You're more than entitled to your opinion, just as someone is more than entitled to take issue with it.
If I expressed and opinion which was pro-holocaust I should expect to be called out on it. Just as you finding the inclusion of a racist epithet in a game funny is going to get you a little flack.

Well, what if it was? In this case it was something very obvious in English that no-one thought to check. There's also so little text in MineCraft that it wouldn't even take 5 minutes to use Google translate to get the words translated if it's a language they don't know. I wont say that Mojang are evil or racist over this, but this could have been avoided with so little effort that it's laughable.Tubez said:

The only thing that really stands between the South Africa of today and the South Africa it ought to be, is (somewhat ironically) our new government, which has proven itself excellent at appointing the most corrupt ministers and officials it can find. Embezzlement, fraud, and corruption is pretty much the usual thing here. Everything from law enforcement to state-funded housing projects is a bloody joke, and crime is more rampantly violent than just about anywhere else. What we need is another Mandela to take the reins of presidency. What we got instead was a rapist who regularly sings such fond hits as "Bring Me My Machine Gun" at political rallies, and a government Youth League leader who was recently suspended (after much court deliberation) for rousing thousands-strong crowds with old struggle ballads such as "Kill the Boer" and "One Settler, One Bullet".
But such is life. As a 'white bastard' in South Africa, I sincerely hope that our government is overturned by a relatively honest opposition party that will attempt to curb the violence and bring some sort of relief to the millions of poverty-stricken people who make up the majority of our country, but who still vote for the current ANC government because of its 'struggle roots'. Because, for God's sake, we're all human beings. Black and white aside, this government is running us into the ground.

Racism is not funny. It is some sick shit that is a scourge in this world.
This incident in Minecraft however is not fundamentally racist. It is the work of a troll, albeit a poor-quality one who has bad taste, who was specifically trying to piss people off who would fly off the handle at the very mention of the word '******' without realizing that is exactly what he wanted you to do.
I do not think racism itself is funny. On the other hand, I think that people overreacting and calling this racist without stopping to think about this is funny. It is a demonstration of the fact that people give such power to certain words that they can't see this word being used in any connotation except as a racial slur to insult black people.
It is not the word itself that is offensive, but the context that it is used. In this specific case, I seriously doubt this was done to insult black people, but rather to make people like you and that other guy earlier rage like crazy. Your blind rage amuses me.

Hehe. That's kinda funny in an 'Oh dear' sort of way. If you're going to troll (and let's be honest, that is a great trolling opportunity for trolling types), you could at least do it with more subtlety and do something that's funny in it's own right. To be fair, I don't think Mojang are at much fault, it would be a bit pointless for them to check every language on there, despite not understanding them. Still, it is only a pre-release, so this is pretty much exactly what it is for.
