Machine gun. Better to handle infantry swarms. Tanks can be avoided or lured into IEDS (or attacked by exploding dogs, if the situations desperate)

One solid wall versus a network of smaller redoubts?

Redoubts, as they would take more time to navigate and overcome, thus tying the enemy up for longer.

The ability to turn anything you touch to gold, or the ability to set anything you look at on fire?

Fire look. Gold would get devalued, but the ability to set fire to anything that I want without being detected could be very profitable. Plus, better for self-defense.

The ability to influence random outcomes versus the ability to know anyone's motives?
