In my vision of a utopia people will be robbed of some freedoms but if it makes the quality of life better why should anyone care? People will still be entitled to their own personal beliefs and opinions as long as they don't drastically affect the living conditions or government. This is my opinion so please don't bash me.
If you don't want to be bashed, why post an opinion that you seem to view as possibly controversial?

once a utopia is created, people will stop striving for advancement. a utopian society can not exist as all people are differnt. some greenies in aus have an idea of a utopia where all humans are dead, or at least 99% of people are rendered sterile by something in the water.
the problem with humanity is that we are goal driven. we get anxious and depressed when we haven't got a thing to strive for. this is one of the reasons for why perfection isn't attainable: we would have reached the maximum and have nothing left to strive for. utopia isn't about halting progress because we live better, it's about promoting progress so that we may evolve.

then again, i'm just throwing pearls for swine here. as much as i hate to say it, few people would understand what i'm saying here or what is implied. this is why i've lost faith in humanity.

so you are saying that utopia would be a society in which advancement would be ecouraged? and that utopia is a dream that one can pursue, but never actually achive? i think i would agree with you.
utopia wouldn't just be a state of society, it would be a state of mind, of everyone in that society. this is actually implicit, since everyone in a society gets influenced by said society.

no, it's not just a dream. but the utopia would not be a constant. it would change; new rules would be established as old rules wane and become useless. creating a society is one thing, but managing the rules is something nobody has done before. just look at the US, you have laws against walking a moose over a street or similar laws which are outdated. the passing of laws should not be bureaucratic process, it should be encouraged. i.e., whatever government would have to say yes to a law (within limitations, of course) and put it on trial rather than just discussing it and doing one final vote for it.

but me talking about this is just one small bit. this is just a puzzle piece in the great jigsaw of an utopia. while each part has its significance, it is only when the puzzle comes together you can see the real beauty of it-- the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

post: i'm not talking about trolls, because trolls usually don't care. i'm talking about people who put other people down because of other beliefs or disregard of irrelevant rules. i have no patience to talk to people like that, since nothing good will ever come of it.. my time would be wasted. and i don't like to waste time. i realize the irony of this, but i am hoping there are at least some people sitting out there in silence and finding this somewhat interesting. and somehow, intuition has never failed me.

A true utopia could only exsist if everyone in the world were to suddenly snuff it. If everyone was dead then their would be no pain, no suffering, no unethical treatment of elephants. Nothing bad would happen to any human ever. Utopia.

Except we'd all be dead, and all our heavily domesticated animals would probably die, and all the nuclear reactors would eventually meltdown, and the buildings would collapse.

But yeah, your idea sounds perfect.

A smoking radioactive crater where all of human life used to exist.

A perfect utopia can never exist, we have too much free will.
