You mean the guy with the cloak and the Jedi Mind Trick was not the player character? Awwwwwe.
Yeah, I was disappointed.
And just when I was starting to think this game had promise too.
Midevil-style fantasy kingdom - good, lovely Princess - excellent, over-the-top cliched evil henchmen - amusing, bad-ass Jedi main character... what? That's not the main character? DAMN IT!

Maybe the society is based on Soviet Russia. You play the guy at the back who doesn't say much and nobody notices and then BOOM! all your political friends/rivals are dead, you're in charge, and people wonder why they never noticed you had a badass moustache and a badass name (Stalin). First step would be to grow a moustache.

I first read the beastwaine as beastswain- and I wouldn't want to be the person driving that cart! Seriously, though. A wain is a kind of horse-drawn wagon. I am guessing a beastwain is a wagon drawn by something not a horse- maybe those white thingies Emperor Douche was riding.

After, "We will not be continuing with this" I was so happy. I truly feel sympathy for you guys for having to put up with this nonsense each week.
I have to agree, this bit was pretty painful all all around even with your witty jokes and humor. I can't believe out of all those silly characters the one we play is so frakking bland it almost hurts to look at him. D:

You know, they didn't really make a good case for the Farians or whatever they're called to be evil. I mean, other than looking like they're plotting to capture Rocky and Bullwinkle, they're never actually shown to do anything evil. It's the guys in the hero city who are insufferable racist and keep saying DARN FARIAN SCUM

Okay, huge procession going through the capital of a fantasy medieval country. There's a young boy working for a monsterous character who liked to pose with his hands behind his head, and he's being hired to fetch wine for the ball. Other characters include captain of the king's guards and a princess.

Is this FFXII?

Props to Paul for the Super Mario ditty. And yeah, who's the douchebags here? The Farians, for having an archduke (or whatever) who likes to shove Brussels sprouts up his nose, or the Baladorians, who can hold a grudge for ten years just because one Farian impaled their Queen on his steely shaft?

And, honestly, I believe that any flutist who played that tune during ACTUAL Renaissance times would have been thrown in the stocks.

The guy in the big chair sounded like a whiny nasally Alan Rickman "is he now?"

Anyone else get a flashback to final fantasy 12 where a store owner migelo is trying to reign in his mouthy assistant so he can set off a party/banquet for the king/ruler/monarch whatever? I don't know which game came first but I thought it was worth the mention.

And a spoiler for those who care, because this actually kind of bugged me when I played it:

Evil Advisor To The King never does anything remotely evil in the game, despite that blatant evil eye camera shot. He barely shows up at all after the first part of the game and has nothing to do with anything that happens. Heck, I'm not sure they even get around to telling you his name. I was almost disappointed.

But at least you do get to have Old Jedi Guy in your party, and he's pretty darn cool.

Hey now! Mute protagonists in JRPGs have a long, and proud history. However, your PC in this game is really more of a mute 5th wheel.

it was as if the game said "...oh yeah, you're here too"
(I think that was a Philly accent)
