[sub]"I'm flattered you find me so interesting."[/sub] Solaris responded with a smile, although it was impossible to tell wherther or not she was serious. After Pix unlocked the door, Solaris opened it slowly, and just enough that she would be able to fit through, so to not risk Ness waking up when the lights from the hallway would flood the room. Closing the door behind her, Solaris shook her head upon seeing that Ness had fallen down, but paid her little mind. Keeping her eyes to the floor, looking to what's directly infront of her feet so to not step on something and risk waking Ness up with the resulting noise, Solaris began looking for books on the composition of stones.

"Nah. There's more to being the face of the band then that. Like giving speeches and other public speakings like that. That's really not my thing, you knwow?" Eddie responded. Upon hearing the footsteps with the accompanying sound of metal clanking, Eddie turned around, and looked to the entrance, grinning slightly when Jerrog entered. "Looking badass in that thing, dude. Could do with a change in colours, though..." After humminh to himself, Eddie rested the shaft of the axe on his shoulder, holding it near the end. "Anyway, let's get this show on the road, huh?" After giving a small wave to Lapis, Eddie turned around again, and entered the arena.

As Solaris slipped in, Ness would continue to be asleep as she looked around. After a little milling around, Solaris would see a book on basic alchemy principles right under Ness' right hip. There were other alchemy books strewn about, but they delved more into the transmutation of metals and metallic alloys.

"Speeches were never much of a favorite of our actual leader either. So I believe I know what you mean. You two might have much in common." Lapis replied to Eddie, chuckling to herself slightly.

"Never much cared to bother with tha color. Sa long as it keeps sharp and nasty things away from moi hide, I'm happy with it." Jerrog replied to Eddie. He nodded to him in reply and lifted his lance back up, holding the point towards the ground as he followed Eddie into the Arena.

Lapis waved back to Eddie as he and Jerrog entered the Arena. After seeing them off, she made her way back to the lounge to observe the match.

As Solaris slowly walked around the room, she took note of what books were and weren't of interest. She saw the book on alchemic principles under Ness, but quickly deciding it wasn't worth risking waking her up by trying to pull it out from under her. Noting the books on the transmutation of metal, Solaris picked up two of them, then turned around and began heading back towards the door again, still keeping her eyes to the floor.

Once in the arena, Eddie walked to the opposite end of it, before turning around back to face Jerrog. "So, before we begin, what's your name? I'm Eddie." He asked while cracking his neck, followed by rolling the shoulder of his free arm.

On the way back, she'd see that a clockwork robot Ness had made had bumped into a small table, rattling it a small amount. This caused a book on top of it to fall, pages open to a section on stones and their formation. Ness continued sleeping despite the miniscule noise the book falling down onto the carpet produced. Other than that, all the books she would have seen were all the same and nothing that would cause large amounts of noise were placed in her path.

As Lapis returned to the lounge, she would see Carmen sipping on her wine and casually observing the matches on screen with some interest.

Seeing the clockwork robot stroll around, Solaris' first thoughts were that she was suprised to find it was still running. Once it ran into the table and caused the books to fall down, however, Solaris bit her lip lightly, glancing towards Ness while making no further move. When it seemed the noise didn't wake Ness, Solaris blew a mute sigh, and continued on towards the door. Once there, she pressed her ear against it, and listened for footsteps in the hallway, leaving the room only once she found there were none. Softly closing the door, Solaris looked down to Pix. [sub]"Now then, lock it again."[/sub]

A small tendril of slime extended back into the keyhole and turned it the other way, locking the door from outside. Pix chuckled softly. [small] "Sweeeeet~! Let's get moving!" [/small] As the door was locked from the outside, Ness shifted around a little bit in her sleep before settling back down.

Holding the books under her left arm, Solaris began heading back towards her own suite, throwing her hair with her free hand. "I couldn't find anything on stones, but I did find things on the transmutation of metals. This'll be just as useful." She said with a slightly hushed voice.

@Nail: I guess.

Jerrog stopped at the opposite end of the arena as Eddie. "Eddie? Bit of an odd name, but I'm not one ta judge. I'm Jerrog." Jerrog replied, adopting a combat ready stance. As he did, the Arena began changing. It took on the appearance of ruins comprised of multi-layered stone-work, forming a sloping chamber, with Jerrog and Eddie remaining level with each other. A shallow water-way split the chamber in two right between them. An eerie amber fog started to form, though it was still thin enough to see though, only being enough to slightly tint the surroundings. "Some kinda fancy magick at work alright..."

Pix sighed a bit. "Good to hear. Thing is where are we gonna find some metal to practice with? But I'll be able to do the same sort of things as you said I might be able to with stone, right?" She asked in a similarly hushed tone.

