Okay I'm Atheist and a democratic socialist. I think that third world countries need to regulate their birth rates. Violence can be justified when people aren't prepared to reason or debate. Soldiers are rarely at fault for their actions. I have no problem with pedophiles, note that pedophile =/= to child molester. Climate change needs to be dealt with regardless of the added cost.

These opinions are unpopular specifically in the escapist community, not society at large, but here goes:

I think Call of Duty (any one) is a great game. Along with Super Smash Bros, it is one of my favorite games to play with friends, and is also an easy way to blow off steam. More oddly, I also really enjoy the story modes in every single one.

I think bronies are basically just crying out for attention.

I love almost any apple product, especially their computers. The number one benefit of a mac is that it is simple and reliable. I NEVER experience errors, and getting software and hardware from the same place just makes everything that much simpler. Also, I actually find that not being able to play games is a benefit. As a student, If I could download any free-to-play app that caught my fancy, I would find it even harder to get work done than I already do.

I find am more annoyed by atheists than by religious people. I personally believe that God probably doesn't exist, but find it hard to absolutely rule out the possibility. However, I have never experienced an attack of "Militant Religion". None of the religious people that I know have ever tried to force their beliefs upon me, or even really bring their beliefs up. I do however, know militant atheists, who do use every opportunity to expound about how ignorant or biased regions people are. When religious debates come up on this forum or other places, I usually find myself "rooting" for the religious people.

I think that sometimes my reaction of "thats just icky" is reason enough. I believe there is a reason the majority of humanity has that reaction to incest and bestiality for a reason, and no matter how much logic anyone throws at me, I will never support either of those things.

Parents are responsible for raising their own kids. Not the government, not the school, not the neighbours. Parents are, and they should be punished in some way if they fail to raise their kids in a proper way.

Elaboration: I'm a teacher, and have had a lot of parents coming to me talking about their kids. So I would say that their kid isn't doing so well. Some parent genuinely believe that this is the fault of the school. But if asked about the way they raise their kids, it becomes clear that they want to be friends with their kids. These kids have the most recent iPhone, a computer and tv in their room and no control whatsoever. We've had students who where gaming until 4 am.

I like Metallica's modern stuff. I know, I know. I've tried to change, but every time I listen to St. Anger or Death Magnetic, I just... *sobs* I can't help what I like, dammit!
Personally, I still can't quite believe that a mainstream, non-parody band of any genre can get away with releasing albums called "St. Anger" and "Death Magnetic" without anyone remarking on how incredibly silly it all sounds.

Fuck, there's a band called MEGADETH and I seem to be the only person who finds that funny.

I don't think Zimmerman deserves the second degree murder charge, a shit heavy fine a year long revoke of his Concealed Carry License seems decent enough...

*PRE-EMPTIVE MASSIVE FLAME SHIELD*

I think that most people put rape on too large of a pedestal. Killing is commonly joked about, and is shown frequently on TV, movies and games. Torture is fairly commonplace in M-rated games, and 18+ movies. I don't think that rape (which I personally categorize as a sub-division of torture) should be so much more forbidden of a topic than those other two, just because it involves sex

Les Pauls are overrated...

The telecaster is horribly designed...
Yes! I've been saying this for years. Les Pauls are very nice guitars, but sometimes they aren't what you want or need for the job.

OT: Ultramarines are damn awesome! I'd take them over any other chapter any day. Except Thursdays, they're Russ days.

I like bullies and think they do an important service in most cases... seriously people in the 1st world countries who run this planet have become soft, self-entitled, petty little pricks who for the most part have lost all meaningful touch with reality... adversity is a good thing as it either makes someone stronger or breaks them... and if they break than they deserve what comes with that...

all this "everyone is equal and special" coddling bullshit is sickening
yeeeeaaah....sure...

why dont you run along to some nice little warzone and come back and tell us how it went?

I fail to see how one kid being tormented for a period of time (somtimes to the point of suicide..or untill he/she has some serious issues that will have to be sorted out later..or never) is really benefitting society as a whole

we all have the right to get on with our lives free from the bullshit of others, we didnt go through hundreds of years of progress for nothing

served 8 years (2001-2009) as USMC infantry in both Afgan and Iraq... so I already did.. and it went fine.. I had fun

people who live coddled lives end up weak shells of people who crumble and fold the second any real adversity comes along

there is a reason survival of the fittest is the way all known life works

if someone breaks down or kills themselves because someone was mean to them instead of standing up for themselves and correcting the problem than the world is better off without them... if everyone just rolled over and cried the first time the had to suffer adversity modern society would not even be here... hell our species wouldn't even be here
Im sure you wouldnt actually want to grow up/live full time in a 3rd world country/warzone

weve all got somthing to contribute to society..weather we fit your definition of "weak" or not,

and also I dont think its great to judge people with an outsiders perspective, you cant tell a person with depression (depression as in the actual condition) to "get over it" no matter how bullshit it may seem to you

It may be extreme, but I agree. Earth is ridiculously overpopulated by humans, and it is really taxing on it's resources. Global warming would also be easier to counteract, seeing as we wouldn't have as many people driving around in cars, and not as many people using power (as in electricity). If there aren't as many people to supply with power we might just be able to survive on renewable energy (I may have used the wrong word, if so, solar power, wind and such), which would lower pollution A LOT.

OT: 1st world countries are assholes. 1st world countries are the main reason for global warming.

Notice how the first world countries are the ones who produce the most Co2. Also notice how almost all of the huge Co2 producers are located North of Equator. Guess where the global warming has the highest effect. That's right, south of Equator. We make the shit, the others have to deal with it's effect (for now).
How in balls name is China NOT red as a cherry?
Because China doesn't have a very large Co2 emission. In 2011 it only had 5,3 metric tons.

I think children with severe mental deficiencies (to the point where they aren't conscious of who they are or where they are etc) should either be killed or have all medical care cut off from them.

They don't do anything and cost the government thousands before they die. That money could go to a better cause.

*Flame shield up*
Dude I'm about to sound like a total bastard but I agree with you. I've got a little cousin who *will* need constant care for the rest of his life due to his mental disablity. He can't walk, speak or even eat on his own. I love him but he's only 14 and he'll never be able to live outside of a medical facility.

A pretty tame one by comparison to most of the posts here;
I believe that if someone I dislike dies I should be able to continue vocalising my thoughts after their death.
Q.E.D.
My P.E. teacher killed himself when I was at school, I hated that prick. He ridiculed me, took the side of the bullies and gave me detention for refusing to do forward rolls (yes really (at 6'10" they're not easy to do)
I continued vocalising my thoughts after his death and even people that didn't like him suddenly started remembering him in a fond light, what fucking hypocrisy is that?

Another of my views is that...
Being bullied for being gay or of a different race does not make you special. Bullying someone for something they can't change is wrong regardless of what that thing is, and just because you're a gay, black, polish hindu (not actually happened but exaggerated for comic effect) does not mean you should get special treatment and that all bullying should be dealt with with the same punishment and detest.
These people don't bully because they're being bullied, they're just pieces of shit that need to be dealt with quickly and forgotten about.

Also;
As an Englishman,
The French, American, Indian and German cultures are fascinating and to be respected.

Damn right. And I've seen the trauma it leaves behind, for them it's over but the hurt it causes for others is insane.

I think MLP sucks ass, and when I see people with MLP as their avatar I facepalm. Also, I like My Chemical Romance and pop punk, though if people are going to hate on me for that, they can go fuck themselves. Pot should be legalized and republicans are retarded, though these don't seem to be very unpopular.

(Edit: Shit, I misinterpreted the thread. Eh. It's still an unpopular opinion.)

I hate the military. Armies. The idea of a country leader getting into a pissy with another country leader and sending hundreds/thousands/millions of unrelated mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, etc to their deaths to settle it. It's fucking pathetic. The people the army you're supporting so much are killing are just bystanders fed the same bullshit you have whose families would certainly not like to have their son sent home in a coffin next christmas. I get physically disgusted at the "SHOW SUPPOART FOAR R TRUPZ!!1 DEYZ HEROEZ!!". If today's definition of a 'hero' is someone who guns down innocent people then I can safely say I don't want to live on this planet anymore.
The 'evil' one, if they even are evil and not just someone your country's leader is annoyed with, isn't the thousands of people your army kills so that your leader can get their way, it's the other country leader. Leaders should sort it out between themselves, not get thousands of people fucking killed.
I could go on, but I'm tired.

I oppose gay marriage, abortion, the death penalty, war in general, copyright laws and lengthy prison sentences. I support marijuana legalization, state-funded healthcare and increased funding to defense and space programs.
Yeah, it looks like I get my opinions from playing with a political dartboard.

Im pretty sure theres plently of evidence that fucking with people from a young age caues them to have serious issues...none of which are good for society

if somone has depression (the real thing) then they need medical treatment, just like somone who has any other diease, you dont cure your apedicitis by cutting the thing out yourself do you?

this is what Im getting here

lets say you have somone who is yes, physically weak and mabye a little on the shy side, he's also incredibly bright and creative

but then youve got this other guy who is built like a tank, loud, obnoxious and dumb as a brick...hes the kind to victimize the other guy...is his life really worth more? whats he got to contribute? other than being a thug

I dont know if your Ideal version of the world is a fallout-like wasteland where people are fighting left right and centre, but some of us dont see being locked in some constant struggle as the absolute epitome of existance

Im all for teaching people to resistant, of coarse "everyone gets a prize" is bullashit, being able to deal with problems that come your way is an important life skill...just because somone grows up with a loving mum and dad in a nice 1st world countey doesn tnot mean they dont have it. This darwinism attitude is jut....over the top
