The other day, whilst playing the frankly brilliant Mafia II, I stopped to fill up my car, as the game needs you to at some point, to hear the single greatest line in any game I've ever played.
I, personally, would love to have lent my voice to something, whether a brief animation on the web or TV, a game, a radio play or even a song. I just think it'd be pretty cool to say "Oh yea, that was me". One of my friends, I've just remembered as I type, was a child voice actor and made quite a bit from it so I'd also be enticed by the pay as well as my initial interests above.
So, my question for you Escapists is:
Would you be a voice actor and why? And is there any voice you wish you'd provided or thought you could do better?
[small]Please no "I'd love to have X's voice" because we all know that Jeremy Irons and Morgan Freeman win that competition.[/small]
I honestly couldn't stop laughing for a good few minutes and neither could my Dad sat behind me (He wanted to see what happens as he loved the first game, which pretty much introduced me to gaming). But it got me thinking: Who wouldn't want to be a voice actor?Gas Station Worker said:-Whilst filling up my car-
This isn't what I want to do. I really want to be an actor, like on the radio. I mean who wouldn't want to be a voice actor?
