"Screw making something new, lets make a Half-Life zombie mod."

is what I am taking from this, but I hate Valve and how they forced Steam down my throat because I bought Empire Total War (the on-disc version).

Going from girly fairies to a Zombie Apocalypse.

Looks to me like Valve was taking some seriousness pills, okay, maybe alot.

Still, sounds like a step at the right direction, I might get the game later myself.

I find this story very strange. L4D was developed by Turtle Rock Software. Valve bought Turtle Rock about 7 months before L4D was released. So Valve (proper) was working on a fairy game then decided to buy Turtle Rock so they could continue to make L4D? Or was the fairy game started at Turtle Rock and then canceled for development of L4D, at which point Valve decided to buy them.

A lot of clarification is needed in this article.

"'How could we make a game that was this bad? And how should we make a game ... Why are we doing this game which was kind of a'... it wasn't really an RPG... it was this action fantasy sort of role playing game that had no story."
So they instead opted for an action "infected" game with no story? What a huge difference.

At least they can laugh about it. Now if only more developers would actually look at what they're making.

They made the right decision, but I can't help think of what an RPG made by Valve might turn out to be like.

And that, children, is why dropping acid is a crime.

I'm taking this with a pinch of salt, though; I strongly dobt this 'fairy RPG' was an actual thing at any point other than today.

Doug Lombardi: Hey Gabe? I'm getting kind of bored with this fairy thing. It seems kind of...bad.
Gabe Newall: No sweat; I'll just use my mountain of money to buy a completely different company and work on whatever crap they're making.
DL: Right on! ...Hey, can it be about zombies?

They should have made it. It could have been the 2nd game I like from Valve.

Lord knows what would happen to the time space continuim if Valve made a game that wasn't a shooter of some kind.

If Valve gifts this to the masses on Steam like they did with Alien Swarm I'll buy Left 4 Dead 2. What do you say, Gabe, we have a deal?

Wow Valve! You made the right decision.

*imagines a Valve game where you play as Navi*

I wonder if Valve hid any remnants of this game in Left 4 Dead just for giggles...
They probably do, they are probably so obvious that we haven't noticed them.

OT: I...uh...what? What is this? I have no actual thoughts on this.

Remove the Fairy Part...and try and roll with that...

a Valve RPG?

"action fantasy sort of role playing game" This could be useful potential...
or how about a valve sports game of some kind that compiles all of valves best charachters, something like a mario golf only like a valve softball game

The Hairminator

How about no?

Seriously, where did that come from?
Also,
To quote its protagonist, "I'm a fairy? how... dull..."
Yeah, this game is like having fairies in a Vampire novel. Except it prolly would've been terrible.
That's the exact point when I turned it off, and decided to watch something not as shit. Seriously, I had followed it to that point. Unfortunately, she was spot on. Fucking fairies.
