative rut; no not even just the western part, I reject the premise that things were better in the good old days (and not just in video games).

-I don't think the American Revolution was justified, the British didn't really do anything unreasonable they simply wanted Americans to pay their own way.

-I reject any sort of white guilt, I don't see why I should feel sorry that my ancestors were dicks to other races (not even MY ancestors, my actual ancestors were poor factory labourers, not much better than slaves themselves).

-For that matter I think that Africa's problems are, on the whole, Africa's fault. I mean some parts of Africa have been independent now for longer than they were colonially ruled, there has to come a point when its leaders hold up their hands and say "yep we fucked up, our bad". This doesn't make what's happening any less tragic I stress.

-Humanity's obsession with sex doesn't make me mad, it just bores me. I like sex as much as the next guy, but I don't see why it has to dominate (or even factor into) EVERY serious issue and EVERY piece of music; or movie,or game, or book ,or TV show or any piece of entertainment. Sometimes a pipe IS just a pipe.

-I dislike Bronies "oh look at me I'm defying traditional gender roles I must be so whimsically eccentric". Dude its twenty-freaking-twelve no-one worth listening to cares about that any more, all you are doing is liking a kids TV show, which is fine, but that's ALL that you are doing.

-Vanity still bothers me, I know everyone is supposed to be that way now even men, but it still bothers me.

Got plenty more but that should be enough for now.

I hate pandas, students of "Hair and Beauty", and people who buy lottery tickets at the shop.

Seriously. Just do it online. You're holding up the queue for everyone while the clerk punches numbers into the confusing little yellow box that makes lottery tickets. If you do anything at the checkout OTHER than handing over money for goods, I should be allowed to smack you across the back of the head once per uneccesary minute of my day wasted.

Trust me, it isn't any cheaper in the U.K.I don't even know how I'm going to pay for food when I go to university next year.

OT: Although I think you're right to say that its unfair on both the parents and child to persist at giving them the medical care they need if they're in some way disabled, it doesn't change the fact that every human has the right to live. Imagine The problem however, is that the person who has the condition in most cases can't speak for themselves in whether or not they want to live or die (one of the reasons why I still very much disagree with euthanasia being illegal). I think in the end its down to whether the parents feel they are capable and responsible enough to properly care for their disabled child.

If we're simply talking about the idea that in some cases its wrong for people to have kids altogether. Well, I completely agree with you there. There are so many families who have children for no other reason that to claim childcare benefits so they don't have to actively go out and work for money. These people are absolute scum in my opinion. Not only do they bring these children in to horrible living conditions, but by doing it all they're doing is taking money off those who actually have children they need to provide for, who do this by actually making a living.

I have many unpopular opinions, but here's one of my favorite.

Morality is a terrible hateful lie that the weak uses to shield himself against what he cannot understand or what makes him jealous. Since we are all supposed to follow it and accept it as an absolute truth it effectively brainwashes us. So we have to become one of the sheep or insects, or be branded a freak.
You don't need morality to act rationally or with compassion, reason does the job alone quite well. But we are not taught to use reason, I had to discover it by myself. If it was taught at school there's be a lot less drama around. The nosy bastards after our money would have a harder time too.

You think you're using your reason right now ? Ha! Probaby not.

I actually agree with just about everything here.

especially your comment on the pedophilia part, which is something I'v learned is vastly misunderstood. pedophiles cannot help their way of thinking, much like how homosexuals cannot help but be attractive to the same sex. when I asked my family about their thoughts on pedophilia, they instantly threw some of the most radical judgments and punishments for people who have the slightest attraction towards children, purely on the basis that they MIGHT turn to child molestation.

That's where I become irked by how demonized pedophilia is, simply because the pedophile MIGHT molest children. just because someone is attracted to children, doesn't mean they're going to immediately force themselves onto a child, much like how a heterosexual isn't going to try and rape someone of the opposite sex the moment they have the chance.

on the pornography part, I also agree. I find CP to be absolutely disgusting and deplorable, because it's abusing the rights of minors. however, any media sexually depicting fictional characters? I say, HAVE A BALL. No one's rights are being violated, it shouldn't matter to anyone what someone does in their privacy, no matter what fetish they have that's considered "sick" or whatever.

This is probably a regional question, in Sweden where I live, only a small small handfull of nazis (which I think we should be able to shoot on sight) actually care about about gay people anymore. Yet, when pride came to town, their motto was essentially to secularize themselves, to make it controversial to be gay again. That's just retarded.

Pedophiles are not bad or evil, child molesters are.

The Western world is in decline, we need to either face it now and become self sufficient or we'll become 3rd world nations to the rising East.

I have a feeling that god or some other primordial creator exists, however I'm really not inclined to follow his word at all, who cares about getting sent to hell.. resist, fight back against the tyrant in the sky..

America did not win WW2 for Europe, the soviet union did pretty much 80% of the work.

All society that relies on oil will probably collapse in the next 50 years due to peak oil. Unless anyone actually gets going with alternative fuels for cars, planes etc.

In response to others: the LGBT community didn't steal you're damned rainbows, you can still use the rainbows to the fullest extent, the only thing stopping you is the fear of looking gay and so since gay people don't mind looking straight from time to time I suggest the actual problem lies with society still being unconsciously homophobic.. (there was a hint of sarcasm towards the beginning)

Here we go:

The obsession with correct grammar and spelling linked to the intelligence of point being made is just stupid. I'm a smarty pants, but my vocabulary writes checks my spelling can't cash. The english language is a mess so cut people some slack as long as the meaning gets through. Now if it is an utter mess... like text speak... then you can ask for clarification or just ignore it. But the people who take the time to just belittle and degrade someone for spelling and grammar are dicks, plan and simple.

I think that this (http://techcitement.com/culture/the-best-birth-control-in-the-world-is-for-men/) birth control should be injected into every 14 year old boy and maintained until people make the choice to have children. Too many children are had by accident before people are mentally, emotionally, and financially able to care for them.

Sex ed should start earlier and totally be more in-depth. Homosexuality should totally be in the discussion.

I think that everything can be measured and quantified and, as we continue on this path, there is less and less space for deities to hide. Science and religion are at odds. Science is about asking questions. Religion is about accepting answers.

Everyone is an atheist, but true atheist just stop believing in the last god or gods. (Christians don't believe in Thor, Hindus don't believe in Yahweh etc, etc.)

You can criticize Israel and not be an anti-semite.

Geek/nerd culture is overly exclusive. It has taken the ostracism from high school and internalized it. If someone doesn't know the entirety of DC comic continuity, looking down your nose at them doesn't make you a cool geek. It makes you a-hole.

And dubs are better than subs. (I like to do multiple things while watching tv, and subs mean I can't multitask as well)
