Yes, but your understanding is the one that you want in your mind rather than the one you perceive, and it makes your view of the whole world a disjointed mess that makes no sense, where all the puzzle pieces are too warped and damaged to fit back together.
So you say, but you can point to nothing except your interpretation of that one word, insisting it only meant what you say. Even though examples abound of it meaning other things, and you've now been shown a dictionary entry published in 1980 of it meaning other things.

Your bizarre definition of 'pride' is the peg that doesn't fit all the rest of the picture. And its also the only peg you have.

You do not have to take my word for anything, you can set aside the understanding of things that you want now and look at the past and see how the original piece fit into the whole.
I have investigated the history of the movement. But unlike you, i have engaged with what the people involved actually said and did.

Your concept of the movement is the one that doesn't fit. It is utterly at odds with the very foundational principles of it, and all the evidence we have. It is a hysterical delusion born of your personal prejudices.

I tried to put a picture but the forum seems to not be having it. Let's try linking to the address:
And what exactly are the aims and demands there? "We demand our rights". "You can't shove us back in the closet". After the only out politician in the US was murdered.

So... what, you're just objecting to the assertiveness? The tone? Are you conflating that (completely justified) outrage with some other unspoken aim to somehow oppress straight people?

Get a grip.

Incidentally, assassinated by someone with clear mental problems who himself has been grossly misrepresented in terms of what was used to show his mental instability. Dan White is often considered to have basically gotten away with murder with a "diminished capacity" reduction of his culpability due to a very bad simplification known as the Twinkie Defense. Many laypeople think the argument was that White switching to a diet of Twinkies as snacks was basically the whole defense's argument to show his mental state was not such to truly discern right from wrong. However, what was actually being argued was that it was severe depression that caused the diminished capacity, and the way Twinkies played into it was that it was used as evidence for Dan White's severe depression, as he had been a former fitness advocate that had suddenly switched to an unhealthy snack diet, showing his shift in mental state was severe.

Calling this a distraction from Epstein is a gross mislabeling, I'd say.
At this point, they use news on Epstein as a distract from Epstein.

This has got more to do with the Trumpian mindset. He thinks we cant focus on more than one thing at time. He clear hasnt met real people and isnt tethered to reality

I wish the age range and circumstances were mentioned more often though, because people get this really abstract idea of an island of child sex trafficking that doesn't involve them, where I think just about everyone has seen someone at some point take sexual advantage of high schoolers or at least express a desire to (and of course the mountain of representation in media that subject gets), and associating that sort of behavior with Epstein might push people to understand the seriousness of that issue.
As a person who had actually worked in a high school... no. Friends who arent teachers.... no. The closest might be when we were 18 or 19 ourselves

Do you just mean on the news? I seen news reports. I think there are around 300 teachers in the US convicted each year of child sex crimes which is truly horrific and horrifically high. There are also 1 million high school teachers across. As a porportion of the demographic, its very small. Its hard to actually met a predator or even one that thinks like one. Unless American 30 and 40 men are very different from other countries

There is a difference between middle class people overspending on things and people like the Trumps or Musks investing in like 20 things and only needing one of things things to hit; they can't be successful if they only try on bet on a few things that they think will actually hit.

Maybe she thought she was trying to improve themselves just switching companies for the same exact job, but that job itself isn't something you'd want to stay in. She is also very much like my mom that turns every little molehill into a mountain, so she easily gets overwhelmed by doing anything sorta big or a big change. She has some excuse for literally everything for why she can't do certain things even down to she has to drink pop because she can't drink water for some reason (oh, "I" can't do that because some unique/special thing that "I" have; no, you can do that, you just don't want to). Yeah, it is almost pointless to try to help such people unless they are family essentially or else you would just lose the friendship.
Ah.... you, of all people, are complaining about people making mountains out of mole hills?

I dont know how many times you have blamed everyone else instead of your own research

Also, anytime MAGA or MAHA blame experts or say Fake News, its exactly the same thing. At least your mum and friend dont make everyone problem

What the hell are you talking about? I was the one saying how everyone overreacted to covid. I went to the bar more in 2020 than I did in my whole life. I got covid before anything was even done in the US so I literally didn't care about it because I didn't have to; natural immunity. It was your guys' "science" trying to act like natural immunity wasn't a thing which made no sense because if natural immunity doesn't work than your vaccine doesn't work either. When you look at the entirely of what people did for covid precautions (pre vaccination), it actually made people more susceptible covid.

My results speak for my research. I'm over 40 and never taken even a Tylenol or Advil or Aleve in my whole life nor even been prescribed a drug. I've lost probably over 100 ounces (not sure what my weight was) all by doing my own research and it was pretty easy once you realize what the actual foods are and don't listen to the actual guidelines (like the horrible lie that fat is bad for you). What pretty much any diet or dietician tells you to do only makes being healthy harder. Same with drugs, statins (the most prescribed drug) lower your GLP-1, then they sell you a drug that increases your GLP-1. You have the ability to do it all yourself.

I know I talk about how the two parties are the same but this is ridiculous!
You know what, I'll contest that image. If Hillary were putting out, Bill wouldn't have had to go to Lewinski or Trump.

That being said, I have no idea why Hillary ran against Trump if her husband would pick Trump over her too.

No opinion on the explicit callout of gay men who present to "het"? Nothing about the bloody axe?

At some point, you're going to have to concede that it's not just one thing, there were competing movements advocating for gay rights, some of whom were not interested in a live and let live world. Then you can consider which of these groups Pride came out of. Perhaps the name Fight Repression of Erotic Expression is a hint...

?! No, not really, because that's completely irrelevant to your original point. You seem to have just shifted to arguing that sometimes they were rude or mean. Yes. Some were.

Not really. Swords, axes, spears etc are extremely common graphic choices for countless movements.

I'm perfectly aware there were competing movements; I am better informed about the history of the gay rights movement than you are.

"Pride" came from within FREE (which, by the way, is a perfectly innocuous name; fighting repression of erotic expression is a valid description). Pride then gradually became a wider umbrella encompassing countless groups and the wider movement. It was understood as a demand for equal rights, human respect and an end to discrimination and repression.

This is perfectly in line with how the word "pride" was understood-- and dictionary defined-- even during the 1970s. It is attested in their writings, words and material (some of which was a bit mean or rude!)

It can't be that innocuous of a name. It has "fight" right there in the title. As we all know, anyone trying to get rights ever has just gotten them politely asking, so to even stand up for yourself firmly means you are in the wrong. Just look at how peaceful everything in the Bible is. That's how things should be done. This is complete sarcasm, in case it isn't blooming obvious.
