Good to see they're pouring all their Mass Effect resources into making a kick ass single player game.
That would be because ol Shepard was rebuilt by Cerberus and last time I looked them up in the codex they were a pro-human organisation. I didn't feel ME2 was all about humans at all - especially when Shep can shag most of the aliens onboard! And we did get to check out new worlds and cultures. Nearly the entire game is set in the Terminus systems which is mainly run by the Batarians. We also get an indepth look into the Krogans and the Geth! Heck we even get to visit the migrant fleet.CosmicCommander said:On another note; ever since Mass Effect 2, it seems the focus of the player's actions is less about the Galaxy as a whole, and more about humanity... Which contradicts the original premise of Mass Effect. Y'know... The whole save the galaxy and work with everyone. I thought the big thing about the first Mass Effect was the exploration of worlds and cultures, and the insight into the Galaxy. Now... It just seems all about humans. And human's are boring.
I'm pretty concerned that Mass Effect 3 is going to be stupid... And that'll be a stretch, after my scorn of Mass Effect 2's story.
Honestly I would too, but I would rather see coop be the focus and not some tacked on game mode. I say it'd be better if the finished the triligy then made a whole new game set in the universe.Flying-Emu said:dohohoho you so funnyPatrick_and_the_ricks said:Good, the main fan base does not want multiplayer in Mass effect 3 and I have to agree. I don't hate the idea of a multiplayer Mass Effect game, but I'd like to see the triligy end before we see Mass Effect: Brotherhood.
(Get the joke?)
I would like co-op in my Mass Effect.
My theory on this is as follows: Shepard defeated Sovereign, Shepard is human. Then Shepard defeated the Collectors. Yes he had help in doing so, but he was the man who led the charge. Think about it, 1 man single handedly delayed the invasion and he's human. I assume that's never happened to the Reapers before. That is my theory.CosmicCommander said:Snip

Allow me to clarify... Why are they starting with Earth? Why does it seem to be their priority target? It's a very bad place to start, considering it's at the end of the Mass Relay system, and it isn't the head of galactic Government. Wouldn't it make far more sense to go with the original plan of destroying all infrastructure and communication in the Galaxy by wiping out the Citadel. Then everyone will be scrambled, unorganized, and then they can attack Earth with ease.MiracleOfSound said:1. They're not.
The Reapers wipe out all civilised worlds when they come for their little visits.
No it doesn't. Think of it... seeing as Earth is at the end of the line in the Mass Relay system, they'll have their backs against the wall if the other races turn up. And the fact that destroying a single planet will not screw things up at all for the rest of the Galaxy. You see, the Reapers rely on blitzkrieg; they can instantly wipe out foes, but they can't wage any defensive battles with ease. As omnipotent beings of logic, obviously they should realise that a quick attack on the infrastructure and military is their best bet, instead of waging a static war which leaves them easy targets.2. It makes sense they target Earth first...

That's right, and that's what logically should happen if Shepherd works for Cerberus. But I thought Mass Effect was about the Galaxy, and not about the humanity. I got the jeebies by ME2 when I looked at the box art- it's all "save humanity" when supposedly the goal is to save the Galaxy. And all through the game we don't hear about the wider Galaxy, except for the Paragon Suicide mission pep talk. Other than that... It wasn't about the Reaper threat to the Galaxy, and the fact that the Collectors were using humans to further the Reaper threat to every sentient being, we just heard about the stakes to humanity.Dwarfman said:That would be because ol Shepard was rebuilt by Cerberus and last time I looked them up in the codex they were a pro-human organisation.
You know what? I just thought of a good simile. It's like pineapple on your pizza. Some people like it and some people don't but the fact is that you're not meant to have pineapple on pizza.Flamezdudes said:Good. I don't want in my Mass Effect!
I'd sooner say the story of Shepard should end with 3, or it'd be milking territory obviously by relying on Shepard's hype.Onyx Oblivion said:The story, and universe should end with 3.
Then we are entering milking territory.
