Meh, I just modded the caps out of Fallout 3 and am still figuring out all neat little doodads that have been added so I will put this game off until it does not cost... 80 fracking dollars, FUCK! Go to hell Bethesda.

Edit: Actually... that is only a dollar fifty more than the real life currency conversions, shit.
You modded caps out of FO 3? For what purpose? I mean, I'm assuming it's to increase the difficulty of the game, but I'm curious how you accomplish any kind of trading for supplies, if you do so at all. Do you just scavenge for everything, and/or murder people to take their stuff?

I mean I get that you can quickly have more caps than you have any need of in the game, but considering many supplies are restricted behind a trader's purchase screen, I'm not sure how you would obtain them other than simply killing the person.
Whooops, I was making a (bad) joke. I wanted to originally say modded the fuck out of the game but I felt that saying it twice in the same post would have been tasteless and decided to say something relevant so I said caps instead of fuck(irony). ^^;

In reality I followed this tutorial series and added a couple extra dozen extra armor, model, and texture mods in addition: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLWKuyAKXafnKv0fj3-6OlW2yh1XJGAgqx

Is there any reason that graphics are being such a good concern? I thought we agreed a long time ago graphics were low on the list of priorities if the gameplay was good. Complaints about the audio or the interface being bad? Fair enough, but a lot of people aren't even focusing on that.
Agreed? With Who?

Personally I don't even consider gameplay to be that high on the priority list. Number one priority is does it work. If this ends up like Skyrim for the PS3, or Arkham Knight for the PC I'll be mad. Which is why I'm waiting. Which is why I'll wait just a bit to see if there is any obvious this game clearly never worked issues on any of the possible systems before I buy.
Hell, I love New Vegas but even with community patches on the PC it's still game breathtakingly buggy, this game not being from Obsidian could help a little but I don't think it will that much, I am just waiting for the inevitable "Dogmeat phases through the floor" bug or "Game end boss moonwalks through an unopenable door!" bugs to laugh at and then buy the release copy of the game when it comes out a year from now.

To explain that last sentence, I've generally found that nowadays, games are released as Beta builds and then get a full release 1 year down the line, and I know that isn't technically true but it's the safest mindset to take nowadays with regards to games.
*Thinks back to past time he played F3 on PC with community patch and the bugs still present.* Yeah, it wasn't Obsidian's fault, especially since Bethesda was both responsible for QA and the 2/3 original release date. Then the game mysteriously gets a 79 MC rating on the dot when Obsidian would have gotten a large bonus if it hit 80.
Ok, yes, Fallout 3 was a pile of horseshit when it came to being stable, even more so than NV, I think my view of NV may be coloured by the sheer amount of hours I have spent on it over various systems... Don't get me wrong, NV is one of my absolute favorite games. However, it is still buggy and crashy.

Also, Yeah, it's obvious that Obsidian got fucked over there which I hate because it means we might never get another Fallout from Obsidian...

Update: At the request of Bethesda, and in compliance with federal regulations, we have removed the video links to the footage, which are in violation of copyright laws, which The Escapist does not condone.
Gameplay video, leaked or otherwise, does not break any copyright laws. unless that youtube video was telling people where they can download a leaked copy, no copyright laws were broken. Bethesda used its legal to abuse DMCA act to take down videos they dont like again. and then they wonder why Betheda is known for "suing everyone they can for anything they can". That being said i understand that Escapist had no choice in this.

Welcome back Gamebryo engine, what a pleasure to see you again. Well not really, but janky animations and subpar gunplay ho!
yeah, gamebryo certainly seems to bring the worst out of games. imagine what they could do with actually functional game engine!

I seriously hope so. Given how hard they're pushing the dog, though... I'm a little worried. Especially since the dog occupies a non-standard party slot in FO3.
Same worries here. im a loner when it comes to games. always leave the party in the city and go solo for me. so if i am forced to drag one along it turns whole game into an escort mission, because i will have to throw myself into the fire to save the stupid ai from dieing randomly.

Even funnier when you realize, they're bitching about the 320 upload on Youtube looking like shit. Not the game's actual graphics.
To be fair, even the max settings PR screenshots look like shit, but then i wasnt expecting much graphics wise from a gamebryo anyway. Bethesda was never good in the graphics department.

Graphics are, were and always will be important factor of any visual medium. there is simply no escaping that, even if you personally do not care about them. graphics DO enhance gameplay experience for most people.

Damn this thread is salty. So damn salty I could preserve all the food in my house three times over and still have enough to spare for next winter.

It's irritating. If I wanted to read people salt over a game, I'll head on over to /v/ and enjoy high quality shitposting, because that's what /v/ is for.

Escapist has all the salt of /v/, but none of the irony.

Its like people are legitimately upset over the game here....
