Monkey Island, of course, will never end. EVER.
That's true, but they could at least go back to the third game's goood graphics style instead of the world's crappiest 3D.

Honestly, I think its going to be a New X-wing or Tie Fighter game from them. But I am excited if is going to be a new adventure game. Then again, look what fucking happend to Sam and Max: Freelance Police and Full Throttle: Hell on Wheels.
If they do make a new X-Wing game, then please for the love of Hovis let Totally Games (the developer that originally worked on them) work on it!

That picture kind of looks like a dark side Obi-wan...Darth Kenobi?

Is that a clue?
Might be a reference to The Force unleashed (much rumoured) sequel, although it's similar to some concept art on The Old Republic, I know a lot of people wanted a Jedi Knight 4, to be developed, maybe LA gave in to popular demand?

If it is TFU 2 then can they please give us a game without the bugs, and key moment/intro game freezes, or DLC that doesn't seem to have any effort put into it (heck I can make skins of characters with the same saber stance).

I'd be more excited about a Republic Commando sequel, as the first one struck me as being a bit short for a great FPS...although I wouldn't complain about a Battlefront 3 game, unless it's the one I already know about from the Lucas Arts website that is being developed for Wii and PC (battlefront Heroes)?

Loom has had a bunch of rumours for a while now, wouldn't be surprised at all if they did make a new one or an HD version like Monkey island.

If it an SW game, then it's pretty much guaranteed to wind up in my collection regardless of review score...although I didn't buy Battle of Naboo (the only SW game I regard as blatant crap) it was a freebie with SW Star Fighter.

Surely (as some people have already mentioned) X-wing vs. TIE Fighter would be the perfect choice?

The original (and the previous TIE Fighter and X-Wing games) were all great, and these days you could have a brilliant single player experience coupled with an amazing multiplayer.

I reckon my favourite was TIE fighter though, you needed to be that little bit better when you have no shields to hide behind...

It's got to be KOTOR 3 or some other KOTOR game. That's my official prediction.
I think The Old Republic is KOTOR 3, if Bioware are working on it (and have time between developing TOR for release in January), then they are keeping very hush about it.

This series of launches continues LucasArts? new mission to revitalize its deep portfolio

two new projects due to be released in the near future. Tomorrow, July 7, Telltale will
premiere the Tales of Monkey Island® game series on PC, delivering a completely new
epic storyline and swashbuckling flair that will unfold across five monthly episodes. The
first Tales of Monkey Island chapter is expected to release for WiiWare? in the coming
weeks as well.

The Monkey Island celebration continues on July 15 when LucasArts publishes The
Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition, a completely re-imagined version of the first

score, and full voiceover to the classic adventure game originally launched in 1990. The

UPDATE: Well, the cat's out of the bag, and what a cat it is! LucasArts have partnered up with Valve to release ten classic games on Steam.

On Wednesday, you'll be able to buy:

  • [li]Armed and Dangerous[/li]
[li]Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis[/li]
[li]Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: The Graphic Adventure[/li]
[li]LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventure[/li]
    [li]LOOM[/li]
    [li]Star Wars Battlefront II[/li]
    [li]Star Wars Republic Commando[/li]
    [li]Star Wars Starfighter[/li]
    [li]The Dig[/li]
    [li]Thrillville: Off the Rails[/li]

What makes this even sweeter is that this is the 'first round' of releases, with more to come in the future.

In the press release announcing the deal, Darrell Rodriguez, president of LucasArts said:

Grim Fandango via Steam? I can't wait!
POWERFULLY lame. The only one I would consider buying is Armed and Dangerous, and even that is mostly for the nostalgia/land shark gun.

And as awesome as Grim Fandango over Steam would be, I'll believe it when I see it. I've lost all faith in LucasArts, and this has reaffirmed it. I was hoping for a new game from an old franchise, and instead we got a few lacklustre titles released over Steam...

Awesome! I always really wanted to play The Dig. The absence of Day of the Tentacle and Sam & Max Hit the Road is a bit strange though. They'll probably just come later.

Ah well. Good news for Steam aficionados, not so great news for KOTOR fans. Well, at least we have The Old Republic to look forward to.

I've played these two and they are good - Armed and Dangerous is good for its sheer fun and humour, Indiana Jones is a classic adventure that mixes things up and even offered around 3 different route through the game. Was alot of fun.

I might try a few others on the list, but... WHERE OH WERE IS GRIM FANDAGO?! I've wanted to try that for years. And where is Day of the Tentacle? That was great fun.

Anywho... I've a bigger question - does this along with the Monkey Island reappearence suggest that LucasArt's' might have realised that the Star wars cash cow is long past its used by date? I doubt they could make adventure games up to the same quality of the old day, but I fondly wish it where so.

Oh my god! A true 3 installment to the Knights series? Think about it! A new "old" project, it makes so much sense!

Look at the freaking picture!
A new old project says way more about it being a new addition to the Jedi Knight series..
I think he was pointing that they might have used the pun "old", as in "Knights of the 'Old' Republic". Then again i might be wrong

Can't see LA making a KOTOR game all by themselves, Bioware has made every single one to date, and they are working on The Old Republic for Jan 2010 release.

Armed & Dangerous was a blast, didn't get to finish that one but it was a fun game, upside down gun was effective and funny.

No, they've just discovered some old steaks at the bottom of the freezer and are flogging them off so they can build another solid-gold, life-sized Darth Vader statue for George Lucas' Doom Fortress.

Did I say Doom Fortress? I meant his house.

Woo! Now I can finally get a legit version of LOOM (I've previously played an abandonware version).

And I might even consider getting The Dig again. (I already have two [real, legal, disc] copies of it though...)

Still, the announcement is not as good as an announcement of a new non-Star Wars game, but at least it shows they're trying.
