The one and only Club 64 from Paper Mario. They may not serve alcohol, but the music sure is groovy.

I got the completely wrong idea from the title, an actual video game bar opened near me recently.

Pretty much any of the bars in the Monkey Island series (although I haven't played tales yet), even the dreary hotel bar on Blood Island was pretty charming.

If we can include clubs as well as bars, I'm gonna have to put in a secondary vote to the Disco from Timesplitters 3. So much fun, it's got everything! And that music...

..that music...

Always liked The Trip Trap from The Wolf Among us. The atmosphere is great, and it's interesting to see Bigby interact with the lowlife fables that completely despise him. You also return to it quite a few times and get to see the consequences of your actions.

The music is pretty damn chill too.

Duke Nukem 3d - strip bars were to my liking
Dragon's Crown bar mmmmm
Moxi's bar in Borderlands was fun as well due to perverted dialogue
Scum bar/Stray Sheep are awesome also

The Prancing Pony holds quite the reputation I hear.

Back in ye olden days of LotRO, there was almost always something going on there, even on the non-RP servers.

Maybe the Goldshire Tavern in WoW too.
Just stay the hell away from that place on RP servers.

There's...things happening there man, things no man should witness.

The Last Gasp Saloon in Redding of Fallout 2. Not enough people to keep you in business as only a bar, not enough deaths (at least those requiring a funeral) to keep you in business as only a funeral parlour, so why not combine the two and have a real stiff in a casket as a decoration? Great illustration of what kind of place the wasteland of the Fallout universe is.

Also I have many fond memories of The Copper Coronet of Baldur's Gate 2.

Any of Moxxi's locales in Borderlands 2 / Pre-Sequel. Come for the buffs and over-priced weaponry, stay for the slots ...all day. Just one more spin, I swear.

It's times like these that I am disappointed that I am one of five people who actually played CATHERINE. That is the only explanation for why "The Stray Sheep" has not arrived here yet.

Sure, the bartender has an awful secret and the the patrons all seem to have nightmares that kill them but you meet all kinds of fun people there! So the death nightmares kind of suck but the waitress is super cute; you should totally hook up with her!!!
I came to here post that.

I love the Stray Sheep. You get to chat to all kinds of people, there's a crazy arcade game that's possibly driving people crazy, a jukebox that includes tracks from other Atlus games, the news channel, a very interesting waitress and the world's most awesome "bartender".

Who you can technically inadvertently hook up with in one ending...

That inn from Final Fantasy 4 with the dancing girl was pretty fun. I wasn't expecting that when I first played.

Annnd the inns from Oblivion and Skyrim in particularly although I wish you could see out of the windows by default. My faovurites are the one the ones you can just stumble upon in the middle of nowhere like the Imperial Bridge Inn or the Drunken Dragon Inn.

Yeahhhh I was gonna put the Stray Sheep, too xD Especially when I can change the music to something from Persona 3 and get really drunk off of sake while finding out little tidbits. And then subsequently dying in that stupid Rapunzel game and looking at my demons in the bathroom mirror wondering what I'm doing with my life as Troy Baker as a 32-year-old manchild with no ambition.

-sigh-

I love the music from the Caustic Caverns that reminds you what USED to be there xD I rather like her Tavern from the Dragon's Keep DLC

Eternity from Mass Effect 2. Maybe is because you can hit or shoot Conrad Verner. Maybe is because the Assari bartender's father was a Krogan (and rejoices when you hit/shoot Conrad). Maybe is because you can eavesdrop how a Quarian wants to make love with a Turian. I just know that, while my favorite shop in the Citadel is all of them, this is definitely my favorite bar.

I have several bars that I like to frequent in games, I just wish they were better implemented. It's good to be able to buy drinks and pick up on gossip but you should be able to do what people go into bars to do - socialise. It'd be cool if you cold gain points with people if you buy them drinks and make merry as well as losing them for being a cock. Also, you might be able to get that buxom serving wench drunk and then...

Ahem, sorry...

So yeah, my favourite bars in games!

1) Chora's Den (Mass Effect) - Music, drinks and saucy Asari dancers. What's not to like? Also if I criticise it, Fist might get one of his Krogan bouncers to kick my head in!

2) Afterlife (Mass Effect 2) - Music, drinks and saucy Asari dancers. What's not to like? Also if I criticise it, Aria might kick my head in!

3) Purgatory (Mass Effect 3) - Music, drinks and...yeah, you get the picture!

4) Moriarty's Saloon (Fallout 3) - Owned by a complete knobend but it does have a friendly, if slightly rotting bartender. And then there's Nova...Jesus, I really have to get laid...

5) Any of the Skyrim taverns - I love the aesthetic of the buildings in Skyrim and the taverns are great examples of it and the whole Norse mythos. Wood. Stone. Fire-Pits. Entire cows on spits. Booze. I love it!

The only one I can think of is the Naughty Ottsel from Jak 2&3. Any others I either don't remember or don't particularly care about. Although I did always like the name of the Broken Shillelagh from Saints Row the Third.

Vesuvius from Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines. I like the atmosphere and the music, and Velvet. Asylum came pretty close though.
