Oh fuck off.

I want BG&E2 as much as the next guy, probably more so, but this is just insulting. "Hey, buy this utterly unremarkable game and we might just let our developer get back to making something worthwhile." At least they're having a sense of humour about it I suppose.

I can understand why the suits aren't exactly salivating at the notion, but if they're not going to release BG&E2 then I wish they would just kick it in the head once and for all.

Rayman isn't "utterly unremarkable"!

He may be a relatively small name, and admittedly I didn't care about this release really either. Until, that is, I played the demo and then looked up some early reviews. I'm actually really wanting it now.

Haha, talk about trying to milk your fans. Of course they could much more easily do this if they actually funded a new game already, but whatever. I'd love to play a sequel. Assuming of course it doesn't have the same game crushing bug that prevented me from progressing in the first. I was so pissed off I haven't touched it since, which is a shame, as I was really enjoying it until then.

I bought the first Beyond Good and Evil twice (Steam and XBLA). I think I've done my part.

If I buy Rayman Origins it will be on its own merits, not on the nebulous hopes that BG&E2 will come out someday.

£40? 40 of the queen's english pounds for a 2D platformer? I just bought arkham city for £30 I can't see how this would be worth the money.

I don't want to play a Rayman game. I don't care about Rayman. I do want a new BG&E game, but I'm not buying junk I don't want just to MAYBE get the game I do want down the line...

Shit.

This is f'd up... I have to buy some silly platform game to get more Beyond Good and Evil? Seriously?

I would be really pissed off right now.... if I wasn't playing more Skyrim in the next few minutes!!!!!!!

I might look into some joke of a mario rip off game if it helps the cause. (ignorant on Rayman)
Are you... I can't think of anything that won't give me an infraction/ban.

Rayman is a mario clone JESUS CHRIST DUDE.

Really, Ubisoft?
I mean, it's not like I was in love with you but somehow I believed you to be above MASSIVE dick moves.
And this is nothing but a massive dick move. I mean, this borders to extortion.
I'm starting to wish that BG&E didn't end with this FUCKING EVIL cliffhanger and just remained a cute little game on its own. >:C

The thing is: I was really looking forward to Rayman Origins and would've bought it. Now I'm quite turned off by this wink wink nudge nudge. What to do, what to do?
If only I had some CONFIRMED incentive to buy it...

Hmm..the last Rayman game I played was Rayman 2...and I have VERY fond memories of that game.

Kind of a dick move, yes. But, I'll probably shell out money for both of these games anyway. To me this is a clear case of the ends justifying the means.

ARRRGGG!!!! If only Rayman was on the PC...
Urgh, Iv'e been waiting for BG&E2 for ages and now the way to hury it up is to buy a game that I can't play? It can't be that hard to make a pc port, can it?

Buy an orange and we might give you apples? How does a 2d platformers sales show demand for a 3d adventure title. Seriously. Go off the B&G HDs sales )i brought one on each console to show support (already owned it on pc & xbox)

I WOULD have loved to have brought rayman... last month. This sales period sees skyrim, zelda, uncharted and batman COD and/or Battle field, mario 3ds and ubis own AC. A pretty 2d platformer just can't compete. (I feel sorry for kirby too, which will also suffer) The original bg&e got lost in the xams release rush, I'm expecting that rayman will too. Publishers need to learn the we earn money 365 days a year, not just in november (when we also face xmas expenses and just don't have the disposable income to buy them all)

On a side note, I'm sorry but the kid market that this might have appealed too is going to be swalled up by a 2nd mortgage being taken out to complete skylander collections....

Basing your decision on a sequel to a game on the sales of a HD remake of the first? An acceptable decision.

Basing your decision on the sales of a completely different game: Hey Ubisoft, see this 50 euro note I was considering to buy Anno 2070 from you with? Take a good look at it, this is as close as you're ever gonna get to it. I had understood that some Ubisoft titles are comming with a slightly less Orwellian DRM system so I was considering giving some of their games a shot again. But it looks like Ubi's general buisness practices are still going strong. I don't trust these guys enough to give them that kind of money in exchange for what they consider a fair product.

So... you release Rayman Origins in the same month as Skyrim, Modern Warfare 3, Saints Row 3, and Assassin's Creed Revelations(one of YOUR games), and you say that BG&E2 depends on sales of Origins? Even though the HD collection is doing really well and is bringing new and old fans into/back to the franchise?

Fuck you, Ubisoft. We're gonna have another BG&E thing here, where sales of a much more hyped game(Revelations/Prince of Persia) will take sales away from you're more smaller game(Rayman Origins/Beyond Good and Evil). To say nothing of all the other games coming out at the same time.

Jackasses.

Rayman is a mario clone JESUS CHRIST DUDE.
2D side scrolling, jump and attack, nintendo like, platforming, collect 'coins', get power ups for different attacks.... blah blah blah.

It's like Mario. That's okay. Sure it has it's own 'look' and more artistic originality, sure it has some sort of theme/story/humor that is original and sets it apart for some people.

I'm not them.

I hear Rayman, I think of this:

This doesn't interest me.

Sorry if I offended some sort of nostalgia binder. But this is nothing like Beyond Good and Evil, and I hate that this article (cause the devs) even suggest fans buy Rayman to get more of a chance for Beyond Good and Evil 2. It's nothing personal, it just rubs me the wrong way. I may be wrong, and there may a great Rayman game in existence that I am ignorant towards. I just haven't seen it yet.
You do realize that Rayman had few awesome, witty, engaging 3D games, right? Rayman 2: The Great Escape is probably in my top 10 of games nobody remembers, and it had a very good sequel.

Frankly more people know who Rayman is than Jade. And I say it as a massive BG&E fan, who owns a physical copy bought at release for full price AND a steam copy.
