Should keep Valve fans happy.

Never really liked Left 4 Dead myself. It's just killing zombies while running from A to B...With no effort at a story. I'll take a REALLY BAD story over no story, anyday.

That, and zombies bore me to death.
L4D does indeed have a backstory you just need to look further than dialogue. The writing on the saferoom walls, subtle hints from houses, even the locations you're in provide enough for you to figure out the story. YOU are the survivor, you aren't meant to know more than anyone else, but you can figure things out from otherwise missable clues.
Or you know, they could have a STORY. They have backstory.
Originally, there was supposed to be a story, and all the campaigns were supposed to be connected. Playtesters felt defeated when the rescues failed, and just wanted to hack their way through zombies, so most of the story was scrapped and the campaigns were broken up. Blame the public for this one.

It says a "Wicked Witch Bride"
Zoey is a girl, she could be a witch... Who's marrying her?

It's just a new skin for the Witch, and common infected will now include wedding wear- apparently, there's a point during The Passing where you go through a wedding that was interrupted by the Infection.

I'm not liking this whole "One original survivor will die" business, I like all the original survivors. The only survivor I don't like is Rochelle, all of the others have an endearing quality to them that appeals to me except for her, shame it has to be one of the original ones.

Opinion seems to be that Valve's difficulty at contacting Bill's voice actor, Jim French, triggered this decision. Rather than have Bill simply remain silent during the entire scenario, maybe they'll just kill him off?

That'd be a shame. I like Bill.

And yet, despite liking him as well (ok hell I like all the survivors of both games because they all fit archetypes in zombie films...though admittedly Rochelle is the weakest character by far), him dying would be the most fitting. Preferably in a blaze of glory riding a tank like a bronco and repeatedly shotgunning it in the head.

On another note I sometimes feel like I'm the only one who doesn't have a problem with Louis. An office worker who spent his lunch breaks at the rifle range? He was either one step away from snapping from work stress or becoming an unlikely hero in a zombie apocalypse, obviously the latter happened.

My brother is a huge Louis fan xD (He's also 8.) He even named a toy penguin he got a few weeks ago after Louis, and has made it very clear that no one else plays him during co-op.

I hope Louis is the fallen survivor........what? I know were all thinking it.
That he was the least interesting character out of the team? Seriously, he was less fun that extreme paint drying (which isn't all that extreme)

If this is free (like all Valve DLC has been so far), excellent.
If not, I'll be "passing".

Well actually, the story is there. It's tacit. (Which I prefer in an fps).

The whole point of the method is that the story exists however relies on clues to be found by the player, the player can choose to find the story themselves, or simply ignore the fragments of information and play the game as if it doesn't have one.

Left 4 dead the original had a very weak tacit storyline, the second however, that had a very definite storyline. The piles of bodies, the remarks the survivors made, the clues people have left scrawled on the wall, the radio broadcasts and warnings CEDA distributed, etc. can all be put together to give a complete story as to what exactly happened, and is happening.

one game mode i can think of is the traditional zombie game mode, kill a survivor and turn it into an infected. now they have 7 survivors and 1 special infected, in versus. where u give the infected player the directors job also. Of course this would be more on the lines of last stand rather than get from point A to B. :D

Why couldn't they kill Rochelle off rather than a L4D1 character? Everyone loves the original cast and Rochelle is just annoying.

my money's still on Bill though, just seems so fitting for him to die in some epicly heroic way

I don't mean to be a "hey wouldn't this be awesome, they should add this" Larry (longest Larry yet), but M60 mg isn't exactly "Gargantuan", now, again, I don't want to be a "hey wouldn't this be awesome, they should add this" Larry, but there is another system with the designation M60 that fills that "Gargantuan" descriptor... jus' saying...

One thing i hope valve never do is have a senario where we meet a "Keith" uncommon infected, that dude sounds like a legend from all of the storys and would acctually be kinda sad to acctually know hes dead, also ellis's needed diolougue around there would be sad,and l4d isnt sad :'(

Bring on the 5th survivor: Keith!
