As of late, the rumors of its' conception have been varried. A URL entitled viewtifuljoe3.com was created, but it has closed. So here comes the big question: Should there be a third game in the well recepted GameCube series (yes, I know it later came out for the ps2, DS, and psp, but it started on the GC, and that's what matters)

Yes there should be a VJ 3. I haven't played the second one but I loved the first one.

The first one was fantastic, and while the second one had a decent amount of added stuff, I think there's only so much you can do with the style and, barring a complete remake, I fear it would end in disappointment. So I say no.

Mona Lisa 2. Should it happen?

Another ridiculous question spawned from not thinking it through.

Honestly i'm all for a 3rd one. I thought the first two were really well done and offered a different take on time control - not the same old "matrix" slomo junk.

Honestly I would argue that just because the makers of V.J. may not be able to re-invent the whole franchise that more of the same can be a good thing. Personally i have no prob. with games that give me the same stuff as other games do but manage to make them fun. If another V.J. game came out and had pretty much the same powers but had a new story and updated graphics, i would head out and buy it right a-way. But hey this is coming from a Final Fantasy fan and well...they dont exactly innovate with every game they make.

Edit: Sorry for double post.

They probably should, but I think Platinum (formerly Clover) are still working on MadWorld right now. After that, hopefully they can make a multi-platform sequel, I'd love to see that.

No it shouldn't - I think Viewtiful Joe was one of those original IP's that shouldn't have had a sequal.

Viewtiful Joe was an absolutely fantastic game. I would love to see a third installment made, especially if it's multi-platform.

this.

I tried playing through 2 the other day after owning it for a year, i still haven't finished it. Having way more fun unlocking new characters on the 1st one replaying the same stuff.

I understand your impression, I have felt the same in the past, but I think there's a huge amount of energy being spent on remaking the older games again, and especially with a studio that did something as unique and fun as Viewtiful Joe, I'd rather see them tackle a whole new problem in a fun and engaging way than grow stagnant in something that, while well done, has already been done.

Of course, if they DID make it I almost certainly would get it, but I'd still rather see them make something else.

This is what disappointed me so much with the Metroid Prime sequels. That and the map of all items in the third one just made me sad.

The whole point that made VJ amazing was the fact that it felt fresh, and unique.
If anything, I'd want the developers to go for something like that again, something fresh and unique... something new.
