Those are really great! Strange, but great! Except for the Luke Skywalker one... Was he going for Lucas's original idea of having him be a 35-year-old man in a helmet?

I'm guessing the lack of Vader is due to it melting the scanner due to its high levels of awesome.

han solo+ muttonstache= greatest character design ever.

im liking all of them, boba looks rightfully creepy, but luke...id imagine thats really a work in progress; he looks like his uncle more than luke.

overall, would love to see these as a spin off comic or something.

Yes because in a time where you can move between star systems within days/weeks instead of centuries everything is powered by steam and coal and looks suspiciously something you would see from a 18th century hobby shop.

Edit: I take it back. I thought I read it as something else.

If you go to his site you'll see the Chewy he has and it's pretty good as well as the rest of the stuff he has up. I too would like to see his take on Vader, although I never pictured Yoda as one to smoke opium (I'm just guessing that's what he's smoking) but it would explain alot!

Well, there it goes, that guy just blew my mind......
Kudos to him for making these, and I REALLY need to get my steam-punk fix done with.

It's interesting how easily the Star Wars aesthetic slides into Steampunk. I mean, they could drop that Steam Stormtrooper into the original and no one would have blinked.

Those look absolutely AWESOME!

Though... is Luke missing his arm, or is that... glove thing a glove?
probably already said, but he lost his arm in one of the movies, I want to say Empire Strikes Back, but it has been about a decade since I saw the original trilogy.

so............canon?
Its on the wrong hand though. Luke lost his right arm, the picture shows the glove... thing on his left arm. I'm wondering if its an artist mistake, or if its just a glove...like... thing...

What the heck is it supposed to be anyway?

These drawings exemplify everything that bores me about the "steampunk" style, genre, or whatever it is. Star Wars is so unique in its asthetic, but these these designs have been reduced to cliches I've seen a thousand times before. Goggles, belts, buckles, and gears.

They're very nice drawings, technically, great line quality. But I feel that all the personality comes from their poses and their faces.

I liked the concepts, although I'm not much of a fan of Luke's new look, I loved Han's mustache. C3PO (oddly named 3CPO) looks like he would me more charming than obnoxious. I liked Bobba's suit, although I'm a bit worried it gets leaky. Leia looked a bit meh imo, and both Jabba and Yoda looked much more darker than their former selves.

And please, for the love of God, get me a steampukified Storm Trooper armor, I love that thing =D

Am I the only one who's tired of seeing steampunk everywhere?
No, you're not.

I don't have a problem with steampunk per se, but it just seems to be all style and no substance; merely re-imaginings of pre-existing properties.

Those stormtroopers look like a real threat and who knows they might have good aim.

I find that the ones I don't care for also happen to be the ones that stray too far from the original concept of the character.

Examples: Han Solo is a charismatic rogue who's fine with getting dirty. So this concept works with the original spirit of the character.

On the other hand ,Luke looks like a grizzled-veteran, which doesn't fit his character. In Star Wars, Luke is supposed to be a baby-faced youth, a "pure" character. Almost like Oliver Twist, someone who doesn't belong in the underworld, someone who was born of a higher-class/destiny. Luke is not a "dirty" character, he's royalty.

The problem with Boba Fett is similar. He's a clone of a genetically-perfect super-soldier. Does that look like the like build of a soldier? No, it's a good character, but it's not Boba.

The Stormtrooper looks better than the Star Wars version, but he doesn't look incompetent. A Stormtrooper has to be incompetent.
