Riley drew odd stares as he stepped into town, he had a bit of a reputation as a recluse. He walked over to a man reading the newspaper at a bus stop.
"You there, tell me, what's the Gic?"
The man looked up, startled, "Oh umm... the Gic? I don't know why?"
"They tried to kill me last night."
"You mean... the G.I.C. don't you?" The man stammered a bit, his goal for the day was to not get killed by a mutant, he thought fast, "They're an... organization, I think they're based in New York City."
"Oh..." Riley thought carefully for a moment, "What's the fastest way to New York?
The man laughed, "You must really not know what you're up against do you? Well since I'm guessing you don't have a car, it's about a two hour train ride." The man pointed to a train station a few blocks away, "They send a train every hour."
Riley nodded and walked towards the station. It was small consisting of only two platforms and a ticket booth. He walked to the ticket booth and bought a ticket to New York.
These G.I.C. people don't understand what they're dealing with. I doubt they've ever seen anyone like me, but soon enough they'll learn they never want to again.
