I...What?

I mean, night vision goggles are cool and all, but if this is even reasonably priced they'd have to bee rubbish.

I'd like the artbook though.

What's Modern Warfare 3 gonna come with? A fully-functional AK-47?

Anyway, to clear up my thoughts on this matter: want.

Well the art book comes in the Hardened Edition, so you can get that.

one of either 3 things is going to happen: either its going to be rediclously expensive, activision is going to take a major loss on the package or the nvgs will either NOT be actual workign nvg's or if they are they will be very cheaply made.

i just bought a pair of high quality gen 1 nvg's a few months ago for hunting and they cost me over $800. a pair of gen 2 or gen 3 nvg's cost in the thousands, even for many of the lower quality ones. as i said, if they are real its either gonna be hella expensive or activision is going to take huge losses.

Dang I could use those goggles in paintball...
you really dont want to do that. if someone hits them, even with a paintball your looking at a serious possibility of damage, and at the very least it would be a ***** to clean them up (youd have to be VERY careful).

Yea, unless this Prestige Edition costs like $300, there's no way those goggles will do much. I'll stick with the plain comes-in-a-plastic-box edition myself. It's still ridiculously cool though.

I wouldn't get my hopes up about the goggles performing like they look (although they do look awesome).

I'm guessing that the special edition will be around $200-250 USD (I couldn't imagine them charging much more), so the goggles will probably work like these.

I've been pricing out night vision optics, and this is the best that I could find without going up to generation 3 (military/law enforcement grade) gear. I like this perticular one because of all the accesories that it can be mounted too, or expanded with (headset, rifle scope, IR laser).

This is well worth the money.
I probably won't even use the NVG's, but hell, thats a GREAT Deal. And throwing in the original Call of Duty? Oh you guys.. :D

Can't comment on their cost in specific. But I know from my Navy days that good night vision goggles runs a couple grand and the pair I used crossing the Panama Canal were only single mode.
Those would've been military grade and ruggedised, no? Maybe the commercial version is cheaper?

That's just straight up obscene.

Assuming they're going to keep the cost below the thousands, you're going to end up with a pretty low-grade set of goggles.

That is indeed fucking ridiculous. I would get it but I have a feeling it will be a bit above my price range. I'll probably atleast be getting the Hardened edition.

Yeah, but what do you think they get with their games? An old T-72 to play the video game in?

Damn that would be sweet.

This is great, I remember back in the day when you'd be lucky to get a damn poster with your game, now we're getting a sculpted head? Goggles? Artwork book and metal cased game? This is sweet, and I'm totally picking it up.

If it's under 250 bucks, that is.
