I hope it's alright that I'm posting this. I need some help, and I figured I'd get quite a few replies here. If I'm in the wrong, I apologize.

I'm doing a study for my Statistics class and I need more data. So, all I need is for you to answer two questions for me:

Do you think more or less than 5000 people go into a Wal-mart on the average day? What is your estimate of people that go in (number)?

Just think of your local Wal-mart and answer. Even if you have no idea, your answer will still help me. Thanks, guys!

EDIT: Please note that I only mean ONE Wal-mart, not all Wal-marts worldwide.

One Wal-Mart in particular, or worldwide? Because I assure you, the worldwide is more like 3 million or higher.

I would say the one in my general area probably gets near that on a weekend. Not sure about the week though.

Does this include outside of America?
Because I'm pretty sure only about two to four thousand people a day go into your average Asda*.

Less than 5000 for the wal-mart in my area. This is mainly due to the fact that I am from a low population area.

local? you are literally asking an unanswerable question: reasons:

seasonal changes in people going out
location
population density
accessibility

Yeah, I can include outside of America too. ^_^ Same concept so I can still use the data.

Population doesn't matter. I'm basically asking about the area around YOU and what you'd say for the store closest to you.

More than 5,000 even though I live in a small town.

[small]Be prepared for some 'IT'S OVER 5000!!!' jokes, I'm sure they'll be here soon.[/small]

Well...I think you're looking into it a little too hard. I mean on the average day, any day of the season (pick a season to base your answer on, basically), in whatever area you're in with however many people there are.
I don't mean for there to be so many variables to it...

My Wal-Mart is a particularly high volume store, and it's 24 hours, so I'd say a lot more than that. There's usually 15-18 cashiers working without any breaks in the lines during the busier times and then also considering 8 self-check outs and then cashiers in other departments... I wouldn't be surprised if it was 8 or 10k.

I'd say a little more than 5k per day.And now for a question of my own- How many of these customers are mouth-breathing, inbreed dumb-asses?

I know, I know. I never said Wal-mart was the best of places but like I said, this is for a class. It's not like I actually care. xD

And thanks to everyone that's answered so far! Keep 'em coming. I need to get to at least 25 and I have 17 so far.

I know when I worked a supermarket (not walmart, just food) we got around 3000 customers a day in a small town. SO I figure 5000 is probably around what the walmart (a supercenter) across the street did.

Eh thousands to be sure. That also varies according to the population of the area and the amount of traffic passing by the store. I don't go to Wal Mart though. Fuck them.

Half of them are mouth-breathing, inbreed dumb-asses. The other half are guilty of having their head up their ass. They are all socially irresponsible.

I'd think it'd be around 5k a day. I don't work there or anything mind you so this is pure speculation.
