At least the problem is being addressed. Any new system will have some errors, it will be corrected.

As people have pointed out, it is a good thing to just subscribe and then cancel, that way one doesn't have to deal with such things.

Wrong, fascism is neither left nor right, it just is.

Fascists are people that want to take control of people because they believe they need to be controlled, or they believe people need to do things their way.

There are plenty liberal fascists floating around. Fascist liberals were just so successful in hiding themselves early on that they twisted the term so that people only think that right wing people can be fascists.

Liberal fascism is real. A key point of fascism is forcibly trying to control the public. Liberals wanting to take away people's right to bear arms and eventually forcibly take away their guns is fascism. Such liberals want full control and they have to take freedoms away to have control of the people and guns would be a danger to them because if the people finally get smart to them, the people have weapons to start a revolution to overthrow the government. Reports that gun control and or banning saves lives and lowers crime rates is a dodge to try and hid the fascist nature and reason for taking away said guns. Doing so, leaves the people defenseless while the government still has control of the military(Though I have good leads, from people that I know that serve in the military, that if this happened, a large chunk of the US military would turn on the government and rebel).

So again, liberal fascism is a real thing, it is just that the definition has been distorted by a certain section of fascists.

OK I have to say it.

Communist is far Left
Fascist is far Right

Soviets - Communist
Nazi -Fascist

Both tried to stab each other in the Face in WW2. They hated each other. The Western Front (Meaning Brits, Americans, French, ect.) was a slap-fest compared to the Eastern Front. Stories from the Eastern front are truly horrifying not too mention what Soviet Russia did to East Germany after the war.

Communi-Facist would be like saying Atheist-Christian.

OT: ya not fraud. If EA does ACCIDENTALLY charge people, it WILL be refunded. I am speaking Legally.
What a load of bullcrap. There is no such thing as left or right in either Communism and Fascism. Libertarian communism is consider right of center and according to A 'Spectral-Syncretic Approach to Fascism', The Fascism Reader. "There is a running dispute among scholars about where along the left/right spectrum that fascism resides." And each political ideology is not exactly dipolar. One is based on the idea of a totalitarian single-party state with a high dependence on national identity. The other being a state with common ownership of the means of production and resources. Even in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics the Bolsheviks displayed many aspects of Fascism.

Because they spent 300-500 million dollars on this thing

They boasted about 1 million preorders.
Lets assume that was true and there were 1 million people who bought the game for release day.
If we assume that about 10 percent of those sales were the $150 collectors edition then all up on sales they made about $69 000 000. This isn't including the digital deluxe pack, so lets be nice and say they made $72 000 000 in sales instead.

Now, their current number of players is just under 300 000, according to ToRstats.
Given that the budget was $300 000 000, they will have to keep those 300 000 players subbed at $15 per month for 51 months in order to break even (probably slightly less given additional post-release sales).

If the budget is $500 000 000 as economic analysts are predicting, then they will have to keep every one of those 300k players subbed for 91 months in order to make a profit (again give or take some weeks accounting for additional sales).

Given the 30%(Minimum) cut Lucas gets, then the sales amount left over is reduced to 50.4 million.

Assuming he also takes 30% of the sub fees (reducing them from $15 to $10.5), those 300k players will have to sub for 79.2 months given a $300m budget and 142 months given $500m.

So, you tell me, why would they make it harder for people to leave?

And this is just to BREAK EVEN mind you.

In this day where EVERYONE seems to have a cellphone, I find it laughable that some folks wouldn't use it to make a call in a situation like this.

That being said, the ToR forums have been a bastion of QQs since the moment this game went live, so I'm willing to bet that this is being blown out of proportion.
Oh yeah, because everyone who lives outside the 4(!) countries biowares provides with customer support should totally just suck it up and pay for an international call to unsubscribe. Just a bunch of immature, self-entitled whiners, right?
Shit, even if you live within the US, UK, France or Germany a call to customer support will cost you more than the subscription fee you're trying to get out of. So no, just making a call simply isn't an option. End of line.

Excellent. I'm sick of Bioware being painted as the "good guys" all the time. Face it.

They work closely with EA.

They released DA2.

How are they still receiving goodwill from gamers?
What are you even talking about? Have you read EVERY response to this thread? None of you are painting them as the "good guys." What you are doing is taking a small bug, assigning meaning to it beyond what it actually is and trying to say Bioware did it intentionally. What? Did Ray Muzyka come to your house and kill your dog?

They charge you for customer service? Really? So the customer service line is what? A 1-900 number? First two minutes free and $.20 a minute for every minute after?

Quit lying. The blind hate some of you guys put into your posts about Bioware is ridiculous.

I believe the sales figure was 1.6m copies. But, I can't remember where I came across that. This could just be that 1.6m copies ended up on store shelves though, I'm not sure.

Regardless, the 300k users figure isn't a good sign regardless.

And Xugos's account was banned for speaking ill of the developers, as is EA's forum policy.

Also, I don't buy that it was an accident. Like I often say, if it wasn't EA I would give them the benefit of the doubt. But, this is the kind of thing EA would pull to make sure they defraud people out of a little extra money so their stock goes back up.

I think that was the joke (at least, I hope so); I have heard many an uneducated prick using the terms "communist" and "fascist" interchangeably. Also, to the more belligerent americans, everyone living in Europe is either a communist or a fascist and they get very confused at socialism, often pigeonholing it into either of the former "categories".
Ya, I can no longer tell if people are joking or are serious. I sometimes daydream of starting a school to educate the next generation, but I know that I would not be able to get Accreditation because of how stupid the education system sometimes works. Ah, but to dream.

Well, as an American, I can tell you that deruglating business has done nothing but good things for us. Oh, that whole recession thing is just coincidental.

And guaranteeing customer service would be even worse, let me tell you. If people could just cancel their subscriptions when THEY wanted, it would be anarchy.

If you're having the issue:
Go into Account>Subscription>Payment History, look at the part where your credit card is listed. Remove the credit card (little 'x' next to it).

You've now cancelled your subscription to TOR. Have a nice day.
