The idea of the blacklist is not unbelivable in my mind. Seems stupid but possible.

As to the update, well It made me think of a video.

PR at its best. Now we know who is running their PR a least.

Activision isnt really known for making good judgement calls on small things.

I dont understand how anyone could honestly be surprised or think they would surprise anyone when they unveiled their giant
"Black Ops 2!!!!!" poster or teaser trailer. Anyone with a brain that's been following the series saw it coming

Sooo... a new Call of Duty game? Stop the fucking presses, who could have seen this coming?!

Seriously getting upset because it was revealed before it was supposed is really idiotic. This just stirs up some extra fuss over the game and makes sure everyone has heard about the new game and sadly enough too many will buy it. The only real question in this matter is if the next game would be Black Ops 2 or Modern Warfare 4.

If you have a lic. to print millions of dollars ever other year would YOU put it down? They'll stop crapping these things into game boxes when we stop buying them.

i would say battlefield but i cant but feel the moment COD sales start falling the market(gamers) will(hopefully) be sick and tired of shooters. With that being said MMOs seem to be doing pretty well with guild wars 2, fire fall, and Terra online. Then again i doubt the PC market is bigger than the console market so any best selling game will most likely be on consoles. As for the whole sick of shooters. Well lets be honest if i had a nickel for every shooter mad since COD4 i would be rich enough to pay of the national US debt. I) honestly hope RPGs make a come back because the list major RPGs (on consoles)is rather to name a few Deux Ex(lets not play dumb THERE will be a another one soon) Dragon Age, Mass effect, Elder Scrolls, and Final Fanestey (Yes i'm aware i missed few these are the ones i can think up off the top of my head the point still stands though) don't get me wrong i like all of those RPGs(except Final Fanesty) but lets not kid are selves the list of shooters well out numbers RPGs, Oh well i guess we'll find out in oh say 5 years.
@Mygaffer: Yes, because I wouldn't let my golden goose rest die from exhaustion. I predict a short term rest would bring in long term benefits.

@Eveonline100: Games, like fashion are very cyclical things as you mentioned. Even though I am very fond of a good FPS, it does get a little tiresome after a while. I think they still have plenty of life in them and it'll be a while before they fall out of fashion. If Activision worked on bringing out an RPG or even a genuinely mature FPS which treats the player like an adult, they'd do OK for themselves.

A proper sandbox cyberpunk game could certainly bring in younger players who look from a break from CoD. Bright neon signs lighting up an otherwise grimy streets. Think of a film like The Gene Generation or even a game like Syndicate with the mechanics and faction choices of Skyrim and maybe sprinkle some speech checks like Mass Effect.

It'd be an ambitious game, but it is different.

The story can be about smashing the state, or simply industrial espionage or something, but such a game would surely wow even the CoD crowd.

And this, everyone, is why EVERY game from ActiBlizz/EA and other major publishers will NEVER, EVER get a bad score.

If anyone dares to say that there is no such things as "paid reviews" then someone should slap their shit. Hard.

I'm looking at you Escapist, you and your disgraceful review of Dragonage 2. Honestly, now you have opinion of the lowest of low sites. Also, last review I bothered with here.

Funny how Activision's games never interest me, but their business practices keep me amused for hours!!

I'm guessing they live by the "Any PR is good PR" idea. Even if it's complete and utter rubbish!

Just once, I'd like to see a report about Activision doing something positive or making a good impression. Is that too much to ask?
Ohhhhh we can't have that! Activision is currently duking it out with EA to decide who gets the crown of "Biggest Bunch of Pricks in the Gaming Industry."
Hey, don't forget Ubisoft.

OT: We all know it's coming. Apparently, some people still get excited by it. Guess which one of those sentences makes me want to cry!

It's both.

At least the magazine manned up and told them to fuck off. They're journalists, not advertising.
Oh no! A dev is making a game I wont like! How terrible!
Not quite, but nice try. 6.5/10.

I just don't understand why they're so butthurt about it. I mean seriously, I'd have been suprised if it WASN'T Black Ops 2. Who do they think they are? The most cunning game developer in the world? They're not too bright if they seriously think that this suprised a ton of people.

My current level of care is through the roof. -_-

Seriously though, I'm not sure why Activision bother with the secrecy anymore when it comes to COD. We know it's coming, we know who's developing and we know what it's going to be about.

I'd be more shocked if they made an announcement that they were abandoning COD in favour of making point and click adventure games about a sponge.