"We could go to the lounge and practice on the stools, but then others would see we have the books, which is really a thing to avoid. So, back to my suite we go. You can practice by attempting to turn the doorknob into a dagger." Solaris responded. Once back at her suite, she opened the door, and entered, closing it behind her. "And, yes, you can. It also opens up the option of making an enemy's weapon useless, provided you know the composition of the metal."
As the arena changed to take on the appearance of foggy ruins, Eddie looked around and whistled to himself. "That's pretty awesome. Huh..." Looking back to Jerrog, Eddie narrowed his eyes, throwing his axe up by a small amount, and catching it near the middle of the handle. Assuming a battle stance, he bended through his knees slightly and leaned forward. Once the anouncer anounced the start of the battle, Eddie began slowly approaching Jerrog.

"It is usually quite subjective. But most judges would agree that I pass the chance up for beauty." Malcor answered, straightening his head.

"Well let's not have this start off all slow then, ah?" Jerrog bent his knees, then took off running towards Eddie. As he reached the water-way, Jerrog leaped over it and kept his stride, quickly bearing down on Eddie and jabbing right for his mid-section with his lance. Having decided to not take the match to the death, Jerrog was wielding a blunt lance, obviously designed to be used in practice than actual warfare, though Jerrog's considerable strength would still make the blow something not to be easily shrugged off if it were to land.

Once the duo got back into Solaris' suite, Pix unattached herself and reformed, looking to the books under Solaris' arm. "Alright then... Hopefully learning about how other people's weaponry is made up won't be too difficult to figure out..." She said, rubbing her gooey chin a bit. "But I guess just asking people for curiosity's sake would be too suspicious... But I guess that's something to think about after we figure out if I can even do this stuff. What do I need to do first?"

Almost forgot.

Taking a hold of his axe with both hands as Jerrog charged towards him, Eddie intended to parry the thrust. When Jarrog leapt up, however, Eddie rolled to the side, barely avoiding the blow. While rising back to his full height, Eddie flipped the axe around, and thrust the blunt end of it to Jerrog's side.

"Well, it depends. If I can get on friendly enough terms with someone, I can ask to study their weapons and possible other equipment under the guise of wanting to improve on it. Failing that, you'll have to work by trial and error." Solaris responded as she held out the two books towards Pix. "The first thing to do would be to see if the form of alchemy detailed in these books is compatible with what I know. Given they're from different dimensions, that might not be the case. I don't see it being too large of a setback if it isn't, however." She answered. "Of course, you'll also need to study the ores mentioned herein, and the values to be used in a transmutation circles for each of them."

Pix tilted her head a bit as she sat down, crosslegged and laid the book in her lap. As she sat, a puddle of goo formed under her. The goo girl began reading bit by bit and looked up to Solaris. "Well... what do you mean by 'what you know'? This alchemy stuff's new to me. I've heard of it before but never so much as touched a book about it. ...What values would I... Oh, they're right here..." She asked and mused aloud as she read.

"Well, on my world, I've heard of alchemy in other countries being practiced in a completely different way then we in Amestris do. So, if it's even done differently in different countries, then it's safe to assume this is the case across different dimensions." Solaris explained as she walked towards the table. Picking up a chair, she placed it behind Pix and sat down, leaning forward slightly as she read with Pix. "From what I've seen that woman do, however, the basic principles are still the same, which is why I said I don't seeing it being much of a setback if it is different on a more technical level."

Resting her left elbow on her knee, Solaris rested her chin in the palm of her hand as she read. "I've been wodering... You were wearing a labcoat. So you're a scientist, yes?"

"Alright... so it says here that the basic sequence for a transmutation is to 1: Create the circle using the correct symbols to correspond with the element or combination of elements composing the object you wish to transmute. The 13 commonly used 'elements' are Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Ice, Electricity, Magma, Metal, Light, Dark, Sound, Life, Energy, and Void." Pix read casually. Solaris would see a collection of symbols corresponding with each listed item. "The elemental symbol must be placed in the center of the circle, the other symbols around it display a set of instructions called runes. A circle may only have a set amount of runes in place around the elemental symbol. This amount depends both on how large the circle is and on how advanced the alchemist is. More runes allow finer control over the transmutation. Constructing a circle is the most important part of a transmutation, so practice well."

Pausing from the reading, Pix shifted to allow Solaris an easier time to read. "A scientist? I was... I mainly studied the biology of our species along with other organisms." She paused a bit before nodding. "Guess that makes a lot of sense though... Alchemy seems to cover a lot of... area, so different people doing different things different ways should be common."

As she read along with Pix, Solaris lightly tapped her chin with the index finger of the hand which she rested her chin on. "Hmm... So, right from the start, things are different then the alchemy we use. To begin with, no some of the elements mentioned there don't exist on their own, and no symbol has to be at the center of a circle. This is more depending on what the alchemist wishes to accomplish. The way a circle is constructed in my world is one outer circle to regulate the flow of power, possible inner circles to serve as conduits, geometric shapes, and symboles for elements or trace elements. Depending on the purpose, text may also be written at the edge of the main circles." She explained. "The runes that are to be places at the edge of the circle to serve as instructions here are the same, at least... Although I don't recognise a lot of them."

At Pix's answer to Solaris' question, she nodded. "I see. If that's the case, bio alchemy should suit you well."
