The missus has asked my to compile a list of songs from videogames for our wedding next year.

She has had one request so far and that's that i ensure that this song is played.

My personal choices are thusly;

and

and never forgetting;

So help me out! Any recommendations of timeless videogame themes? Post them here!

This is about the only thing I can think of at this moment that might have a chance of sounding appropriate at a wedding.

Is this a serious thread? The answer is non-debatable. Guile's theme goes with EVERYTHING!

Yes?

...Okay, okay. A bit more seriously... this is a gorgeous song. Not sure how well it'd go over in a wedding, but still.

Don't forget to play this immediately after the kiss!

There's also a lot of music from Clannad that is absolutely beautiful and fitting for any wedding. The game is super-long and hard to get outside of Japan, but I recommend you watch the anime based on it and check out the music (it uses the same soundtrack). Though be warned: this anime will make both you and your fiance cry like babies, and any music played from it at your wedding may bring tears back.

That Chocobo theme sure is... special.

Play this:

And watch everyone to see who recognises the song and gets creeped out the most!
I guarantee anyone who's played Halo will end up reacting like a PTSD victim. Sweating and shaking in their seats, as they look like fools trying to explain to everyone "It reminds me of a scary videogame I played over a decade ago."

To answer the question a few posts above, yes, this is a serious thread. My fiancee actually HAS asked me to compile a list of videogame music for our wedding!

*Cue maniacal laughter.*

Mind telling me the theme for your wedding(ie there are many great game music, but not all of them are suitable for a wedding/particular theme)

In the meantime, I guess cant go wrong with these for now(must-haves):

Final Fantasy main theme *btw, how do i embed?*

or ffiV theme of love

Uhh, what are you a fan of? I could suggest these but I have no idea if you like the games:

Plus I think they're fairly romantic. :3

Just click "quote" on any posts and, even if you don't post, the text in the reply box will show all their code.

You just need to do this: {youtube=}, (but normal brackets [] or these things ) then the numbers at the end of the youtube URL after the = sign.

The theme is actually pretty loose, we're poor so we're just doing generally "alternative"

as for embedding type [ youtube=FQwAxMiKHPo ] (without the spaces and the code after the = being the same as after the = on the standard share code

Well, to be cheeky and hilarious, yet oddly appropriate-sounding, I'd play this:

But for serious, this:

EDIT: And then play this on your wedding night:
