Their games are made with PC gamers in mind first and console gamers second. I see no issue with this. Don't buy VALVe games for the console if you do not believe the quality is up to par.

It boggles my mind that you feel cheated when you got TF2 for $20 ($2.50 if you bought on Halloween) because you didn't get free upgrades. Most companies would charge $60 for a game like TF2.

Ya, but Valve/Steam doesn't. They charge a set price. $20. And that comes with all the glamour of TF2, custom maps and such. The XBox version does not. You get a VERY glitchy game with many things wrong with it that people can exploit to be uber cheap. For the same price as the epic TF2 game, you get a buggy mess, because Microsoft is just all sorts of douche.

anyway theres this breif case in the film and a very popular fan theory that the balck gangsta's (Wallace marcellus) soul is in there, in the shots from the back you see he has a band aid on the back of his head, as in where they took his soul from (its just a popular theory, not actually confirmed by the film makers)

anyway...the black guy in the logo looks alot like the guy from pulp fiction and where the valve is makes me think its a reference to pulp fiction

What he said. In order to release the updates, Valve will have to charge for them, which would split the playerbase and cause all sorts of issues. They don't want to screw you over, but MS doesn't let them do much.

Well, to be completely honest, Valve also has awful console ports. I don't even do PC gaming, but Portal on the 360 was just a damn shame.

Bottom line, we're kinda supposed to imagine it for ourselves. No prop master can beat the human imagination.

I kid, but seriously, the console ports are fine (I'm in Australia, L4D2, you could be worse off). The PC guys will get the extra features that just can't be done on consoles, due to policies or restrictions.

This may, very possibly be the only post I ever, ever make here... And yes I've just linked up with my FB account. However, I feel the need to voice my opinion.


Think for a moment about all the PC players who get lumbered with *chooses words carefully* bad... no, crappy PC ports of games. Valve seem to be one of the only developers really pioneering it for the PC crowd out there and for that I salute them.

don't short change us if you know for a fact that you cannot provide the same level of quality for us as you could a PC gamer.

This is how PC gamers feel about console ports. Every day, even with AAA releases. Hell, we're probably going to feel it with Crysis 2, which was ours in the first place. If we can deal with EA, Activision, Bioware, Rockstar, Ubisoft, Codemasters and alot of the other developers delivering us substandard ports and support, maybe the guys at Valve can be forgiven.

My point wasnt about the film or the theory itself but weather or not the logo is a reference to pulp fiction, soul theory or not

Aren't they releasing the official DLC to the console also(even if you have to pay for it)? So what if you can't download custom maps, they are made by users not Valve...

I am a 360 player and not a PC player, I deserve no less quality for my money.

And before you begin, I hold no ire towards Valve, simply the way their games get treated with consoles in mind.

They're the only company that treats pc gamers properly, have you seen the shitty console ports pc gamers have gotten lately? Consoles get many things first and foremost, and you're complaining about Valve not giving you what you already get from everyone else?

You know Dead Space 2? PC gamers were denied all of the announced DLC, why, no reason was given, none.

Played Bulletstorm on PC? All of the settings files were encrypted, you needed to download special software just to change things like mouse smoothing and max frame rates.

Even Crytek, the development company behind one of the best looking games for pc, seem to be going the "Console first, fuck pc" route if what I experienced in the Crysis 2 demo really carries over to the main release.

The lack of updates is mostly the console companies fault, I remember an article a while back where Valve mentioned the reason TF2 wasn't updated on the Xbox was because of Microsoft restrictions. Don't blame Valve, blame Microsoft.

You know a lot of it stems from the fact that Microsofts rules for Xbox live are shit right?

Also, they got there start on the pc. Its their lead platform and there one of the last few developers who have it as the focus instead of the consoles, where most companies consider the money to be. I for one, (and this is coming from a console player), think its fine that they treat the PC better. Why? Because no one else does >.> (Blizzard also.)

Honestly, you're not missing much with L4D custom maps.

Still, I don't see why the fact that PC games are better should mean the devs shouldn't release console ports. Call of Duty doesn't seem hampered by the fact that there are no custom maps (people dislike it for other reasons, but I don't really hear this as one). Oblivion did fine on consoles without mods. TF2's best maps are Valve-made. The best L4D campaigns are still Valve's.

My friends and I never cared about the lack of content released for the 360. We just kept on playing and Left 4 Dead never got old. I don't get why everyone thinks that because of mods and content that PC is better either... I love my 360

I think the fact that the community they trusted pirated there game to oblivion, gives them the right to do such. I see no problem with it. This accusation is pretty false anyway but I thought I'd point it out nonetheless.

I think valve should continue to make games, ( im a late bloomer like yourself) But its MS crappy rules for live that we can download maps. I mean its great xboxlive, good content and great service, downloads happen really fast. But valve isnt a allowed to connect steam to live. Like I wish, but there are rumors that we will be able to download maps on portal 2, just not make any.
