That. That goddamed tin fish thing has caused me to have a fear of water that lives on to this day.
I always thought of Clanker as cute, for some reason...
I probably would have nowadays, but when you're about 4 years old, don't notice it, and fall right in front of it...
That does not leave a good effect.

When I was like 7 I rented Echo the Dolphin. When you jump out of the water and the crazy storm steals your family, it literally scared the shit out of me. I turned off my TV and ran screaming into the living room. Haven't played it since.

I was four years old when I first played that game. He's been my favorite feared/respected VG villain ever since.
What game would that be unknown pal?

I have only finished 1 Resident Evil game. And i was so scared through most of that game that i vowed to never ever ever play another RE game.

Black Hawk Down, Joint Ops, Oblivion - Going underwater. Maybe any FPS and underwater I don't like, but those are the worst I have found.

I just really don't like it =/

Every time I hear "Hey, Listen" I go into a fugue state.

Fugue State: Dissociative fugue usually involves unplanned travel or wandering, and is sometimes accompanied by the establishment of a new identity. After recovery from fugue, previous memories usually return intact, however there is complete amnesia for the fugue episode.

My sister used to hide behind the couch when the Aliens lunged at the screen when I played the game Aliens for the Amstrad CPC. :)

I love that guy!

When I was six I kicked the tower of our Windows 98 (I can't remember what kind of computer it was, only that it "ran" 98) so hard it crashed when I died for the eleventy billionth time on some edutainment game on the pinball level.

It took two weeks to convince the computer to work again and my mom confiscated the game forever. That Christmas I discovered Nintendo 64 and never touched that bloody computer again.

I still can't remember what was called. Mental block or something.

Silent Hill 2, Pyramid Head's first appearance and later fight. Played it when I was too young to understand fear. I love the game but I always shut it off whenever I near that fight. Don't know why but I just do. Also the zombies from Resident Evil 2 freak me the hell out. In fact I can't play anything with pixelated horror. I guess it is because the pixels allow for me to imagine the monsters as something much worse than they are. Also the scene (and soundtrack) of FFVII where you wake up in te Shinra building and there is blood everywhere and the music doesn't change when you enter a battle.

Any water level. I'm not sure if this was born of the ingrained video game logic that water = death, or from watching Jaw's as a kid.

100% serious, I couldn't play Eco the Dolphin. I was nervous constantly. OH GOD WHAT IF I DROWN!? WHERE'S THE SHARKS, SHARKS MUST BE COMING! I CAN'T GO DOWN THERE IT'S DARK!

Probably the barnacles from Half Life. I found them pretty disturbing when I was playing the originals through as a young(ish) child, but even in the current Half Life games, I tend to panic a bit when I get caught in one.

Sinistar. It's one of those Williams arcade games.

Ever since I first picked up the original Need For Speed and sent my corvette spinning off the road into the poorly drawn city environment, I realised....maybe it's not such a good idea for me to get behind the wheel of a car. oO

Seriously, I'm never learning to drive. The first time I sat behind the wheel of a car I had a bit of a panic attack. I think it took me back to those racing simulators in the arcades where I'd always go flying off a cliff at some point.

Ah, I see now... I played this game when I was around, let's see, 12? I was a little bit better with things by that age. But, at four, well, I share the pain.
