You definitely botched that whole desensitization part akin to religious pawns claiming masturbation is as hell-worthy as killing your wife.

Case in point, when playing games, I love, love love, smashing peoples heads in, and I've not seen one child picking up a golf club and bashing in his grandmothers head IRL because it was *That* much fun in GTA.

Stupid people do stupid things.
Crazy people do crazy things.
Smart people see the stupid and or crazy people, facepalm, and go about their lives.

But next time they saw someone bashing a virtual person's head in with a golf club, it wouldn't trouble them as much. Prototype was ridiculously gory, but after the first few dismemberments (read: seconds) it had no impact whatsoever. By the end of my first hour of that game, I was smashing faces in, ripping off limbs and using people as health packs and projectiles without a second thought.

That doesn't mean I'd do it IRL though. It just doesn't disturb me when it's simulated like that.

Here's a particularly gruesome scene from 28 Weeks Later [SPOILERS].

Watch that whole thing. Now tell me if you were disturbed. If so, great! The movie has successfully shocked you.

Now this is a consume kill montage from Prototype.

Watch it all. Are you as disturbed as you were from the first one? If so/not, why?
