So it's official... Unfortunately my only intel mac doesn't have a legitimate GPU so I can't play, but this is still awesome because I might upgrade eventually.

Okay valve this PS3 boycott is taking the piss now, am I the only one on this site still wanting to slit gabe newell's throat?.

Anyway I hate steam and its forced digital distribution so the mac port won't help me.
I own a good pc but im with ya!
So do I but i don't have a 2 million MB connection so I can't play new PC games.

Meh, I'm a "PC Elitist" and I don't have a problem with this. All I care about is that it doesn't affect the development time of Portal 2 and Episode 3 (STILL in limbo, I may add).

Even though I'm for extending availability of games and this is a step in the right direction, I have one question: why didn't you add Linux compatibility, Valve? The main issue I have with Ubuntu right now is that Steam doesn't seem to work even with Wine, and as an open source fanboy in training I'm sorely disappointed.

They said they'll probably look into developing for it soon.

OT: "third-party titles will undoubtedly follow suit."

Why?

I wouldn't hold your breath.

More people = more sales.

More coding = longer development time.

And now, add three months onto the already notoriously long Valve Time, and we now have Double Valve Time. (That's double as in mathematics, not music...)

I love that this is finally official. I can get around to deleting my boot camp partition now.

Good thing for Valve. Don't see a problem with Macs getting any games especially if it is Valve leading the movement. I am a long time PC user but I remember fondly of oldschool Mac games on the old school mac. Glad to see this happen. Thank you Valve for being "teh awwzzumm."

I am a wee tad concerned. As a Windows gamer, if a game runs sluggish for me, I just give my PC a new part, but what about if the game runs a bit naf on Mac?

I think gaming on a Mac would work if you could actually get the individual upgrades*, not an entire new unit.

*Yes, I am aware there are upgrades, but those are straight from Apple. They are not as cheap as they are for the PC.

One could argue that since Macs have a much smaller array of potential hardware configurations it shouldn't be a problem to make sure it works on all of them.

What is wrong with that? MACs are Personal Computers as well. Maybe this will take some money from Microsoft.

Ahh, brutal violence.

Is there a problem it can't be applied to as a solution?
