I am playing Metal Gear Solid 4, and at the moment I can't think of anything that they did wrong...

But things will probably crop up in hindsight. I will pick KotOR or Psychonauts. The first is in my opinions the best videogame to be based off of the star wars series (not saying there isn't some stiff competition though) and Psychonauts, well I can't think of anything that is a legitimate complaint. They never had a sequel, when they kind of built up to one. But they didn't give it a cliffhanger. The Meat Circus made me discover swearing when I was a kid (right along with Metroid Fusion's Spider boss thing) but still it only took me about 50 tries...

Actually, I am going to add Metroid Fusion, and it's grand daddy Super Metroid. I love them both so much. Metroid Prime too.

Portal, World of Goo, and Pikmin.

Not so much Pikmin 2, since the story had less charm then the first one did. Though the added time for exploration was nice.
The story wasn't as good, but otherwise Pikmin 2 is everything the first game had and then some. Heck, after playing Pikmin 2 for a while, I went back to play the original and it kept making me wish I was playing the second game due to some features that weren't in the first.

You are right, there is no perfect game. And criticism is the best way to better games. If there was something wrong with the first game in a series, people should criticize it so the developers can fix that issue, or balance it out with something else.

Tetris. There are no flaws.
It gets boring after 5 minutes.
Suffering from ADD isn't a flaw with the game, it's a flaw with the gamer.

Though I will say that Tetris should have an asterisk attached to it because most official versions of Tetris are very very lacking thanks to the laughable "Tetris Guideline" that's required to license a Tetris game. Meanwhile there are a number of un-official versions of Tetris that are far superior and fall under the "no flaws" category.

I hate to agree with everyone else, but Portal. It really is beyond criticism, as far as I'm concerned. It had great writing, some fun and innovative gameplay, great acting, great design, and was polished to a mirror shine.

Because Portal is praised so often and people won't shut the fuck up about cake, it's easy to lose sight of how great the game actually was. I guess it's a testament to the game's quality that it's been three years and the never-ending memes and cake jokes haven't negatively influenced my feelings about it at all.

God Hand.

If there is a problem, it's on YOUR end. YOU aren't doing enough to own butt, and that is entirely YOUR problem. God Hand has no flaws at all-the only time "flaws" are visible is when YOU are sucking bad.

Portal

I believe this game is perfect because I cannot criticize anything about it! However, it depends on what you're looking for in a game. If you're looking for game with shooting, then you'll be very disappointed. If you're looking for a lengthy adventure, you will also be disappointed. However, it's a perfect game at what it does and it never gets overly frustrating play.

Probably my favorite snes game; earthbound. It's such a fun game with great music, and gameplay, always cheering me up whenever I play it during bad days. Anyone who played earthbound might know why. I wish we had more games that are set during modern times where kids go around the world, town to town to save the world... but that's just me.

Starcraft: Unbalanced.
Starcraft? Unbalanced? The only problem I have with Starcraft is that it's too difficult to master and I'm not a micromanager. So I guess that would be my game of choice for "no flaws".

Portal.
It's true! God damn it!
The game is too short. :p (haha I know, that's a pretty weak complaint). btw That Hank Hill avatar is hilarious.

Every game has something to criticize, at least for me.

Halo 3 because I can't think of any part of that game that I didn't love. I used to be crazy addicted to multiplayer and making forge maps, and I like the campaign misssions so much that I go back to play they occasionally. I also love Bungie for maintaining an overall great community and commitment to their games. I know I'm probably in the slim minority on this site so please have mercy on my post.
I wish I could agree with you, TurtleMan. I really wanted Halo 3 to be an epic successor, but Bungie did so little to really flush out the story, and the campaign was way too damn short. It just didn't live up to my expectations as a sequel; Halo 3 had wasted potential. That is my critique of an otherwise great game.

... Goldeneye...
Even as I was going into this thread Goldeneye was coming to mind. Truth be told I got so frustrated with it that I gave up on the game at one point- on Bunker 2 where you have to break out and escape on 00 Agent. However I later heard that there were silenced pistols hidden in a safe and I had to check it out. That spurred me on to finish the level and the rest of the game.

It was around then that I realised that the game was always fair, despite appearances. If the explored, experimented, you could always prevail. Yes, even on Aztec.

As for your train problem, once Ouromov is out of the picture, try getting a shot off at Xenia before the roller door fully closes ;)

Phantom Crash.

It is a VERY rare game that I rented for the Xbox 5 years ago, It is a cross between MechWarrior and Grand Turismo. It is Beautiful.
