Realy? You thought potter had a bad ending? Sure, the epilogue wasn't neccessary (although, being a sentimental fool I loved the one line about 'the bravest man...'), but I felt the enitr last book was just one big massively satisfying denouement. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying my opinion is any more valid than yours, I'm just surprised. I'm sure there a plenty of people who disagree with me (and they have every right to, but I've read more than my fair share of excellent writing and for me potter was one of the only children's (well, teen essentially) series' that transcended its audience and was a great read for adults too. The Deptford Mice and Deptford histories by Robin Jarvis are the others (seriously, if you haven't read them, give them a go. The Histories are particularly good, I read them before the Mice, but they're kinda prequels so it may well be best to read the Mice first).

Anyway, I digress.
eh i thought the win by defult was sort of lame and she should have left him in the station (not saying since i dont want to ruin it) also there was one person that was killed that pissed me aoff a bit

Halo 3: ODST. I just don't get it, what was the campaign even about? I played through the whole thing, and I honestly don't know what they accomplished in the end, I mean we a cool squid-thing...that has nothing to do with the game that's chronillogically after it. That's...helpfull?
I was rather miffed by it myself. I get that the Engineer has all this info on the Covenant, but surely that means the UNSC would know what the hell the Covenant were digging for instead of being all "ZOMG portal lol" in Halo 3.
Exactley, I mean it makes sense on it's own....mostly. But the fact that you never see the Engineer again(I prefer to call it a squid) is a little confusing.

I'd recommend you put that in a spoiler. Preferably now.

OT: I usually understand most endings. And I've never seen The Sopranos, but cutting off mid-sentence doesn't seem like a good idea.

My pick would have to be the movie version of The Mist.
what pissed me off about it was that they never revealed anything regarding the creatures. Maybe the book didn't leave that out.
The book didn't explain where the creatures. Never seen the movie but the guy and son and girlfriend don't die in book.

Fair enough, but I would've found that to be too abrupt. I mean, sure down endings are all well and good, but the series just wasn't set up for that and there the whole author-reader contract to consider. Besides, the win wasn't really by default, it was the culmination of story threads (and other factors) that were brought into play from the start. I mean, one of the most important parts of the ending was set up as far back as Goblet, and I thought the relevance was pretty satisfying. Each to their own though. However, as I said, do read Jarvis if you like a bit of nasty in your endings (not to mention pick up a lovecraft omnibus or two if you don't already own them). That said, it's hard to find Jarvis anywhere other than online these days, I think he must have annoyed someone high up in publishing at some point.

Xmen Origins Wolveringe. I expected to see a final scene with Xavier and the kids and we see who's who (like ice boy and cyclops) but it just ends with

Wolverine losing his memory

Crackdown

Ok, all the syndicates are dead, now what? My bosses put all of the syndicates into power to create a new world order? Uhhhhh, am I gonna do anything about this? Why should I support people trying to take over the world? As a super powered police officer, aren't I supposed to stop this?

Blade Runner. That entire movie just had me saying "What the crap..."

Trigun. Brought up tons of emotional and deep questions, then ended it with a show recap (honestly, a show recap for half of the last episode?) and a short, simple gun battle with no explanation of exposition whatsoever.

Fooly Cooly. Another one that just confused me the entire time (but an amazing anime nonetheless).

Assassin's Creed. Not even so much of a cliffhanger as a "walking along, then trip and faCRETITS" kind of ending. I was just kind of like "what the crap is that thing..." then the credits rolled. Bring on the sequel already.

Halo 3 (Legendary Ending). What the crap was that thing?!?!?!?!?

Beyond Good and Evil. Wait, what happened, why did it work, and what was that after the credits?!?!? SEQUEL!!!!!

That was pretty shitty but it makes some sense, sorta
The ending to 9 was pretty weird
All but 4 of the dolls die, it starts raining, and then they just walk off

Yes, Spike is dead.
Hell no he isn't. At the end of the twenty-fourth AND FINAL episode he's well and alive. No you silly, CB doesn't have 26 episodes... ha ha ha, where did you hear that?

Nia ;_; seriously...so unfufilling.

also, does anyone think Yoko has the absolute worst luck with men?
Y'know, almost every single opinion I've heard expressed about that ending has been negative, and I honestly don't understand why.
I mean, I keep seeing people say that they "pulled a tragedy ending out of nowhere", when they did say, repeatedly, from the very moment the Anti-Spirals were introduced, that Nia was basically dead, that she was now made of Anti-Spiral energy, and the overwhelming odds were that destroying the Anti-Spirals would kill her too. When she was rescued, they showed that she was still a product of Anti-Spiral energy, and that she was experiencing difficulty in keeping herself in one piece. There was so much forewarning, and they straight out stated "Nia's probably going to die in the end" so many times, I really don't understand why people think they pulled it out of the air.

As for narrative relevance, it still makes sense. When she died, it was acknowledgement of the fact that, sometimes, the dice just don't roll your way. That 99% a failure rate is still really bad odds. That it's not always a matter of willpower. I honestly think that allowing Nia to die was the best thing they could've done.

The ending to Kane and Lynch:
ummm, wait, so I just get on the helicopter? Is that it? Wait, option two.... oh, they bleed to death on a boat

Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles
Ok they took out the small group now... wait, THAT was the big group? That was all of them? THAT was the final battle, it was, like, one missile shower, surely they are gonna follow up on, no, wait, they aren't, they're just going to imply that they are going after Rick Hunter.... yeah, great ending guys, thanks for the great denoument and conclusion, thanks for tieing up all those loose ends.

In ways of good endings, I pick:
Call of Duty 4:Modern Warfare
They all went down fighting in the end. A car chase as you try to shoot off several pursuers who are in turn trying to ram you off the road, shoot you full of holes and blow you off track with a RPG. Then the helicopter comes and blows up the bridge, which eventually leads to an oil tanker exploding, incapacitating everyone except Griggs, who dies trying to bring you to better cover. Imran comes and starts executing you remaining squadmates, and comes for you. Friendly russian troops come and distract him, giving you the chance to kill him and his guards.
Of you and your squadmates, only you live to tell the tale.
BioShock - the 'Good' ending is just so heartwarmingly sweet and satisfying.

Eh, too tired to post more. Maybe tomorrow I'll put more.

Yeah, that was a weird ending.

OT: Probably the end to ODST as some have said before. To me, it just felt like something was missing. Dunno what, to me it was a bit of an anti-climax..
