This is extremely silly. Doesn't she think that parents should actually, you know parent their children? Not to mention that at most stores it is store policy too not let children buy age-inappropriate games without parental consent. By the way, what games she been playing lately? Postal 2 or something?
no probably GTA Vice City (i think thats the one with the mall)

on another note is your picture of Johan from Monster?

Why is it that I don't need to be carded for just about any book despite the fact that a lot of them without plastic wrap or a warning on them do indeed have things much worse than most videogames will ever have (said books, where to see the story, I have to create visuals in my mind, meaning that it's thought about more than any visual medium), but when it comes to games with some blood or even a glimpse of nudity require me to show off my ID? (Here's an example: Halo and its books. One requires an ID and has at most what looks like paint on the ground after you shoot an enemy, the other has details about what a bullet does to flesh, bones breaking and piercing skin, melting flesh, nudity, and seeing through the eyes of someone about to die and I could have a five year old buy it).
Good point, I once bought an ecchi manga (I didnt know that plastic wrapping = adult), and it passed perfectly through. Then I go for Bioshock, and my mom needs to be ID'd.
Im twelve, and this is what we call treatment?

I think its just cool we at least are getting people to support the game industry. Although it does annoy me when parents are too stupid to just not let their children get a hold of something they should not be playing at their age.

Y'know if you just used the age rating's that can be located conviniently on the bock's and the disc, it might tell you that CHILDREN SHOULD'NT PLAY THAT GAME!
heres a good story a parent come into my kmart with 10 year boy and buys GTA episodes from liberty city. 3 weeks later she comes back pissed, even after i asked for her id and told her what why it was rated M. apparently People are just _______(insert your own word) moronic.

Huh, in most games, things like shooting pedestrians are optional. Maybe it isn't the games that are bad, but the kids that go right to shooting them? I mean, I do it too, but if that's the first things your kid does, and it's one of their first games...

Also, there are fucking age ratings.

I don't see why this should go to the supreme court, it won't make a difference, most retailers where I live ask for ID when selling rated M games to those that look under 17, but if the parent buys that game for their kid, well theres nothing you can do about it. Even so, kids will always be able to get access to these games, until the internet is completely government controlled.

It's the vocal minority that always get heard. If you really want to get things done, voice your opinion, just like they do.

I don't know, the decapitation with a shovel and having the dog fetch the head sounds more like Postal 2 to me. And yes, my avatar is of Johan from Monster.

ATTN gamers: *Le sigh* At least we've got one politician with a brain on our side.

Ha. a politician with brains. great joke.

Just a thought on the Governator.

Didn't he just cameo in "The Expendables", but he's telling kids to stay away from violent games?

...does he even understand irony, or hypocrisy?

How about you take a poll of the parents of the children playing these games. Include in the poll reasons for buying that game for them.

Well, I believe he's made a distinction between movies and games claiming that games are differant and more intense dude to the interactive nature of the experience. You can't get on his case for "The Expendables" but you can criticize him after having doubtlessly taken cuts from numerous video games based on movies he starred in and using his likeness. "Predator", "Eraser", and others all had game tie ins.

He deserves criticism, just the right way.

Otherwise, this is a big issue so you have to expect people to go cross party for it.

As someone who works in games retail, allow me to say that kids don't have access to violent games unless a parent buys them for the kid(s).

So parents, if you want someone to blame for getting violent games to kids, blame the parents that buy the games.

No see, it's different because he didn't really do much other than appear in it. It's certainly not the same as Advocating that stuff, really!

More people trying to pass a law to deal with what can be solved with simple basic parenting.

I hate humans.
Agreed. What a ridiculous stance these people are taking. Why implement an entire fucking LAW because you can't be arsed to NOT buy your kids prostitute murder simulators?! What kind of lunatics are these people. Just tell them all to chill and to stop blowing things out of proportion, sorted.
